The swinging double door slammed shut and they were alone.
Her heart pounded from the unexpected contact with him when he had freed her from Christian's grip. She could still feel the warmth of his body on her back, the firm arm around her stomach, the breath that had brushed her hair. She hadn't been able to classify his reaction and was paralyzed.
She stood still now, too, but for a different reason than before. Though she was really determined to act confident, she just wasn't.
