Finding her fiancé in bed with her sister hits Elinna like a gut punch. The worst part is, her father took the sister’s side and told her to get over it. Being a love child, she was always forced to give up her toys for her sister and now her fiance too? Not only that, they wanted her to marry a man she has never met. The lycan king. Someone she heard was old and frail. The offer was too tempting for Carlisle. A beautiful bride that might just be the key to everything he has been denied. She didn’t know it yet, but she was going to change the course of history. Just not how she thought it would be.

I should’ve known today would be a mess. Honestly, luck has never been on my side.Still, I kept hoping things would change. Just once. Just one good day. But today wasn’t that day.
My name is Elinna Wright. I’m the bastard daughter of Alpha Tim Wright, leader of the Sunshine Pack. He never claimed me. I wasn’t born out of love—far from it.
My mother died giving birth to me. My father blamed me for it. He hated me from the moment I took my first breath. He never showed me kindness, and things got worse after he married someone else.
Early this morning, my step mother, Gina, had asked me to go to the farmers market to pick up some radishes..I'd never understood her obsession with radishes and they never made her cooking taste good..in fact, it tasted even worse than it normally was. As soon as I got to the market, the only shop that sold it was closed and I just stood there looking because I knew that if I went home without them, it would be hell. She hated me without bounds for reasons best known to her. But I had a feeling it had to do with the fact that her daughter, Lily couldn't have a share in my father's properties as per the pack's rules. Also, another situation I couldn't control. “Are you looking to buy radishes? Poor Mr Smith, he's out sick today.” I knew he'd fall sick soon. I asked him to take a couple sick days off but he refused. “Do you know anyone else that sells them?” She shook her head. “Shit.” The blazing hot sun didn't help matters either. My throat felt so parched and it was like I was in the desert. “You know, you could always go to the farm and get them. No one would mind. You're a sweet girl.” At this point, I didn't care anymore. Gina just needed them so I could go home. She showed me to the place and due to the rain that fell the night before, it was so muddy but I just stood there and dreaded my life. Knee deep in mud and dirt, I had to kneel to find the best ones. And I just kept cursing myself for even thinking to agree to.this in the first place but I couldn't back out now. By the time I was done, I couldn't recognize myself again. I knew I was dirty but it didn't matter. If I didn't get home in time to cook dinner, Gina would beat the hell out of me. When we had guests, I was the one who cooked because at least, they could eat it. And she said we had a guest today. I picked up the radishes and washed them and cleaned myself up even though that barely did anything for my appearance.Even though today was a complete mess, I still held on to a sliver of hope to the one good thing in my life—Ben.
As soon as I entered the house, I spotted his car.
My mood that had been in the dumps all day finally rose higher than the clouds and I began skipping like a little girl until I entered the house.
At this point, I'd forgotten how dirty I looked and I just wanted to see my face. Ben was the best person in my life and he made me believe things would be better again. I loved him so much. He wasn't downstairs in the living room so I made my way to my room because I figured that's where he would be because wasn't in my room either. He was sitting on my bed looking at his phone and I smiled brightly when I saw him. I saw his eyes drag all the way down to my feet and I felt cautious as he stood up and walked closer to me. “Don’t come any closer. I'm filthy.” He rolled his eyes and put his phone in his pocket. “And when has that ever stopped me? Before I could protest further, he pulled me in for a tight hug and buried his head in my neck. “I missed you. I haven't seen you in a week and you want to stop you from holding me in your arms? How many times do I have to tell you that you're the air I breathe?” Gosh, how did I find a man like this? He was everything I wanted. “I missed you too, Mr Corny. Hope I didn't keep you waiting. I had no idea you were coming.” His bright blue eyes brought joy to my soul. He shrugged. “It's never an issue when I have to wait for you. Are you busy now? I want to spend time with the woman who will become my wife.” I looked over at the radishes at the door. If Gina knew I was back and wasn't making dinner already, she'd kill me. I turned back to him and nodded. “Yes, I'm free. Come sit down with me.” I'd met Ben on one of his visits to my father. I had no idea he was interested in me until he came to speak to me himself. I'd thought that my father would not want him to marry me but to my surprise, he agreed. “Did you have breakfast? I got you something..” Was it possible to fall in love all over again? I spent some time with him while catching up on things that we'd missed. I didn't know who the guests were but we'd spent so much time preparing for them. I was still speaking to him when a maid came and said that my father was calling for him. He placed a kiss on my cheek and stood up. Ben kissed my cheek and stood up.“I’ll be right back. Don’t go anywhere.” I nodded and watched him leave.
This man—he was the love of my life. One day, I’d be his wife.
ELINNA“You’re good. I have to give you that. But you're slow. Do you know how long it took you to realise that I was here? If I wanted to die, I would have killed you in your sleep. What happened to that dog inside you? Couldn't she see me?” I raised the sleeve of my shirt up and saw the marks of my arm. Ice did alert me, I must have been scratching in my sleep but why didn't I wake up? “Who are you and what do you want with him? Why can't you face me without involving him?”I've been with him for so long and he could have killed me then. “I’m Omeca. I hear all my brothers have been coming around and leaving without taking a prize. Well, that's too bad. I've been watching you for a very long time and that's why I decided to come and say hi for myself. So hi.” The way he smiled widely and put his hands behind his back rubbed me the wrong way. But I needed to stay on track. The plan was to get Omeca out of Lawrence's body without any injuries. “What kind of gifts are you talking
ELINNA“I think I know where they're going.” I faced Lawrence. “Really? How?”He sat on the floor beside me. “Before I became a guard here, I was a military guard. I and my team patrolled the pack, the border and the surrounding areas to make sure that there were no enemies hiding to surprise us. One night, we found a couple of fanatics on a mountain, offering sacrifices around a huge fire. It caught us off guard so we almost attacked but we stopped just in time. I got to find out that they were worshippers of the Fatals and people who believe that we were created by them and not the goddess.”What? People were actually stupid enough to think that? That was actually very stupid. But that wasn't what mattered right now. “What mountain is it? We need to go check it out immediately.” He looked at me to make sure that I knew what I was saying but then he helped me stand up and drop the book back on its slate. “Due to the rocky terrain, the car won't be able to take us up a certain
ELINNAWe got to the pack just in time. We had less than twenty four hours to find out where it all started, find out what cursed object they were going to use and make sure that nothing stopped me from being there tomorrow. It was just tomorrow night. I should be able to make it as long as I stay out of the way. We got to the pack in the early morning of Monday. The guards let us through immediately and I didn't even know when we got home because of how tired I was. My eyes were already closing and it took Lawrence tapping me for me to know that we had arrived at the house. He had driven to the old house because I felt going to the old house was too much of a risk. I felt safer here. “Don’t worry, My Queen. Just go inside and I'll get the bags. You don't have to worry. I know you're very tired and sleepy. Don't bother denying it.”Good because I wasn't even trying to. As much as I knew that there was no time to rest, I knew that I wouldn't be able to think because of how tired
CARLISLEHow did they find out that something had happened to Emily except the fact that he would have told them? For the fact that he told them, that means that he's ready to tell them that she's dead and he can't say that without offering a solution. This whole thing was a trap. “So what can be done to resolve this whole thing? It's already getting out of hand and I don't want it to get too serious. The press would have a field day with news like this. They love my family.” He emptied his cup and then set it down, laughing and wiping his lips with the back of his hand. I took a moment to admire his well-tailored three price suit. “Resolve? This case is being transferred to the Supreme Court and you're asking to resolve it? There is nothing that can be done unless you want to confess to the police once and for all and then, they'll drop the case. That's all I can do for you. I've already said too much.”Supreme Court? The moment it gets there, it'll go public and there's nothin
CARLISLEThe entire way home, I had one thing on my mind. Each and everyone of them would pay for what they have done. And I was sure of that. How on earth would they do a thing like that to me? Turn against me when I need them the most? Not on my watch. I hated being betrayed and there is no way I would let them get away with something like this. Revenge. It was my tagline before and it seemed like my leniency has affected the way people look at me and now, they've forgotten who they're dealing with. Since Elinna wasn't around, I had nothing stopping me back from going the extra mile to protect my family. “Gomez, get the DA on the line. Tell him I want to see him immediately. Take some men and visit the commissioner's daughter's school and give her a note for her father. Tell her it's from a friend of his. And as for the president, I need dirt. So much dirt that he can't deny. If all this can't work, then we'll go to the next stage.”I had already walked past him when he asked
CARLISLEIt seemed like I was losing it but no. I was thinking. Scheming. Plotting. What was I going to do? Elinna had been so sure that Lizzy and Kael had been killed in the fire so how the hell were they here again? And now, I needed to ask Elinna all these questions and she was nowhere to be found. She had run away from the hospital. At least, if she had a plan, she should have let me know rather than just disappearing. Alex still didn't have any news for me so I was so confused. First off, I had to deal with the police. If something wasn't done about them, then they would ruin everything. “I need to go see the President. He hasn't done anything about this whole thing.” On my way out of the house, something occurred to me. I should talk to someone who can put an end to this bullshit. Before going to the president, I went to see the commissioner. “Excuse me sir, the Commissioner isn't around. He will see you later. You can't go in-”I ignored his secretary and walked into t
