“What did you say about the new investor? I was on a call when you came in the other time and I was distracted.”

Lizzy rolled her eyes at me.

“I said he came in to see the place and he said he was looking forward to meeting you the next time he came.”

Mmm, at least this time, there was no funny story about our investor being possessed.

I wondered if Lizzy would believe it if I told her. I highly doubted it. The way she hated Carlisle, you'd think he was the one who created the devil.

“Why didn't he just wait till I was back before coming? Now he had to make a double trip.”

She thought about it for a moment then shrugged.

“He had already made plans and he had a trip for Japan the next day so I'm guessing he wanted to finish up business in this part of the world.”

That made sense…it was lunch time and my stomach was actually very hungry. My body was so tired and I was sleepy.
