Finding her fiancé in bed with her sister hits Elinna like a gut punch. The worst part is, her father took the sister’s side and told her to get over it. Being a love child, she was always forced to give up her toys for her sister and now her fiance too? Not only that, they wanted her to marry a man she has never met. The lycan king. Someone she heard was old and frail. The offer was too tempting for Carlisle. A beautiful bride that might just be the key to everything he has been denied. She didn’t know it yet, but she was going to change the course of history. Just not how she thought it would be.

I should’ve known today would be a mess. Honestly, luck has never been on my side.Still, I kept hoping things would change. Just once. Just one good day. But today wasn’t that day.
My name is Elinna Wright. I’m the bastard daughter of Alpha Tim Wright, leader of the Sunshine Pack. He never claimed me. I wasn’t born out of love—far from it.
My mother died giving birth to me. My father blamed me for it. He hated me from the moment I took my first breath. He never showed me kindness, and things got worse after he married someone else.
Early this morning, my step mother, Gina, had asked me to go to the farmers market to pick up some radishes..I'd never understood her obsession with radishes and they never made her cooking taste good..in fact, it tasted even worse than it normally was. As soon as I got to the market, the only shop that sold it was closed and I just stood there looking because I knew that if I went home without them, it would be hell. She hated me without bounds for reasons best known to her. But I had a feeling it had to do with the fact that her daughter, Lily couldn't have a share in my father's properties as per the pack's rules. Also, another situation I couldn't control. “Are you looking to buy radishes? Poor Mr Smith, he's out sick today.” I knew he'd fall sick soon. I asked him to take a couple sick days off but he refused. “Do you know anyone else that sells them?” She shook her head. “Shit.” The blazing hot sun didn't help matters either. My throat felt so parched and it was like I was in the desert. “You know, you could always go to the farm and get them. No one would mind. You're a sweet girl.” At this point, I didn't care anymore. Gina just needed them so I could go home. She showed me to the place and due to the rain that fell the night before, it was so muddy but I just stood there and dreaded my life. Knee deep in mud and dirt, I had to kneel to find the best ones. And I just kept cursing myself for even thinking to agree to.this in the first place but I couldn't back out now. By the time I was done, I couldn't recognize myself again. I knew I was dirty but it didn't matter. If I didn't get home in time to cook dinner, Gina would beat the hell out of me. When we had guests, I was the one who cooked because at least, they could eat it. And she said we had a guest today. I picked up the radishes and washed them and cleaned myself up even though that barely did anything for my appearance.Even though today was a complete mess, I still held on to a sliver of hope to the one good thing in my life—Ben.
As soon as I entered the house, I spotted his car.
My mood that had been in the dumps all day finally rose higher than the clouds and I began skipping like a little girl until I entered the house.
At this point, I'd forgotten how dirty I looked and I just wanted to see my face. Ben was the best person in my life and he made me believe things would be better again. I loved him so much. He wasn't downstairs in the living room so I made my way to my room because I figured that's where he would be because wasn't in my room either. He was sitting on my bed looking at his phone and I smiled brightly when I saw him. I saw his eyes drag all the way down to my feet and I felt cautious as he stood up and walked closer to me. “Don’t come any closer. I'm filthy.” He rolled his eyes and put his phone in his pocket. “And when has that ever stopped me? Before I could protest further, he pulled me in for a tight hug and buried his head in my neck. “I missed you. I haven't seen you in a week and you want to stop you from holding me in your arms? How many times do I have to tell you that you're the air I breathe?” Gosh, how did I find a man like this? He was everything I wanted. “I missed you too, Mr Corny. Hope I didn't keep you waiting. I had no idea you were coming.” His bright blue eyes brought joy to my soul. He shrugged. “It's never an issue when I have to wait for you. Are you busy now? I want to spend time with the woman who will become my wife.” I looked over at the radishes at the door. If Gina knew I was back and wasn't making dinner already, she'd kill me. I turned back to him and nodded. “Yes, I'm free. Come sit down with me.” I'd met Ben on one of his visits to my father. I had no idea he was interested in me until he came to speak to me himself. I'd thought that my father would not want him to marry me but to my surprise, he agreed. “Did you have breakfast? I got you something..” Was it possible to fall in love all over again? I spent some time with him while catching up on things that we'd missed. I didn't know who the guests were but we'd spent so much time preparing for them. I was still speaking to him when a maid came and said that my father was calling for him. He placed a kiss on my cheek and stood up. Ben kissed my cheek and stood up.“I’ll be right back. Don’t go anywhere.” I nodded and watched him leave.
This man—he was the love of my life. One day, I’d be his wife.
CARLISLEI watched her through the screen as she cried. Because of me, I'm sure. I couldn't count how many times she must have cried at the office and at home. It had become a daily occurrence. After a while, she looked up at the cameras and stared at them. That was when I knew that she had found out about it. I knew Alex couldn't have told her but Lawrence would have. As much as I didn't know how to handle the issue at hand, I didn't want to be away from her. She looked like she had been through so much stress, stress that I didn't want her to be under. Work had obviously been her distraction from everything that was going on. Lawrence had told me that he had to beg her to leave the office..How much longer did I plan to be mad at her for? I don't know. There was a knock on the door and I turned off the screen.“Come in.” As Gomez walked in, I couldn't help but smile. “Hey.” He walked over to my table and took a seat. “My King, a letter came for you.” I'd told him to call me
ELINNAWhen Gomez told me what happened between him and Carlisle, I didn't know whether to feel happy or sad for him. I mean, I was happy. Happy that he had found his long lost brother and he was no longer alone in life but it was also the fact that they had both gone through so much just to get here. My mind flashed back to when Alex said that he knew who Carlisle's brother was. I wonder if he knew it was Gomez.“He told me what happened between the both of you. Can't you guys just talk things out? There's no reason why things should be going this far. I know he misses you but Carlisle and his pride, you know how it is. We miss you back home.”Do they actually? I'd been in touch with Chase and my mum but nothing from Carlisle or Gomez. I didn't want to call Gomez because I figured that Carlisle would have told him what happened and he would be mad too. “Do you blame me for what happened? Do you think it's my fault?” He answered almost immediately.“How can you say such a thing? Y
CARLISLEI laughed. Because that was the only thing for me to do. As the words came out of Gomez's lips, I became lost in my own world. My body couldn't move nor could my brain even think of the words to say. “I’m sorry for keeping this from you for all these years but I didn't think that you would want to hear me out if I didn't ahev proof. Back then, I wasn't exactly comfortable with telling you things without having candid proof. I feared you would have my head.” He fell at my feet in tears and I just stood there with tears in my eyes as well, saying and doing nothing. What wa I hearing after all these years? My mother had died had died years ago in front of me, my father had equally done same and the last family member I thought I knew had been slain in this very house. That was he only family I knew. But my mother has also died with not just her pain but also a secret. One that she had kept for almost three decades. Gomez was my brother and Darrell King was the doctor who
CARLISLE“Gomez, you should be in bed. I don't see any reason why you're following me down here. I told you I'll be fine, don't worry about me. Go back upstairs.” From the look on his face, I knew he wasn't going to listen to me “Trust me when I say I've been in bed for too long. Please, for the love of everything good, don't send me back to bed. I'll cry. Seeing the bed alone brings bad terrible memories. Memories I don't think I can handle.”I could understand why he wouldn't want to go to bed. Being in bed for that long would do that to you so I let him come down to the cells with me. “Why are you coming down here? Who do you want to see?” My newest addition…I want to see how well she's settling in.As sad as it was going to be, Chase is going to inherit all these enemies or maybe their offsprings. There was nothing I could do about it. Just like my father, I tried to make sure that my son didn't inherit any of my enemies or any of my grudges but the process of doing that just
CARLISLEI went to the pack the next week because I needed to check on things over there. I knew that the remaining battle was at the pack for me to finish. “Where are you now? Are you outside?”I couldn't get out of the car any faster. “Yes, I am!” Before the car could even park, I jumped out to meet Gomez who was already standing outside waiting for me. As I hugged him, I couldn't believe that I was actually holding him in my arms. I don't know how long we stayed there for but Chase's voice made me open my eyes. “Dad!” I left Gomez and picked him up, hugging him closely. He wouldn't know that he came really close to taking over the throne at a really young age. “Hey buddy, how are you? Where's grandma?”“She’s in the house. I missed you, dad. Where's mum?”I looked at Gomez. He didn't know about it either because I hadn't told him. “She’s still at home. She had work to do. Let's go in.” As we entered the house, the guards took Lizzy to the cells. We all stayed silent as th
ELINNA“What did you tell them?” Lawrence asked as I stepped back into the office. I plopped down on the chair and closed my eyes. My heart was beating fast in my chest. “I don't know. They asked about her and I lied to them that she had been transferred to London. I told them that they had a new Vice President so they had to get used to it.”He nodded and looked out the window. He didn't even ask who the new vice president was. I was almost falling asleep in my chair until I heard a knock on my door. My eyes flew open and I had to act like I hadn't just been in Dreamland. It was my secretary. “What is going on? What do you need?” She dropped some files on the table. “Since there hasn't really been anyone at the office, there have been a lot of things that have gone unattended and they need your attention. It's been holding up a lot of progress and even salaries.”That word wiped away every form of fatigue I felt. “What did you say? Salaries? Why would your salaries be held u
