Chapter Twenty Five

Sarah cautiously entered the house, her eyes widening in surprise at the mess that greeted her. She could hardly believe her eyes as she took in the chaos that surrounded her. Slowly, she made her way towards her mother, who was seated with a troubled expression.

"Mom, what's happening? Why is everything in such a mess?" Sarah asked, her brow furrowing with concern. She could see the distress written all over her mother's face, and it made her heart ache.

Her mother looked up, her eyes filled with sadness and worry. "Oh, Sarah," she began, her voice trembling slightly, "remember when I told you about your father's business troubles?" Her words hung heavily in the air, and Sarah could feel the weight of them settling on her shoulders.

Sarah nodded slowly, her own worry growing with each passing moment. "Yes, I remember," she replied, her voice filled with apprehension. "But what does that have to do with the state of the house?"
