RICHARD’S POV

I can’t believe Richard skipped mentioning to me that his dad never liked Heather. I wondered why his dad wouldn’t like her. She seemed pretty likeable, like a kitten, and who doesn’t like a kitten? From her attitude, I could tell she was probably the teacher’s pet in school.

If Richard’s dad hated her, that meant she did something or possessed a particular character he didn’t approve of. And Richard just might not be aware. Which is the more reason I need to find out. Perhaps she is not the likeable kitten she pretends to be. Maybe she is a lying snake, a sly fox who is deceiving Richard by appearing all pitiful and stuff.
