I watched how the boy and the girl fled into the house, and the expression of the man that stood before me suddenly changed. He looked more stern as he looked at the taxi driver in annoyance. 

I sat in the ditch, leaning beside the taxi, I was now soaked to my pant, and I dreaded it so much. This was a high level of disgrace, it didn't even appear to me that such things could ever happen to me till today. 

This is the worst rejection I've received so far, I wish I can just disappear from the surface of the earth. 

"Stand, lady, I am taking you to the police station," the driver spat. 

My eyes widened with the realization that I might spend a day or two in the police station. My heart ached a lot, noticing that nobody might even help bail me out. 

"Mr. please, just take me home, I'll look for my purse, remove the money and pay you, please, I can even double the money, just stop this whole show please," I begged crying.
