His footsteps were ones that annoyed me today. I wanted anything but to be with him, but I knew that a man like him failed to take a hint.

“Do you understand what it is to be asked to be left alone?” I asked, not bothering to turn to look at the man.

“I don’t think that you expect me to keep you here after what happened.” He said, and I scoffed.

“I expect you to go to hell, but I can’t have everything, can I?” I asked, and he took a deep breath.

“I’m sorry,” he said, making me frown in confusion. “For what happened earlier, I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to hurt you.”

I turned to look at the man, and he took a step back. “Why did you come here, Diablo? Because I doubt that a man like yourself would apologize to the woman that he calls an enemy.”
