Leona and her mother sat in the car in silence, both of them dreading to step into the house. Leona would occasionally sneak quick glances at her mom only to get the same enraged glare back at her.

"We better pray that your dad doesn't find out about this," her mother finally said in a strict tone before her soft brown eyes and clenched jaw softened a bit.

"Leona....why didn't you tell me about this? You've been so distant ever since the accident at Greenville, and I just knew that with your personality, something like bullying was bound to happened...."

Mrs.Denver took a deep sigh before finally facing her daughter. "I want to be more involved in your life now more than ever since you're growing up. I know I'm always really busy or at work, but I still want you to open up to me."

Leona looked down as her mother placed her hands on both sides of Leona's face, carrying a faint smile.
