Darius got up from his chair. “We need to go. Now.”

But Ravenna reached out and placed a hand on his arm, softly and steadily enough to make him stop. Her eyes met his in a calm but serious gaze.

“Wait,” she said quietly. “Not like this. Not without permission.”

Darius’s eyebrows pulled together. “Permission? Ravenna, we just saw two of their men dragging some kind of heavy, magical thing into their private rooms. It could be a threat to our pack, to everyone here. We don’t have time for… diplomacy.”

“Which is exactly why we need to be smart,” Ravenna replied, voice steady but firm. “If we storm in, it makes us the aggressors. Roric could accuse us of breaking trust. And as guests? Or, in a worse scenario, he could turn it into a reason for war.”

She looked around at Dalian and Mia, then back at Darius. “We will approach him first. Respectfully. Then ask about what we saw. Then we will raise concern, not accusation. That keeps us in control, no matter what he says.”
