Chapter 31- Melted tears

“Hello, Thena,” she heard a voice, and her heart soared with despair, sadness, and hope. She knew that voice all too well. In fact, she wanted that voice to call her name again and again. She didn’t need an introduction to who it was.

“Toro?” she ran to her brother, hugging him tightly. The teenager stumbled back due to the force with which Athena hugged him but composed himself in a second and returned the hug, not wanting to let go either.

Athena’s sadness dripped down her eyes like the river waiting to hit the dam after the first ice melted. The icicles in her heart melted one by one, flowing down. A strange feeling settled in her stomach, the feeling of sadness and hope. Sad that she and her brother couldn’t be together and they had to meet in secret.
