Chapter 28

Richard moved quickly, carrying an unconscious Emily in his hands, to the raven enclave.

It was already noon when he arrived, and he walked in an open spot where the guards keeping watch would see him easily.

Before he approached the gate, the guards saw him and immediately gathered themselves around the gate, waiting for him to get closer, and when he did, they opened the gate immediately, positioned with their weapons.

As Richard strode in, his eyes scanned the very familiar community.

"Blake!" He yelled, "I have the hybrid!"

Just then, Blake flapped his wings from behind the guards as they made way for him, and he landed in front of Richard.

"I brought her already. Can I get my wings?"

"Not yet, brother!" Blake hollered. "Where is the golden dirk?"

"I don't have it,"

"What do you mean, you don't have it? You would undoubtedly take it after killing the ravens."

"Well, I didn't. It was almost sunset. I had to rush here with the hybrid, can't afford to get my wings burnt."
