Madison’s POV

Dylan scoffs, the sound low and cruel. “You’re bluffing.” His lips curl, revealing the arrogance that has always been there, only now it isn’t disguised by pretty words or soft smiles. “I’ll be Alpha soon, Madison. Don’t forget who you’re dealing with. I have plenty of ways to make you submit.”

My stomach twists.

He doesn’t stop. His voice hardens into steel. “If you keep making things difficult for me, I’ll strip you of every privilege you have. I’ll demote you to an Omega slave. And then you’ll beg to come back to me.”

The words strike harder than any physical blow. I stumble a step back, my breath catching. “You… you would really do that?” My voice is barely above a whisper, shaking with disbelief.

His expression doesn’t falter. No remorse, no hesitation. Just a cold smile that tells me he means every word.

The man I thought I loved, the man I thought I knew, is gone.

Or maybe he was never real to begin with.

A hollow ache spreads through my chest as I whisper, “You’r

  • An Unwanted Mark by the Alpha   #Chapter 13: The Mating Ceremony

Madison’s POVThe soldiers drag me through the corridors of the pack house, their grip bruising my arms with every step. The floorboards groan under the weight of their boots, the sound bouncing off the walls and filling the halls like a drumbeat of my impending doom.Talia thrashes inside me, coiled and restless, eager to fight, yet bound by ropes that bite into my wrists. The rough fibers cut and sting as I shift slightly, snarling under my breath.Dylan’s eyes land on me, scanning me like a predator assessing its prey. Relief flashes across his face for a split second, as if he’s glad I haven’t vanished completely. But that relief is short-lived. It vanishes instantly, replaced by a dark, almost feral anger that makes the hair on my arms stand on end.“You dared to escape?” His voice cracks like a whip, sharp and relentless, echoing through the hallways.I don’t answer. There’s nothing left to say. I’ve learned the man I loved no longer exists; he’s been replaced by someone unrecog

  • An Unwanted Mark by the Alpha   #Chapter 11: Leave or Stay

Madison’s POV“Tell the truth. You have a healing gift, don’t you?”I hesitate. I don’t want to be used for my gift like I was with Dylan.“Your family has left scars on you for years. Where are they, Princess?” He examines my face, my neck, my arms. “Gone. Because you healed yourself.”“I-I…”“With that sort of talent, you could join the royal pack as a healer.”My mind spins.Austin’s offer hangs between us like smoke, curling into my chest, heavy and choking. Join the royal pack. Be a healer. Live under his protection. Leave all of this behind. It’s tempting. Too tempting. I can practically feel the weight lifting from my shoulders at the thought of walking away from Dylan, Zoey, my parents, all of it. But temptation always hides teeth.“What’s the catch?” I whisper, my voice steady though my palms are damp against my thighs.Austin studies me, eyes narrowing as though he already knows I’m testing him. His lips curve, not into a smile, but something sharper. “The catch, Madison, i

  • An Unwanted Mark by the Alpha   #Chapter 10: Royal Queen

Madison’s POVThe word queen still rattles in my bones, like a bell that refuses to stop ringing.I stare at Austin’s Beta, eyes wide, lungs aching from the breath I’ve been holding. Even my parents are struck dumb, which almost never happens. Father’s lips part, then press together again, his jaw flexing. My stepmother frowns, stroking Zoey’s shoulder, but for once she doesn’t rush to her darling’s defense.Zoey, though… Zoey looks like she’s swallowed poison. Her painted lips part as if she’s about to argue, but she doesn’t dare. Her eyes dart from me to the Beta, her thoughts written in every twitch of her expression: Could it be true? Could the man who marked Madison really be the royal prince? For the first time in forever, she has no words. The Beta doesn’t even acknowledge them. He just steps closer to me, his presence steady but strangely soft. “The royal prince requires your presence,” he says. His voice is calm, measured, yet the weight of it leaves no room for argument.Fat

Madison’s POVFury surges through me, hot and uncontrollable, as I shove the office door open. The hinges slam against the wall with a bang that rattles the shelves inside, and suddenly I’m standing there—staring, frozen, my worst fear made flesh before my eyes.Dylan.And Zoey.Together.Zoey’s smug little smirk is the first thing I see, curled on her lips as if she’s been waiting for this exact moment. Dylan looks startled, guilt flashing across his handsome face as he scrambles to pull himself upright. For a heartbeat, I can’t breathe. My chest squeezes so tight I think my ribs will crack. The man I have loved so deeply—the one I promised my heart, my trust, my future—and the half-sister who has tormented me since childhood? It’s like some cruel joke the universe is playing, and the punchline is me.“Madison—wait, it’s not what you think,” Dylan blurts, his hands raised as if he can somehow erase what I’ve just seen.I laugh, sharp and broken, though it comes out more like a sob. “

  • An Unwanted Mark by the Alpha   #Chapter 8: The Truth

Madison’s POVCharity’s warning rings in my ears long after she leaves me alone in my room.“Don’t do it,” she had said, her eyes wide, her voice trembling with the weight of her concern. “If Dylan finds out, he might abandon you. He might… ruin you, Maddie. And what then?”Her words replay again and again, but the more I think about them, the more my chest tightens—not with fear, but with a kind of stubborn clarity. She doesn’t understand. This isn’t about what Dylan might do. This is about me. About my conscience, my dignity, and the bond between us that has been tangled and heavy ever since that night.I can’t live with this secret any longer.Even if Dylan hates me. Even if he calls off the engagement. Even if my reputation crumbles and I’m left standing alone while Zoey and everyone else laughs at my downfall—at least I’ll know I told the truth. At least I’ll know I didn’t hide behind a mask of lies.Because how could I ever be Luna if I can’t even be honest with my mate? The tho
