Chapter 4

"Doc, may client na po kayong naghihintay." ani ng assistant n'ya pagkarating n'ya sa clinic n'ya.

"Sige, papasokin mo na." Aniya rin dito at hinanda na ang pwede n'yang gamitin sa session na iyon.

Nakaupo na si Emily sa couch ng opisina n'ya at hinihintay ang pasyente n'ya para sa oras na iyon ng biglang tumunog ang cellphone n'ya. When she look at it, it was a call from her mother.

"Hey, mom." she said when she answer the call.

"Hey, sweetheart. Good morning." Bati pa nito sakanya.

"Good morning too, mom. How's everything in the house?" she asks her. She knew that there's something going on, something that her mom wants from her.

"Everything's fine over here, sweetheart. Your dad's fine, actually your dad will have a party to be organized this Sunday evening, will you be free for that night? I mean, can you be free?" Her mom really knows how to get her. Just a little baby talk from her, she will get her.

"what's the party all about?" she curiously asked her mom and smiled at her patient who entered her office and signaled to wait for awhile which her patient respectfully understand.

"I don't know, your father haven't said anything to me about the party, he just said that there will be a party and that I should contact you to make sure you'll attend. And oh, by the way, clean your schedule as well for Saturday night because your father wants you to have dinner here sa house because of important matter." kumunot ang noo ni Emily sa sinabing iyon ng mommy n'ya at saka umalis saglit sa opisina n'ya para mabigyan siya ng privacy habang kausap ang mommy n'ya, she's now in her office terrace.

"what important matter? any idea, mom?" tugon n'ya pang naguguluhan sa ina n'ya.

"I have an idea but I can't disclose that idea to you anytime before Saturday because it'll be a surprise." her mom answered na para bang sobrang excited nito.

"mom, sobrang layo pa ng birthday ko para sa mga surprise n'yo ni daddy." tugon n'ya pa sa ina na ikinatawa ng ginang sa kabilang linya.

"silly, it's not a birthday gift, it's different kind of surprise." she said which made Emily sigh.

"fine, I'll clean my schedule for that two nights."

"so it's settled then, Saturday and Sunday, you'll be here. I'm so excited to see you, sweetheart, mommy and daddy misses you so much." may pagtatampo sa boses ng Ina. Madalang kasi siyang bumisita sa mga ito sa kadahilanang busy din siya sa clinic n'ya.

"talaga? namiss ako ni daddy? hindi n'ya nga ako madalas tawagan eh, nakakatampo!" kunwaring pagtatampo n'ya rin para siya yung suyuin ng mommy n'ya. She's used to being vulnerable with her feelings sa parents n'ya, she's close to them and they're the best in handling her and her feelings so much.

"silly, of course your dad misses you so much, you know how busy naman he is diba? just like you. Ikaw nga dapat ang bumibisita samin dito, we visited you last month dapat ikaw naman ngayon." natawa si Emily sa sinabi ng mommy n'ya. She forgot to mention that she and her parents can act childish whenever they're talking.

"alright, I'll be there this Saturday and Sunday naman so you'll see your daughter's pretty face." she jokingly said.

"we perfectly made you, aren't we? we used the best position—" hindi na hinayaan ni Emily na matapos ng mommy n'ya ang sasabihin nito.

"okay, mom, I love you too. I'm hanging up now." she said and immediately hang up the phone. Her mom is secretly green minded and everytime her mom talks about those things to her she will immediately cut her off because it's awkward for her knowing she hasn't experienced those yet. But her mom would just say na kailangan n'ya ng mag-asawa para maranasan n'ya yun and she's not getting any younger so she should consider marrying soon enough.

napabuntong hininga nalang si Emily habang iniisip kung ano bang surprise ang tinutukoy ng mommy n'ya sakanya.

"Doc" bungad sakanya ng assistant n'ya pagkatapos ng session na ginawa n'ya sa apat na pasyente.

"Hey, Amara, anything good you want to say? I'm so tired." aniya pa dito sabay bagsak ng katawan sa swivel chair nito.

"the good news is, you have no more patients for today, that means you're free to go home na doc and also another good news, your friends are here." that makes Emily excited, her friends makes her life more exciting that it is already.

"where are they?" excited n'ya pang tanong sa assistant n'ya na ikinangiti ng assistant n'ya.

Amara has been her assistant for five years now, she knows her well already.

"they're outside, actually kanina pa sila, Doc. Hinintay lang nilang matapos yung last session mo for today." tugon pa nito sa tanong n'ya.

"you can let them in, Amara." she said na ikinatango lang nito at saka lumabas na.

hindi umabot ng minuto, naging maingay na ang opisina n'ya dahil sa mga kaibigan n'ya.

"Hey, Em! we miss you so much, let's go clubbing?" bungad agad ni Mary sakanya na ikinatawa nalang ni Emily. The mahilig mag clubbing, Mary.

tumingin si Emily sa likod ng mga ito at nakita n'ya si Amara na nakangiti habang nakamasid sakanila.

"Amara, thank you for your work today, you can go home now and have a date with your boyfriend." and she wink at her which made her giggle of excitement.

"so what's up again?" balik tingin n'ya pa kay Mary At Ali.

"let's have some party, let's go clubbing." excited pang ani ulit ni Mary na ikinairap lang ni Ali dahil sa kanilang magkakaibigan, si Mary ang mahilig mag club, it's like partying is her safe place kasi everytime she has a problems, it's either she'll talk it out to them or she'll go partying alone.

"nagmukha kanang club." pang-aasar pa ni Ali sa kaibigan na ikinatawa lang ni Emily.

nalukot naman ang mukha ni Emily sa sinabing iyon ni Ali. "Come on, guys. Minsan lang tayo ma-kompleto so why not have fun? A party!" Paliwanag pa nito.

"fine, let's go partying." Emily said na ikinatuwa ni Mary. "I need some drink because I'm tired and something is stressing me." she said.

Inakbayan siya ni Mary. "A drink and a great party music will fix that. We'll talk that out sa club but for now, let's go fetch Matilda sa restaurant n'ya." anito na sinang-ayonan naman ni Emily at Ali.

"Mauuna ako sa club, I wanna surprise Matilda." saad pa ni Ali na sinang-ayonan din ni Emily at Mary.

Emily will gonna get wasted tonight, that's for sure.
