Chapter 10

Asher just finished his business call with his partners on the phone. He decided to check up on his mother.

He saved Ivana from drowning at the pool, he was not able to attend to her because of a business meeting he had to hold on the phone.

His mood got ruined when he heard his mother talk badly of Ivana. He was surprised to find her conspiring with Cassie and Anna.

He watched how Ivana was helpless and he took it upon himself to stand up for her.

“Mom, Ivana is the one for me.” His voice echoed in the garden.

“What do you mean son, how is she the one for you? She's not just good enough for you, the earlier you know it the better for you.” Cassie was furious as she yelled out.

Ivana cowered in fear, she was trying to hide the pain that gnawed at her heart. The voices in her head keep reminding her she's not good enough.

She was grateful Asher could defend her. Her low self esteem was high at this point.

Asher stood beside her, holding her hand while she held onto his hand tightly.
