Chapter 3

Mari Kristine

Fae followed me from behind after I walked out of the mall. I even heard the slap she made as I walked out to Alex, this girl is really a bitch. As always.

“Mari! Wait for me you fast pace mover! Hey!” She yelled just like a kid who is following and pleading with her mom not to leave her alone at the kindergarten.

I stopped my track after I got out of the mall. She hurried towards me and smacked my shoulders. She always has that much strength whenever she slams her hands.

“Ouch! Fae, stop it.” I screamed. Heck, it’s so painful for all you know. This woman!

“I did not believe my own eyes just now, Mari. I mean you… you just did it great, wow! Do you know how savage you were a while ago?” She praised me.

“With just that small thing and you are now acting like you have won the lottery?” I asked her with disbelief. She is unbelievable, okay?

“But who knows you will act like that? You gave Alex a bit of hope and then you dumped him just like he is nothing but garbage to you anymore.” She answered my question. Oh gosh, I will cut your tongue!

My face stared at her blankly and just stood in my position unmoved and quiet. I did not even spit out a word that can totally break my guards down. I wanted to strengthen my defense.

“Oh… sorry. I should have just shut my mouth.” She awkwardly mumbled when she understood what I wanted.

Just as she was about to open her dear mouth again, her phone rang. She picked it up and made a bigger space  between us. She was intently listening to the person on the other line while she was frowning.

“Uhm… Mari.” She called me in a low tone and sadly expressed her feeling sorry. “I am really sorry.” She smiled awkwardly.

I suspected that there was something wrong again. “What’s going on? Just tell me.” I asked her.

“Mari, I am really sorry for your ruined love life. If Alex is not only a jerk, I suppose that you two can still be together and have the chance together.” She fired, making me confused.

“Look… I do not need those kinds of men, Fae. He is not the man I want to spend my life with. I do not want anything else especially if I will only waste my time.” I explained to her too.

“What I mean is, I am sorry because I can’t comfort you right now nor hang out with you and help you avoid those things you have in mind. I am facing a big problem right now and I need to solve it quickly. Or else, I will be fired by the boss.” She muttered, giving me a pleading look to let her go.

“Then you must go and report now. Not giving me further explanation for you getting absent on your friend’s gloomy day.” I replied to her with irritation.

“Thanks Mari! I will surely catch up with you the next day and hang with you on the other one. Sorry for the trouble again. I promise to compromise.” She sincerely apologized.

“I better forgive you than forgive Alex, Fae.” I laughed awkwardly which made her pout. How cute!

“Then bye for now. See you when I see you, Mari!” She walked away quickly before she ran to the parking lot and hopped in her car.

I shook my head. Rich people always want to be with their kind. These elites are always like that. I once hoped to join them but no. Surely, I will never want to try diving into their circle again.

I walked outside and saw a nearby park. The park today has many more visitors than usual. I looked at the crowd flocking over and saw someone filming. Oh! So there’s someone famous there. I wonder who that big personality is.

I passed the park and sat on the brick pavement. I am confused right now about what to feel because things turned out so bad. Maybe crying is better than this feeling I have right now: emptiness.

I don’t even know when things started this way that even if I wanted to ask Alex, well it feels like I just have to move on from it. Maybe when he tells me that they have been seeing each other for months now, I will break down in front of them.

Staring at the busy street, I was reminded how happy we have been. I burst into tears knowing that it will never happen again. My vision is blurry and my head hurts a lot.

Someone approached me. I looked at the man standing beside me, he’s somewhat familiar. His tall figure and bright smile showing his pair of dimples made him look gorgeous, girls would definitely pull their chances up to climb in his bed.

But who the fuck would care who he is or what is he up to. He’s up to no good for me, I am certain of that! Right. Definitely he’s up to no good especially right now that he is actually disturbing me from crying my heart out. Bastard!

“Miss Rossier.” The man said casually as he was smiling from ear to ear.

“Have we met before?” I asked, wondering how he’d known how to address me. Seriously, who the hell is this guy?

“Of course, Miss Rossier!” He exclaimed, responding to my question without any further explanation.

“What the?” I blurted out, unaware of who the heck this guy was.

If he’s one of those guys out there pulling up pranks with every person they happen to meet while messing up, then this doesn’t count. I’m out!

“You don’t remember me anymore? Really?” He asked while displaying a face with disbelief and a little bit of a sarcastic tone. Do I really look like I’m joking?

“Seriously, dude. Would I ever ask if I know who the hell you are?” I replied irritated.

This doesn’t help at all. I’ve driven all the way here just to get disturb by this man. I thought this place would be better to rant about my problems. Turns out I will happen to meet some random guy who does not know the word privacy huh?

“Lamier. Remember that surname?” He asked me again. This isn’t a guessing game for Pete’s sake!

“I remember one of those dudes back then having the same surname as the one you’ve just told me. He is an arrogant football player who for the record was an amazing womanizer.” I casually answered without any hesitation on bashing the most hateful guy I am pissed with.

Well that’s some sort of a matter of fact. Dos Lamier is a well-known football motherfucker whom the girls treated like a celebrity back when I was in high school.

He looked a bit stunned. Then he raised his left brow while he began acting out like he’s getting some damn heartache. He even put his hands on his left chest and clutched it. What the hell?

“You sound like I’m a playboy, Miss Rossier. That hurts big time. Can you at least give me another description other than me being a womanizer?” He demanded.

Oh… so this guy really is Dos Lamier. Cool.

“I don’t have time to chat with you, Dos. If you want someone to give you compliments, go to hell!” I yelled at him before pushing one of his legs.

“I wasn’t here to disturb you bitch! Your arrogance has gotten into my nerves. Get up there and stop being a crybaby!” He shouted back at me, pissed.

“Crybaby my ass! Shut up, will you? What brings you here?” Irritated, I got up and faced him. He’s tall. But his knitted brows irritates me.

Without giving a word, he grabbed me by the arm and dragged me all the way to the mall and dragged me inside again. So, what now?
