The ride home was suffocating. Each second I spent in there felt like an eternity, with Sabrina bugging me with her lectures. But it wasn’t just Sabrina’s lectures about how careless I was that bothered me… it was the way her mate, Seth, stared at me from the driver’s seat. I could see his green eyes flicker with lust. What the hell?

I shifted uncomfortably in my seat, my arms wrapped around myself as if I could shield myself from his gaze. I tried to focus on the words escaping from Sabrina’s lips, but they only made me feel worse.

“You have to be more careful, Naya. Leaving your suppressants in your locker like that? What were you thinking?”

I could sense frustration in her voice. Which I tried to ignore as usual.

“My locker was locked. Besides, I didn’t think anyone would take them,” I murmured weakly from the back seat.

“That’s the problem… You didn’t think! Do you have any idea what could’ve happened if you’d fully transformed, near humans at that? The entire pack would’ve been at risk!”

Her words were harsh, and I wanted to defend myself, but my attention drifted back to Seth. He was still leering at me.

“Are you even listening to me, Naya?” Sabrina snapped, pulling me back to attention.

“Yes,” I lied.

We pulled up at our home, and she grabbed me by the wrist, dragging me into the room, Seth trailing behind us.

“You’re staying indoors for the next few days. No school, no friends, no excuses! You need to learn to control your wolf better. This can’t happen again.”

Before I could protest, almost mentioning my problem about my heat, Seth’s voice cut through the tense atmosphere.

“It’s not her fault,” he said smoothly, his tone calm but firm.

Sabrina turned to him, her eyebrows furrowing together.

“Excuse me?” she said, clearly not buying what Seth spat out.

“She’s young. Mistakes happen,” he continued, his gaze meeting hers now. “Don’t be too hard on your little sister.”

As Sabrina was about to argue, Seth stepped forward, embraced her and silenced her with a kiss. This was a kiss that lasted longer than usual, forcing me to look away, my stomach churning with disgust.

I wanted to leave to give them some privacy, especially since somewhere in my gut I felt that Seth didn’t have my sister in mind as he continued to kiss her passionately. After around 2 minutes, he finally pulled away from her...

Then stealthily glanced at me with a smirk!

“Fine. But, Naya, no more mistakes,” Sabrina agreed as she twirled around to face me, her anger now a distant memory.

I shrugged while I slowly trudged into my room and locked the door. I sink onto my bed, my eyes fixed on the ceiling as I slowly entered the Sandman’s world.

Within the next few days, I was isolated from everyone. Always locked inn my room like a prisoner. I spent most of my time knitting, writing, or doing anything that would occupy my mind for a while.

The knock on my room’s door startled me. I shifted my gaze to the locked entrance and frowned, my thin, arched eyebrows furrowing. My unwanted ‘admirer’ was here. He might be outside, but his hated scent filled the air, making my stomach heave in discomfort. This was the second day he appeared at my door. Seth was aware of Sabrina’s work schedule and that she wasn’t at home around this time.

I steadied my breathing as I rose from my couch and walked to my door.

I forced a smile as I unlocked the door and peeked through the gap that the chain lock had created. I tried with all my might to keep my voice indifferent, even slightly hostile.

“Seth? What are you doing here?”

He leaned casually against the door frame, his eyes lustfully staring at my body.

“Sabrina mentioned she’d be working late. Thought you might need some company.”

I gripped the edge of the door, my hold tightening.

“I’m fine, really. You don’t have to~”

“Come on, Naya,” he interrupted, maintaining his cringe-worthy smile. “We can hang out. Just for a bit.”

“No,” I said firmly, slamming the door and re-locking it before he could say any thing else.

I stood there with my back against my door. My heart was pounding so loud I swear that this questionable male could hear from outside my room. I waited nervously for him to leave. When his footsteps finally faded away, I exhaled shakily, then weakly returned to my couch.

This is the first time he had tried to enter my room. Not a good sign. Perhaps telling Sabrina would stop him from trying to do it.

Or she might probably think that I’m fantasizing about her boyfriend. Yuck!

On the fourth day, Sabrina came home late with her shoulders slumped and her bright eyes showing signs of extreme exhaustion. She collapsed onto the living room couch, her shoulders slumping as she kicked off her shoes.

“Long day?” I asked, as I placed a glass of water on the coffee table in front of her.

She nodded, rubbing her temples.

“The rogues attacked a few of our pack members. We’ve been trying to save lives the whooole day. It’s been stressful but fruitful.”

I hesitated, the words forming in my mind but refusing to come out. I wanted to tell her about Seth, about his unwanted visits and the way he looked at me,. the. However, the timing felt very much off.

“What is it?” she asked, sensing my indecisiveness. She was quick to observe my facial expression and knew right then and there that something was bothering me.

I opened my mouth to speak, but before I could, her mobile rang. She answered it immediately, her face lighting up at the sound of Seth’s voice.

“Hey,” she said softly, a small smile tugging at her lips. “Yeah, I’m home. Very exhausted, but still kicking… And yes, I missed you too.”

My skin turned cold as I listened to them talk, her voice filled with love and trust. How could I ruin this very special moment for her?

“I love you,” I could hear the psycho’s gruff voice say from the receiver.

When she hung up, she looked back at me expectantly. “So what were you going to tell me?”

I decided to just keep mum about it…

“Oh, it’s nothing,” I muttered, shaking my head. “I was just wondering if you’re willing to share your secret recipe for shepherd’s pie because I plan to cook it for dinner tomorrow.”

“Is that all,” Sabrina asked with a bright smile. “Just follow me to my room. I have an extra printed copy there.”

Whew, that was close…

The next morning, I sat by my window, knitting a scarf for myself. Then his scent wafted in the air. My head snapped up, my heart sinking as his vile scent filled my room. He was at it again.

I stood, steeling myself as I walked to the door. I wasn’t going to let him intimidate me. I plan to give him a piece of my mind!

The moment I opened the door, he slipped inside going past me then he quickly closed it behind him. The sneaky son of a bitch!

“What do you want, Seth?” I hissed, my eyes turned to mere slits as my fingernails dug into my palms.

He smirked as he stretches out a sinewy arm so he could lean against the wall.

“Relax, Naya. I just wanted to see how you were doing.”

“I’m fine!” I exclaimed sharply. “So you can leave my room now.”

When I tried to push him toward the door, he grabbed my wrist. I then yanked my hand back, but the sudden movement made me lose my balance.

I stumbled, and before I could hit the ground, he caught me, his hands gripping my arms tightly.

Our faces were inches apart, his breath warm against my skin. My heart pounded wildly, fear, anger and nausea all seeping into my awareness at the same time.

“What are you doing?” I fiercely remarked, my voice trembling.

His hazel eyes locked with mine, and for a moment, the world seemed to stand still. I could feel him pausing, see the way his lips parted as if he wanted to say something.

Then my door swung open…

“Naya, I~” Sabrina’s voice froze mid-sentence.

Perfect timing, sister.

She stood there, her jaw dropping as her eyes darted between Seth and me.

I pushed him away from me, my face burning with shame and anger. “It’s n-not what it l-looks like, sister,” I stammered.

Sabrina’s eyes narrowed, her expression hardening as she looked at Seth. “What the hell is going on here?”

"He's a fighter, my son. He'll bounce back from this."Still, I remained silent."I know I've made mistakes," he said, his voice low, barely audible. "Terrible mistakes. And I know I can never make up for them. But I want to try. I want to be a better father, a better person."I fi

She looked at me, her expression softening, her anger slowly fading away."Thank you, Kieran," she said, her voice choked with emotion. "Thank you for saving my son."I smiled, my heart swelling with relief. "We did it together," I said. "We saved him together."Aiden was saved but something bad still happened. The next day, as I walked through the hospital, I saw the couple again, sitting in the waiting room, their faces etched with grief.

Naya's POVShe finally took a bath and changed clothes almost after nearly two days.We left soon after. The drive to the black market was suffocating. The silence in the car wasn't peaceful; it was a thick, heavy blanket of resentment and unspoken accusations.Every breath Naya took seemed amplified, every glance she shot my way felt like a physical blow. The city lights blurred past the windows, painting streaks of color across her pale face, but her gaze remained fixed, unblinking, on the road ahead.I tried to break the tension, to bridge the chasm that had opened between us, but every attempt was met with a wall of icy indifference."Naya," I began, my voice soft, "are you okay?"She didn't respond, didn't even acknowledge that I had spoken.I sighed, trying to control my frustration. "Look, I know this is hard," I continued, "but glaring at me won't do anything for him.""Anything for him?" she finally spat, her voice laced with venom. "Is that what you call it? So you want me

He walked towards us slowly, his eyes filled with a pity that sent a chill down my spine."I'm afraid I have more bad news," he said, his voice low and somber. "We've analyzed Mr. Walsh's blood, and we've discovered that it's been contaminated.""Contaminated?" I asked, my voice trembling. "What do you mean?""It appears that Mr. Walsh has been ingesting some kind of toxin," the doctor explained. "It's not immediately life-threatening, but it's rendered his blood unusable for transfusion. We can't give it to Aiden."The world seemed to tilt on its axis, the groundseeming to shift beneath my feet. Kieran's POVI stared at him for a long moment, my anger slowly dissipating, replaced by a grudging sense of resignation. He was hurting, deeply. And whatever he had done to Naya, it was clearly something he regretted.I sighed, running a hand through my hair. "Fine," I said, my voice brusque. "But just remember, Tobias. The only sound was the echo of our footsteps on the concrete floor. We reached a small, windowless room at the back of the warehouse, w

Kieran's POV I felt helpless. It was a feeling I was getting very used to this past few days.It felt like all I could do was watch as my family tore itself apart.Helpless as my son died before my eyes. Helpless as my other son let guilt swallow him and helpless as I watched my mate turn on her heel, the sound of her boots sharp and decisive against the sterile floor of the waiting room. She was a woman possessed, her eyes burning with a fierce determination that bordered on madness. I knew that look. It was the look of a mother willing to do anything, sacrifice anything, to save her child. But I also knew that she wasn't thinking clearly. She was operating purely on instinct, driven by a raw, primal need that threatened to consume her.I was tired of just sitting by and watching. It was unbecoming of an Alpha. So I took action."Naya, stop!" I yelled, my voice echoing through the tense silence of the waiting room. "Let me do it."She paused, her back still to me, her shoulders
