I came out of the car and looked at Lizzy.

“What did you say?”

She stared at me and that's when I noticed that she was holding something behind her back.

What was she planning to do?

How far was she going to go to stop me from going to see Carlisle?

I held her eyes for a while before eventually, she budged and pulled me in for a hug.

“Call me when you get there. I would have loved to go with you but I can't. Someone has to take care of Chase and the company.”

We pulled away from each other and I looked at her. Was she truly fine with this? I don't know.

“I have to get going. I have a long way to go. And I'll be driving.”

We waved goodbye and I drove out of the compound..I'd dropped a letter for Chase to read when he woke up. He liked it when I did that.

I had approximately seven hours ahead of me and at some point, I thought I should just take a flight but then, there's no use..I could use the time on the road to think and plan..
