Chapter 7

RICHARD’S POV

“Richard, seriously!” a deep, gruff voice scolded from above. Suddenly, the morning paper delivered just an hour ago, was slammed onto the table in front of me as I enjoyed my breakfast.

The loud voice and heavy newspaper landing on the table startled me, making me flinch a little in shock. I spilt some of the hot coffee I was sipping on my pyjama pants, feeling a light sting on my skin through the thin material.

“Whoa! What’s going on?” I exclaimed. Reflexively, I dropped the coffee mug on the dining table and rose from my seat. I glanced up to see my dad’s furious face, his eyes ablaze. I couldn’t help but wonder why the old man was so upset with me again. “Why would you do that…?”

“I made it very clear to you to avoid any scandalous stuff that could harm your image, but it seems you’re doing the exact opposite, and you’re doing it exceptionally well,” he said with a smooth hand gesture, still scowling at me in disapproval.
