We let the doctor work in silence. Actually, I didn't have anything to say and before long, there was a lot of blood on the floor.

“I'm sorry about all that.”

He nodded. I'm guessing his rug that was soaking with blood was the least of his worries right now.

When the doctor was done, he left us alone.

“I’m guessing your doctor has seen a lot and knows a lot.”

He grunted and moved away from the window.

“Lucas basically knows where all my bodies are buried. Literally. He's been amy friend for over three decades. He basically raised Emily and he loved her like his own. I don't know what to say to him. How will I tell him now?”

I stood in silence because I didn't even know what to say to him. He looked like he was in silent pain and he just wanted to implode.
