I turned back to look at him but was surprised by his sudden move of bending close. I sucked a breath as he stared right into my eyes.

“ I didn't go to meet her but to send her away from our lives forever.” He said and I felt a sudden relief rushing into my body.

“ You did?” I asked, confirming.

“ I had promised you.” He shrugged, moving back but I grabbed his collars and captured his lips into mine, taking him by surprise.
