The fingerprint.

Her head ached as the thought of what that single fingerprint could do to her made her flight miserable. She couldn’t sleep. She couldn’t eat a single bite. Her belly clenched as nausea from her recklessness overwhelmed her. What else did they have that could bring her doom?

That’s right! She thought as her heart fell to the pit of her belly. They had found the ring in the hotel she spent with Noel. All they needed was a time frame to put her in Foreda at the time of the theft and her world would come crashing down on her head. No two fingerprints were the same. She was destined to be doomed. All her efforts in the last 10 years would amount to nothing. She was her father’s daughter. She had two choices. Become a fugitive like him or surrender herself to the police. None of them appealed to her but if things got worse, she would give up her freedom and live her life in prison forever if that was where she would find her peace.
