Unpredictable

Morning came and the weather was very nice and warm, although no one in the mansion had the time to enjoy the good weather.

With the general's family currently staying over, the whole house was busy, every one making sure they do their best in impressing the sons of the general.

The chefs made sure to cook their best while Clara supervised, they couldn’t slack off or blink. Clara made sure everything was up to her standards and more, she wanted to impress the Duans, get into their good books, this marriage working meant she got good connections and influence, she would finally have something to brag about to her friends.

Although Lily was aware that she was engaged to Li Chen, she still couldn't help but admire that man that always followed behind them.

The trio came down for breakfast and her eyes didn't leave Dylan. She had a seductive smile on her lips, her gaze unwavering. She suddenly had an idea…

She walked over to 'greet' them and 'accidentally' slipped, she held Dylan’s well toned arm for support. Dylan’s fists clenched and he felt like rise in his throat, he fought the urge to push the woman away violently.

Not noticing the man's expression turning gloomy and the looks of pity from the twins

Lily smiled seductively at Bai Sheng "Thank you" she said in a soft voice, no man could resist such delicate charms

The man's brows furrowed as he stared at the arm that had just been touched, he wanted to burn his clothes, then his arm.

"Dylan, it was an accident" Li Chen said trying to calm the man next to him.

"Hm" Dylan said in response which surprised the two brothers, he normally won't listen to them and just.....

Dylan was repulsed but that didn’t mean he was stupid, if he did anything stupid the general would have to pay for his mistakes and he would hate to inconvenience general Duan or his sons. Lu Zhang, the girl's father had a lot of influence, one wrong move in this house and….

Just as Lilly was about to 'sincerely' apologize, the man's actions made her go incredibly silent.

Bai Sheng put his hands into his jacket pocket and brought out a hand sanitizer, then took off the jacket, rolled up his sleeves and rubbed the sanitizer all over his arm. Cleaning every trace of the woman's touch on him. Dylan gave the jacket to a passing maid, “Keep it…” he says to her.

Lily stared open mouth at his actions, the maid walked away happily, probably had never touched such expensive clothing before.

After being satisfied, he stopped rubbing.

He walked past the girl who was already red with embarrassment and sat down.

"Uh.....Lily, don't take what he did to heart. Its not that you are disgusting or anything, he just dislikes having any contact with females"

Li Chen explained as he smiled comfortingly at the girl.

Of course he knew what she was trying to do, it wasn't the first time something like this happened, but to think she would try to seduce another man in front of her fiancé. Li Chen had already made up his mind right there and then. His father would support his decision if he chose not to marry one of the Lu sisters, he wouldn’t do it, the were beautiful but…they just were not his type.

"I'm surprised he didn't punch you or something, that last girl really had it coming right bro?" Su Chen laughed as he tapped his brother's shoulders. He ran his hand through his blonde hair and winked at Lily, reveling in her shocked and embarrassed expression.

“I’m surprised you still have a tongue with how much words you have spoken without thinking” Li Chen says to his brother before giving Lily a reassuring smile.

Lily stood there like a robot, listening to all of their words

'Of course!, what was I thinking?, I am going to marry in the Duan family!, why should I care about some guy who isn't even known by anyone?' She didn’t have to try and curry his favor of make him fall for her….

After regaining her composure, she flashed her usual elegant smile.

She took one last glance at Bai Sheng before sitting down, she didn't care, he was just a nobody...right?

Dylan tried to calm his breathing, he didn’twant to cause a scene but he was sure his actions were enough to show Lily his lack of interest, he shares a look with Like Chen that he understood the message very clearly.

‘Is this really who you want to marry?’

Li Chen's lips twitched as he saw the mirth in Dylan's eyes.

‘I’m rethinking my decision….’

"Miss Anna, won't you go down for breakfast?"

Anna shook her head, she hadn't eaten anything on that table since her mother died, she didn't want to be involved in any of their family matters.

If possible, she wanted them to forget she existed.

Anna stared at her reflection in the mirror for a while, her dark green eyes were the only beautiful things on her face, though now even those eyes looked hauntingly gaunt and empty, lifeless.

Her skin was not really well taken care of so she didn't really  look as beautiful or elegant as her sisters, not that she cared about that anymore. She had prayed for death last night but it didn’t come, she was tired.

Although her mother had tried to convince her several times to at least apply make up, she never really felt like doing it, she just didn’t see the point.

But now that her mother was gone, she felt bad not fulfilling some of her wishes, after scrolling through the internet and finding out the products she would need, she made a list and ordered for them.

Since she was not allowed to die she might at least look good living this empty, sad life of hers.

"I ordered a few things, please help me bring them when they arrive"

Janet nodded, it was the first time Anna ever used the personal card given to her by her father, Janet was excited, she wanted to know what the Young miss had ordered.

“What did you order Miss Anna?”

Anna's room was not at the second floor, due to her wheel chair she had a room at the first floor making it easier for her to go in and out of the house without issues.

Following the back door like last time, she headed to the piano room and started playing just like yesterday, make up can wait

right now she just wanted to drown her sorrows.

Without the general to bring up lively topics, breakfast was kind of awkward.

The general who left at the last minute because of work had only left one message for his sons

"Observe the girls, if you don't like them, you tell me"

Madam Clara didn't really know that the general was planning to call off the engagements if his sons didn't like her daughters, for her it was already a done deal!.

Her happy smiled soon faltered when Su Chen mentioned Anna

"How about the third daughter of Mr Lu?, she is also not down for breakfast?”

Madam Clara had totally forgotten the girl, for the past month she had not come down for breakfast and Clara was already used to not seeing her at the table.

"You know the poor girl has lost someone so important to her, she just likes staying inside all the time" Clara's expression was that of a caring mother, the brothers nodded their heads and continued with their meals.

Clara's fists clenched under the table, she hated how the men's attention always diverted towards Anna. She didn’t want to hear talk about her, she has been hearing the name of the girl ever since she found out her husband cheated on and still…

"Delivery for Anna Lu" a man dressed in red and holding a large box said. Janet rushed to the door and gave the man a bright smile.

"Give it here" Janet said excitedly as her eyes scanned the box, oh, how she wished it was transparent.

After signing, Janet left for Anna's room.

Clara stared at the back of the girl with anger

'so that girl has finally decided to use her card...what did she order?, why was the box so big?'

Clara had so many questions but she decided to calm down, she couldn't leave while the general's sons were still here.

She made a reminder to herself that after breakfast she would go to that idiot's room to find out what she had brought into the house, she doesn't  trust that girl one bit!

She is always unpredictable, like her mother.
