DEENA'S POV

I think I lost consciousness for a minute after I heard what the doctor said. I didn't realize that the doctor left long ago, and that I was sitting in the waiting room with Ethan beside me. I just... stared at the wall for God knows how long, not hearing or seeing anything.

"I was told that his family is in California and the plane will arrive in a couple of hours or so." Ethan informed me after I calmed down a little, but I still felt empty, drained and numbed.

I felt guilt eating me from the inside, finally realizing how shitty I treated my own boyfriend. I freaked out earlier over my ex and completely forgot he was there. I left him in the car and ran to see how the said ex was doing. And now, he was accompanying me while waiting for Trenton to be transferred to his room.

I sighed deeply and it hurt every part of my body. I turned to my supposed partner and held his hands in mine.

"I'm sorry for neglecting you, Eth. For... For worrying about my ex." I sincerely apo

  • Another Chance At Love—But Which Ex?!    LXXXV: Snake's Visit

DEENA'S POVI balanced my time between working on a series, attending important events, being a mother to Rosie, and taking care of Trenton. It was difficult because the hospital is half an hour away from home, but I made it happen. There are times when the shooting will take hours and sometimes finish late, but I still made time to visit Trenton before going home to our daughter. Ethan and I became good friends, but I wasn't insensitive enough to act like I didn't hurt him. I gave him some space and we only meet if it's related to work. When he visited Trenton, I told him about everything he did and what Sandra did to him, and being the good person that he was, he offered to help us in any way he could. A week after the incident, I was surprised when some of our friends from the Ex-Factor arrived to visit. They filled the whole room and surrounded Trent's bed. "We heard what happened and we found the time to visit together, Dee. God, it was terrible." Alice told me sadly while lo

  • Another Chance At Love—But Which Ex?!    LXXXIV: I'm Sorry

DEENA'S POVWhen I went back to work a couple of days after Trent's accident, I received an earful from Cassie and Jane, but I avoided their questions about what happened. Trent's family and I decided that we'd alternate in looking after him, but if we really can't, they hired a private nurse just in case. They insisted that I didn't need to stay, but I also insisted that I wanted to stay beside Trent until he woke up—which we can't be sure of when.To make it up to my co-stars and the staff members for the inconvenience, I prepared lunch for everyone. "Deena, what were you doing at the scene where Trenton Outlaw met with an accident?" "How is your ex-husband, Deena?" "Did you and Trenton get back together?" I took a deep breath to calm myself and decided to ignore the questions being thrown at me after a whole day's filming. I already expected that they would be waiting for me to get some answers. "Let's go home, please. I miss my daughter." I exhaled in exhaustion and slumped

DEENA'S POV"Did you save him just so you can kill him?!" Leonora exclaimed emotionally and I did not utter any response, understanding that she was just upset and worried about her son."Mom, please. Calm down, will you?" Drake, Trenton's older brother grabbed his mother to calm her down while Jake, the youngest Outlaw, approached me. "I'm sorry about that, Deena. Are you alright?" I shook my head gently and gave him a small smile. "I'm fine." "Deena, what exactly happened to my son? Why is he in this state?" Hudson, Trent's father asked. He looked calm, but I could see his worried eyes brimming with tears as he looked at his son."I... He was at the bar where my friends and I were and he was already drunk. He wanted to talk to me, but I made it clear to him that we have nothing to talk about. He left and I didn't think that he'd drive in that state, Hudson. Trent was never that irresponsible. I-I'm sorry." "Why are you sorry? Trent knew better than to drive under the influence o

  • Another Chance At Love—But Which Ex?!    LXXXI: I Still Worry About You

DEENA'S POV"What's wrong with him?" Cassie asked in frustration and inspected me from head to toe. "Are you okay? Did he hurt you?" Everyone witnessed the drama earlier and we already apologized for the disturbance we caused. The owner assured us that nothing about what happened would leak outside, because everyone knows about the bar's policy. Whatever happens here, stays here. "No, he didn't. I was just surprised. He was never like that. He looked like a mess." I answered in a confused and lost tone. "I know. In all the years I've worked with Mr. Outlaw, I've never seen him act like that. He wasn't the friendliest boss out there, but he wasn't the type to get drunk and harass someone." For as long as I've known him, I never saw him in that state. He never got drunk because he had discipline and he took good care of himself. He holds himself so high that he never shows vulnerability in front of other people. Most importantly, what was he babbling about just now? He was threaten

  • Another Chance At Love—But Which Ex?!    LXXX: What's the Point of Living?

TRENTON'S POV"Trenton, you're drunk and you're not making any sense right now." Deena was about to leave when I grabbed her in a gentle yet desperate way. I was drunk, sure, but my mind's never been clearer. "Trust me when I say that everything I'm saying is the truth, Deena. I'm not lying. I'm done lying. I'm done pretending that I'm fine when I'm not. Hell, I am far from being fine." My thumb caressed her smooth skin and it felt like I didn't have the right to touch her. Not anymore. No matter how much I want to cling to her. Because she's now someone else's. "So you want me to believe that Sandra had the power over you? You? The oh-so-powerful CEO of Shine Network? One of the wealthiest men in the country? Please, Trenton. If you're going to lie, at least make it believable." She sarcastically said and removed my hold on her, instantly making me feel cold. I have been feeling nothing but coldness gripping my heart and body. When will I feel warm again? "I don't know why you'
