Aurora's POV
As I stepped into the bathroom, the sweet smell of Jasmine filled the air. The warm light of the candles illuminated the room making my skin feel at peace. The tender hand of my right handmaid, Elena gently loses the lace of my corset and I watched as the dress fell on the floor revealing my body to the maids. I climbed into the tub and let the warm water calm my body. I had a long day, today was I and Elijah's sixth wedding anniversary and I had to plan the party. “My lady, what do you plan on doing tonight?” Elena, my best friend asked as she poured warm rose and milk water on my hair. After the death of my mother, I had to move in with my Father and step family and that was how I met Elena, she was a maid there and we became friends. “Did they arrange Elijah's room yet?” I asked in sign language. I was able to hear but I couldn't speak, I was mute, people of the pack called me dumb and never respected me because of it. Everyone of my personal maids and guards had to learn sign language to communicate with me but my husband Elijah didn't bother, he just has people interpret it for him. “No, we weren't able to arrange the room, Alpha Elijah was busy in his room,” Elena explained, I forced a smile on my face and nodded my head in understanding. He was always busy in his room, I knew he was busy with his mistress and it hurt so much. Ever since I got married to Elijah, we haven't consummated our marriage and we have never shared a room. Time was running out and I needed to keep my place as the Luna of this pack, I had a little respect because of him and I didn't want to return to my family so I needed to consummate our marriage tonight and carry an heir. “Aurora!! Aurora!!” Elijah yelled as he stepped into the bathroom, “Leave this minute!!” he yelled at everyone. My eyes fell on his body and he was wearing a trouser and a blue robe that wasn't buttoned. “Where do you think you are going?” He asked Elena as she was about to leave, “Who is going to interpret what this dummy is saying?” I felt a painful feeling in my chest when I heard him say dummy, his insult isn't new but I kept feeling pain everytime he said something. “Come out, I'm talking to you and cover up,” Elijah looked at me with disgust as those words left his mouth. I immediately felt self conscious of my body, Elena passed me a cloth, I came out of the tub and used it to wrap around my wet and soapy body. “Why did you enter my room? You know I hate those flowers, why did you tell them to arrange my room?” Elijah's face reddened with anger, “You always do that nonsense every year.” “You must be angry? I'm sorry, I was just arranging your room so we could spend the night together,” I explained feeling guilty and Elena interpreted for him. The guilt went through the window as I saw Elijah burst into laughter, “You think I would spend the night with you in my room?” Those words hurt like paper cutting through the flesh but I kept my feeling outside, “You are such an annoying fool, just get ready for the event.” “I'm tired, let's not argue, just get ready for the event,” Elena interpreted what I didn't say and I stared in disbelief. She has always done that ever since we were kids. Elena had learnt sign language because of me, I wasn't always mute but circumstances made me this way and ever since she learnt sign language, she always interpreted what she wanted to the people who didn't understand it. “Let me warn you,” Elijah took threatening step to me and pointed his finger at my face, “Don't you ever step foot into my room again else you will face my wrath, you keep forgetting you were sold to me,” Elijah hissed, his shoulder bumped into me and I lose my balance a bit as he walked out of the bathroom. “My lady, are you okay?” Elena rushed and held me. Elijah was always this way, he was constantly reminding me that my stepmother had sold me to him in exchange for power for both packs. “Luna,” One of the maids entered the bathroom as I entered the tub. “How dare you come in here? Can you see that Luna isn't in the mood?” Elena yelled. She wasn't just my friend but was my voice in some situations. “Luna, I'm sorry, I just wanted to inform you that your sister Indigo is around and has sent you a dress for your wedding anniversary party. A huge smile made its way to my face as Indigo's name was mentioned. Despite being ill treated at my Father's house and by the pack. Indigo was the only one who treated me right, she didn't allow me to feel the absence of a mother. “Where is she?” I asked and Elena interpreted. “She is somewhere around the house, my lady I will drop the clothes in your room,” The maid said, I nodded my head and with my permission, she left to my room. “Hurry, I must go see Indigo, this is the first time in a long time she is coming to my house,” I said out of excitement. My heart was so happy to see her. “Sure, my lady,” Elena laughed lightly. She called the other maid inside the room to pamper my body and my hair. When I came out of the bathtub, I didn't wait for them to dry my body, I wrapped the cloth around my body and ran to the room. I desperately wanted to put on the dress Indigo had sent to me and go see her. “My lady, your family and relatives have arrived,” One of the guards announced. The guests were already coming. I should hurry up to the ballroom so I could welcome them. I dressed up in the blue and white dress Indigo had gotten for me, they adorned me with jewelry and the maids did my makeup so I would look the finest in the room. “Alpha Elijah wouldn't dare take his eyes off you tonight,” one of the maids said and it made me blush. “Thank you,” I smiled at her, “Let's go check for Indigo,” I said to Elena through the mirror. “Y'all can retire to your different duties!!!” Elena announced and we left my room. I didn't want anyone to look for her, I wanted to give her a surprise. After checking everywhere including the ballroom, my room and all the places she could have gone, I didn't see her. I wondered where she could have gone, “My lady, let's just go and welcome the guest, we will see her at the party,” Elena said and I nodded my head in disappointment. I knew I was going to see her so I would just wait until I do. I was going downstairs when I heard a noise coming from Alpha Elijah's room. I had a feeling he was with another woman but today of all days. Did he really hate me that much? I was hurt but I had to pretend like I didn't know for my marriage to be kept. Alpha Elijah's room door was slightly opened so I had asked Elena to close the door but she stood Frozen, her mouth hanging open as her eyes widened. I touched her shoulder and she hurriedly shut the door. That was suspicious and her reaction was like she had seen a ghost. “My lady we should go greet the guest,” Sweat foam on Elena's forehead and I could tell the smile on her face was forced. “Move away from the door,” I expressed myself with a straight face so she could understand I wasn't in the mood for play. Elena shut her eyes tight and gave me a way to see for myself. I opened the door and the sight before me almost made me throw up, I felt weak in the knees as my head could only voice her name, “Indigo?” NOTE: The Luna Aurora didn't speak, she is mute so she uses sign language to communicate with people. She can hear and understand what everyone is saying, she can also read their lips but she can't utter a single word.Aurora's POVMy heart sank seeing the position they were locked in, my husband Elijah and my sister Indigo were locked in an intimate embrace. Indigo was sitting on the desk, her legs wrapped around Elijah's waist and they were both naked. “I finally get to have you in the room alone,” It sounded like torture hearing Indigo moan out those words.“I have missed you,” I clenched my fist so hard.Indigo's eyes met mine or maybe it was just my imagination, she smiled, “I love you,” she kissed him on the lips.My personal bodyguard, Scott, also Elena's mate, closed the door, “Luna, I think it's time to welcome the guest.”“Are you aware of this?” I asked angrily and he ignored me, he knew. Scott knew about the affair of my husband with my sister. How could he not tell me?“Do you also think I'm a joke?” Tears rolled down my eyes.“I just wanted to protect you, I'm sorry,” Scott apologized, I didn't want to listen to anything so I ran away.“Just let her be,” I heard Elena say.I ran to t
Aurora's POVMy world crashed before my eyes, I was angry, I was sad yet I couldn't do anything about it, I couldn't even express myself.“She has to return to her pack,Will she be accepted?I don't think Alpha Elijah marked her as his mate,What will she do now? Will she be bullied again?Who will accept her now?Even if someone was going to accept her, it would be someone of a lower rank or someone who doesn't have a status,Her family will definitely have a lot to spend,She might be alone forever,Or she might end up being a mute mistress,What will happen to her now?” I shut my eyes tight as I could hear these whispers loud and clear. I couldn't dare look into their eyes, I could feel them judging me.I laughed within myself, I should be the one rejecting him in front of everyone but he was doing it, my life was a fucking joke.I walked to meet Indigo, “Please, save me, please.”Indigo looked at me with indifference, this was the first time she looked at me this way, she had al
Aurora's POVI ran as my legs could take me but the wolves appeared from nowhere and attacked me. I was fighting for my life when another wolf, who came from heaven knows where and attacked the other wolves. I was surprised how just one wolf attacked many wolves till they ran away.I was weak and transformed into a human, I used my hand to cover the intimate part of my body. The person who turned into a wolf turned back into his human form and his guard handed him a long robe and he wore the robe over his body.“Are you that easy to bully?” The person said without facing me. That was the voice I heard earlier.“Get her something to wear from the market,” he instructed one of his guards without sparing me a glance.I was grateful, he respected me and didn't turn but who was this man? What was the reason I could hear his voice? The guard handed me a garment and I wore it. “Are you that weak that you can't fight them off?” he turned to look at me and surprised rather shocked appeared on
Aurora's POV The ballroom fell into total silence as everyone watched with different expressions on their faces. What was this? What exactly does this man want? I have nothing to offer, so why was he asking for my hand in marriage right in front of everyone? “So will you take my offer, Aurora?” The Lycan King, Tristan asked with a smile on his face. Even at this moment, my eyes searched the crowd for my ex-husband, Alpha Elijah, and he also looked shaken. “That's a rather hastening decision Lycan,” Father stood between us, “And at that in front of everyone.” I let out a breath of relief when I saw Father in my front. Thank goodness, because how would I have dealt with this situation? “I'm speaking to the lady in question. Do you have a problem with that, sir?” Tristan furrowed his left eyebrows. “My daughter is tired and must retire home,” Father bowed his head as a sign of respect, “Elena you should take her home.” I turned back one more time; Father and the Lycan King were
Lycan Tristan's POVI sat on the bed while the maids massaged my legs and my hair with oil.The first time I saw Aurora, there was something about her that intrigued me so badly, and proposing to her at the party last night wasn't part of my plan. It just kinda happened.“What madness was that?” Mother barged into my room.“We should learn to knock,” with a wave of my hand, the maids picked up their things and left my room, “What madness are we talking about?”“Why did you make such an announcement in front of everyone?” Mother scoffed and folded her hands across her chest.“About my marriage?” I stood up, walked to the table, and poured wine into a cup for her, “I thought you would be happy that I was getting married?”I handed Mother the wine, but she ignored it, and I kept it back on the table, “Yes, I'm happy that my son would finally be getting married, but to a mute? Hell no, I thought it would be Ava.”“Ava?” I raised my left eyebrow, “Ava isn't bad; given the chance, I would m
Aurora's POVFather would never do such a thing, he would never get me married to anyone without telling me. That was Stepmother's nature, not Father's nature.Elena held my hand, “You should understand your father,” I pushed her hand from mine and ran inside the house.“Why would you bring us here to insult us?!” Omega Nickolas yelled at stepmother, and I didn't even care, “We will get to the bottom of this,” He held his wife's hand and left.“Why did you do that without consulting me first?!!” stepMother yelled, “Didn't I say I was going to get one of our youngest daughters married to the Lycan so why did you arrange your daughter's marriage with him?!!”I was angry at Father, but seeing the situation, I couldn't say anything, “Father did the right thing,” Justin said, “I would have done it if he hadn't done it.”“Excuse me?” Stepmother spat as she placed her hand on her waist.“Your eldest daughter destroyed her first Marriage and now you want to get your younger daughter married t
Aurora's POV Looking at myself in the mirror, I could see a girl wearing a beautiful wedding dress with no smile on her face. She didn't look happy. I prayed something would happen and the wedding would get canceled but nothing. I was staring at my empty self, waiting to be taken to the altar. “You look beautiful, even more precious than last time,” Elena complimented but I wasn't feeling any compliment at the time. “What's going on now?” I asked curiously, “I have been in this dressing room for a long time.” “Nothing, your Father will come soon; everyone is already at the church waiting,” Happiness radiated from Elena's face as she stared at me. “Aurora,” I turned towards the door when I heard Father's voice and I ran to hug him, “Let's go,” I nodded my head and followed Father. I held Father by his arms as we walked down the aisle; the hall was so full, and there weren't many people at my wedding with Alpha Elijah, but this was different. I lowered my gaze the whole time to
Aurora's POV When the light came on, the concern on Tristan's face slowly turned to disappointment then anger. “What the hell are you doing in my room?!!!” Tristan yelled and I felt it in my bones, “Why are you dressed like that?” What type of stupid question was he asking? Didn't he ask them to take me to this room earlier and wasn't he the one who kept this night garment on the bed? “How dare you come into my room dressed in such a manner?!!” Tristan yelled, he looked around the room with disgust, “What is going on with my room? Why is it like that?” I could feel the anger all the way across the room, Tristan picked up a robe and shoved it forcefully into my hand. He held my arms and dragged me out of the room. Tristan pushed me, and just as I was about to fall, His Grandma held me, and I fell into her arms. I stood up to thank her when I realized almost everyone in his family was standing in front of his door. Tristan's loud voice must have brought them here. “What's going o
Aurora's POV I could hear the sounds of crickets, owls, and the rain hitting against the roof as I banged on Diana's door. There was no star, but the moon was extremely bright; it could be used as a light in a dark home. I was shivering from the cold.My hand stopped midway when I heard voices from inside the house“Aurora?” Diana said when she opened the door for me, she looked shocked and surprised to see me.A blanket was wrapped around her body and she held a lantern with two people who appeared to be workers standing behind her, “Why are you standing out here in the rain?” I didn't know what to tell her but I still wanted to say something, “I…. I…..” I broke down in tears when my lips couldn't form any words.“Come in,” She pulled me into her house, “You are soaking wet, let's get you changed into something.”I removed my dress and handed it to Diana. She passed me a blanket, and I wrapped it around my body. I had never been to Diana's place, “Have some,” She poured me a cup of
Aurora's POV I paused when I felt a drop of Tristan's tear on my shoulder, “I married her,” He mumbled against my neck.“What? What is going on?Did he really marry her?Does that mean she is the third wife?Didn't Queen Aurora banish Ava?Why is Aurora even hear?” The whispers in the hall made me feel weak.It felt like a storm had hit me; I wish I could go back to when Tristan and I were dancing; then, I wouldn't have heard such, or maybe I didn't hear well.I shut my eyes when Tristan's tears touched me again, “Aurora, I married Ava,” Now I was sure I heard well. I turned to Tristan, but I couldn't see anyone, I couldn't hear anyone; in the hall full of whispers and people, I could hear only Tristan's voice and see him.I searched his eyes for any joke but his eyes were red. I didn't see the love I had seen earlier, I saw fear and sorry in those eyes.My hands shook uncontrollably, but I managed to touch his face. I wanted him to tell me it was a joke, but his silence only made m
Aurora's POV The light stopped flickering as the person stood under the light. It was a woman who was dressed in black from head to toe, she was barefooted with a lot of anklets on her ankle. She wore a lot of jewelry, she looked like she was in her late 60s or early 70s, and she had a big black mole by the side of her nose. She had a big black bag in her right arm and she held the bell in her left hand.“Who let her in?!!!” Mother yelled, “Who let this insane woman in?!!”“They will all die, y'all will die!!!” She yelled, “She will kill all of you!!!”The woman walked closer and stopped in front of me. Tristan held my hand and stood in front of me shielding me from the woman.“You have made the biggest mistake of your life; you have failed to protect what should be protected, and if you don't change it, you will lose her, and she will die!!! She will die!!!” The woman yelled in Tristan's face.“A Mother shielded her children, but one child has made the other child her enemy, and she
Aurora's POV I turned to look at her. I couldn't believe we just met after a long time, and this is what she had to say, “What?” I was too stunned to speak, but come to think of it, what was she plotting?I wanted to believe it was a harmless joke, but Indigo isn't one to joke, especially since she hates me.“Bye,” Indigo winked at me, but before I could say anything to her, she walked away.I wanted to ignore the nonsense she said, but for some reason, I couldn't. Indigo was capable of a lot of things; it was hard, but I managed to ignore the negative words.“What is the matter, my Lady?” Elena said when I entered my room and I furrowed my eyebrows, “You are sulking.”“Ahh,” I sighed, there was no need to raise concern, “It's nothing.”“My Lady, Queen Diana has asked you to read the letter that there was something important she found out and you need to know about it,” Elena delivered Diana's message.“Oh, okay, I will read it,” I opened the drawer I had placed it in and brought it
Aurora's POV TWO YEARS LATER, “Did you send all the invitations out? Everything?” I questioned Elena as I stood in front of the mirror and watched the modiste do the fitting for my dress.I was sending out my four wedding anniversary invitation cards. I wanted to hold a party to celebrate it.“Yes, I already did,” Elena answered, “Queen Diana sent you a letter,” I took the letter from Elena's hand with a smile on her face. Tristan didn't declare Diana missing the way she wanted to; her position as the second Queen still remained the same; Tristan had informed everyone that Diana was going on a long trip.I looked at the letter with so much love, Diana always writes to me every month and I do the same, “You look beautiful in color,” I lifted my gaze when the modiste complimented, “I'm happy we get to see you were colored after two years.”“Thank you,” I smiled. Things have gotten better in the past year; in the first year, I almost lost my mind; I tried to end my life so many times
Aurora's POVSeeing Tristan cry and look miserable like this really broke me. I was scared of so many things, but right now, I was scared of what would happen to Ava.I didn't mean to push her off the stairs; I didn't even mean to speak to her that way; I was just annoyed that she was willing to offer her child for me to take care of when she didn't understand what I was feeling.Seeing everything that has happened has given me the strength to stand again; I might not be fully happy, but I want to try to smile for my daughter, my Father, my Mother, and my brother in heaven, and I also want to smile for the people on earth.I relaxed in Tristan's arms as I poured my heart out in this cold. I didn't hear him make any noise but I felt his tears on my head. “Tristan I….”“Lycan,” I paused when I heard Travis's voice and Tristan stood up to his feet.“Why are you…..” Tristan paused, and for some reason, I felt anxious, “What happened?”“Lady Indigo has woken,” I smiled but still felt weir
Tristan's POV Hearing those words leave Diana's lips sounded like a betrayal to me; I paused and turned to her angrily, “What did you just say?”“It's almost seven months now, and there is no improvement; let your Mother clean up the room. Maybe then Aurora would understand the reality,” Diana said.“How can you say that, you know that's how Aurora is coping,” I was trying my best not to yell at her.“Don't you think she has mourned enough?” My lips felt sealed as a part of me understood what she was saying and a bigger part of me felt she was spewing nonsense.I jerked my hand off her hand, “You cannot tell a Mother when to stop mourning the loss of her child.”“I know that very well but what if that's the only way to bring her out of this depression?” I glanced at Diana, opened the door, and left the office.I didn't walk; I ran to the nursery; when I got to the entrance of the north Wing, my legs refused to move further as I saw Mother and some guards throwing the things out of th
Tristan's POV I stood carefully behind Aurora trying my best not to make a sound as she hummed softly while trimming flowers in the garden. I was cold; I wondered if she wasn't cold as the snow had been falling heavily for some days now. These few months have been the hardest; Aurora wasn't eating; all she takes is tea; she walks around the garden looking distant and singing some children's songs. My wife has lost a lot of weight which makes me scared for her health. I'm not bothered that she still wears mourning dresses or dresses like a widow, I'm only bothered about her health.“Look after her,” I said to Elena, “I have some work to finish off.”I didn't want to leave Aurora, but I couldn't leave my duties like that, and some councilors were waiting for me in my office. Sometimes, Travis did help me with some work, and the councils covered up some work for me, especially the right state council. do “Thanks for coming all the way here,” I sat down when I entered my office, “So to
Aurora’s POV Mother’s nature of emotional blackmail was still the same; she has always done it, and right now,w, she is still doing it.I was irritated, I wanted to show her that I was better than her at emotional manipulation, “Even better,” I emptied the gallon on my body, “Let us all go to hell.”“Tristan!!!” Mother yelled when she saw I was playing the same game with her.“How can I stop a grieving mother? I should have punished Ava but I felt it would be better if Aurora punished her because she was closer to our child than I was, so how can I stop her?” Tristan supported me, “If I was killed would you sit and watch? Wouldn’t you kill the person too?”“The situation is different, you are a full human, and her child was only a fetus,” Mother whined, “That child wasn’t even formed yet; it was just blood!!”I couldn’t believe what mother had just said, “A fetus? Just blood?” I lit another match out of anger.“Are you going to watch her light us?” Ava yelled and I walked closer to h
