The Young Women

The sight had me frozen to the ground. The cavernous room was a holding cell and looked more of a torture chamber with all the iron shackles hanging from the walls.

It was dark and damp, the stone walls were black with grime, there were no windows in there. The only light in the room came from some torches mounted on the filthy walls.

There were big slabs of stone tables in the middle of the room, with leather straps, I counted five tables. Two had big black spots on them. The spots made me queasy, as I was sure those were bodily fluids. And judging by the red, brownish color they had, it's most likely to be blood.

And the smell in that room had me gagging. The foulest stench I have ever encountered . It was a mixture of rotting flesh and musty, earthy scents such as sweaty socks. It was a very pungent smell. A scent that crawled into your pores.

However, none of these things mattered when I saw the three young women that were locked up in this vast room.
