Lawrence and I sat in my office in absolute silence, each thinking about different things.

After what had happened in court that day, I need to strategize properly.

The news had spread throughout the kingdom that the elders were going to appoint another King and there had been massive unrest all day. I asked Lawrence to go into the pack and hear what the people were saying.

Safe to say, they weren't in support of it either because Alpha Kael had a reputation for being brutal and wicked. They didn't want that as a king because that would be their doom.

I'd never heard of him before and Lawrence told me stories that they had heard about him. How he killed people who got his schedule wrong, how he stole babies from their mother when he felt wrong, how he burnt down families in thier homes at will abd the iron first with which he used to rule his people.

Thinking about it, I see no reason why Carlisle would have a person like this as one of his Alphas.
