Flashback:

I watched as Nikolay spoke to Kristina, the man having sent a spy to the games to protect his wife. My daughter.

Watching as the woman walked back inside the building, Nikolay stared at the door after her. Clearly debating whether or not he should follow her, but I also knew that he wouldn’t risk his wife getting harmed. I respected him for that. The love I saw him having for Kiara made me thankful that their marriage has been arranged. That they managed to find a middle line which had united the two of them.

I watched as the man got out of the building and toward the car where Vladimir was waiting for him and debated. I needed their help, and unfortunately, I knew that the men hated my very existence in this world. The fact that I had ‘kidnapped’ Kiara from the house being the last straw. But I couldn’t keep her there knowing that danger lurked around the corner.
