Kelvin’s POV

The afternoon air was thick, clinging to my skin like invisible cobwebs. I stood just outside the house, murmuring with one of the guards, barely listening, my mind replaying the moment my girlfriend rushed inside without me.

My gut tightened. I should’ve gone in with her. I knew better.

I was about to go inside when I saw him.

Kael. My twin.

Storming out of the house with the sharp, impatient gait of a predator. His black shoes thudded against the stone steps like war drums. A bolt of panic cracked through me, loud and fast. I made a terrible mistake letting Diana go in alone, but I had no idea he was in there.

My breath caught in my throat as images flashed, Diana, wandering those dim hallways, her soft footsteps echoing through the dark... and this damn hybrid lurking like a shadow with the same face as me.

Fvck! I've messed up.

I hated how much we looked alike. Same black shirt, same black trousers. The only difference: I had the damned red tie knotted at my throat. I

Diana’s POVThe moment Kelvin stopped the car, I practically flung the door open, lunging out like a startled deer sensing the arrow aimed straight for its heart. The hot afternoon air hit me like a slap, sharp and urgent.“Diana, wait…” his voice trailed behind me, calm but desperate. But I didn’t stop. I was already slipping through the heavy front door, swallowed by shadows. My heart was pounding, not just from the thrill of sneaking into a house I barely understood, but from the prickling fear of being caught by his father again. The memory of last time, humiliated, desperate, scrambling through a window, burned fresh in my mind. I refused a repeat.I had to find Kelvin’s room. Simple. Or so I thought. The house was bigger than I remembered, corridors stretching endlessly like veins pulsing with secrets. Each turn growing colder and more unfamiliar than the last. The air heavy and thick with the scent of polished wood and faint perfume. The marble floor beneath my feet gleamed lik

Kael’s POVThe best damn news I’d heard all year hit me... mid-orgasm.“Alpha Kael!” George’s panicked voice shattered the air as he barged into my bedroom like the world was ending.Only the tangle of duvet and limbs between me and the door kept his eyeballs intact.I’d love to say I handled it with grace.“What the hell, George?!” I snarled, breath ragged, sweat slicking my chest as I yanked the duvet higher over both me and the brunette… no, redhead? Whatever… that I brought home from the club last night. She was currently curled under me, her lips still swollen from hours of sin and her hands possessive around my waist. She giggled beneath me, more entertained than ashamed.George stumbled back, hands raised like he was staring down at a wild animal. “Election update, sir. It’s important.”“Out!” I snapped.“But your father…”“George, I swear to the Moon Goddess…”He caught the warning in my voice and slammed the door shut in a flash, his shoes squeaking on the polished floor like

Kelvin’s POVMy phone buzzed on the nightstand with such violence it nearly launched itself into oblivion.Diana.Her name glowed on the screen like an emergency flare. I lunged for it, still half-lost in sleep, my fingers fumbling across the glass. My eyes were bleary, lids sticky with exhaustion. I hadn’t heard from her since yesterday. I’d assumed, hoped, she was resting.I answered with a hoarse, “Hey babe.”Her voice crashed through the speaker like a hurricane slamming into the coast.“Kelvin, what the hell is wrong with you?!”I sat up like I’d been electrocuted.“Diana…”“No! Don’t Diana me!” she snapped, breath shaky, voice full of barely contained tears. “How could you just stay there without me?! Like I was some disposable thing?! Why did you tell Eva to drag me home like a dog you got tired of?! Do you even care how I felt? I was humiliated, Kelvin!”The last word lacerated the air.I blinked, my heart stuttering, mind still untangling itself from sleep. The sheets were a

Diana’s POVEva had changed outfits for the fiftieth time. No exaggeration.First, it was a navy-blue off-shoulder dress with gold trim that shimmered faintly like moonlight on water. Then a burgundy satin gown that clung like melted wine. After that came a glittery pink number that turned her into a walking disco ball. And now, she was standing frozen in front of the mirror in an emerald-green wrap dress, her brows furrowed, lips pressed together, arms crossed tight across her chest like armor.I was losing my mind watching her unravel.A sharp, choking laugh burst from me as I collapsed backward onto her bed, limbs sprawled like a starfish on a tide-washed shore. “Eva, it’s a blind date. He doesn’t even know what you look like. Why do you care so much?”She didn’t laugh with me. Instead, her eyes focused on the mirror like it held all her answers. “You don’t understand, Diana. I have to look good. This is… life or death.”“Excuse me?” I straightened, still chuckling, but more curiou

Kelvin’s POVThe scent of lilies used to comfort me.Now, they make me sick. The morning sun pierced through my curtains in slanted golden blades, bright, warm, and entirely unwelcome. It bled across my room like spilled honey, touching everything I didn’t want touched.Today wasn’t a day for light.Today was Diana Jones’ memorial. The Kelvin from four years ago would've been in her grave before the sun even rose. He would've carried fresh lilies, red ones, her favorite, their petals trembling in his shaking hands. He’d have cried until his lungs gave out, arranging the flowers with obsessive care, as if every perfect placement might rewrite the past. Might bring her back. But that Kelvin was long gone. Now, I am sitting at the edge of my bed like someone half-alive, staring at the withering lilies scattered across my floor. I hadn’t even bothered putting them in water. Their once-bright crimson had dulled to blood-rust. Their scent hung in the room like grief trapped in a bottle, thi
