Azians POV
The cold night wind blew airily past my skin as I stared blankly into the open space watching the top balcony window of the house before me. I was standing on the open streets trying to figure out what had just happened.
Everything had moved way too fast. My head felt like it was spinning and yet frozen in place at the same time.
How on earth had Kaya known about mates? Her face flashed into my mind when she had asked the question about Khloe being my mate.
It had taken me off guard. Edwin was right when he said humans were not as clueless as we made them seem, definitely not Kaya.
I could still feel the sting on my cheek from when she had slapped me not even two minutes ago, and I inwardly scoffed. Not even fire could hurt me but here I was in pain.
I can't say I didn't deserve it but I couldn't tell her that she was merely a possession, a sort of toy my dragon seemed to obsess over, but even that seemed farfetched kn

Abigail sighed as she examined the counter, "and he... He just melted it?" She asked turning to the three before her. “Yes, he did and it was awesome!" Alessia began as she continued with her explanation, “then he started glowing, brighter than I've ever seen! I swear it was so hot I felt like the sun had decided to give birth to a mini sun right in the middle of the kitchen. His eyes popped out of his head like a hot air balloon, you know like one of those cartoons,” she explained, excitement dripping in every word, “yeah, like that, and he was frankly very scary, but I wasn't scared, nope. I just decided to stay put because personally, I didn't want to be melted to a pulp, then his veins oh his veins looked like golden snakes weaving and swerving underneath his pale sk-" "What Alessia means is that he changed,” Anna grunted eyeing her daughter, “he melted the counter in less than a second, and the temperature increased so fast we couldn't u
It wasn't a second later when the front door opened and Azian walked in with his head bowed low, his golden locks pulled back when he looked up. He was not surprised to see everyone in the kitchen, he had already sensed their auras way before he walked in, the ugly puddle of metal staring back at him too making him inwardly groan. "Where were you?" Abigail asked eyes coming into contact with his. He sighed noticing Ena and Maria were here which meant the meeting Anna had talked about was about to commence but not before a good lecture from Abigail. Alpha growled in irritation, this was not appealing at all to him. Being summoned him like he was some baby. He was a King and Kings were not summoned. More powerful than any of them combined and he was tired and irritated at the moment. He decided for all three of them at the moment that whatever Abigail and her little gang had decided to say could wait till morning.
Kaya’s POV I woke up to the sun shining directly into my face and someone shaking my shoulder gently, I groaned squinting my eyes to block out the suns burning rays turning to find Ally's concerned face hovering over me. A look of relief washed over her face, "Good, you're up,” she huffed, taking a calming breath out, “I was starting to think you had died on me. Come on, get up, we're going to be late," she cooed, giving me a push which sent me rolling off the bed. I landed with a thud on the floor and groaned but pulled the blanket down with me creating my own little space on the floor, my hand reached up feeling for my pillow before grabbing it and pulling it down to me. I curled up on the floor and sighed closing my eyes in satisfaction before the blanket was ripped from me. "Kaya wake up! We’re going to be late!" "I'm not going to school, it's a Friday. Who cares about Friday? Let the weekend commence already!" I retorted.
Kaya’s POV The wind blew through the half-drawn car window, allowing me to take in fresh gasps of fresh air I so desperately needed. My heart was beating harder the closer I got to school, and I couldn’t stop my fingers from tapping so nervously on the side of my chair as Ally drove towards it. She turned to me, glancing down at my hand before I could feel her eyes on the side of my face, "Look, if you really feel like you don't want to be here, we can just go home. Like, if all this mate thing is too much on you…." She trailed off when I gave her a look, shaking my head. ”I'm here already and it's just like every other day, I can do this,” I stiffed back a reply, “.All I'm going to do is pretend I don't notice him as usual and he won't pay attention...as usual" I finished replaying the sentence in my head. "And...This is Azian we're talking about I suppose?" I gave her a glare and she chuckled, "I'm just messing with y
Kaya’s POV "Finders are the closest things to being completely human, in fact, I would say they are human. They only differ slightly in scent. There's is a little more unique than the average human." "Alright, so. What are these finders?" I asked, readjusting my position to listen better. "Well, they are practically descendants of old species. Most likely in the last two hundred years, they had an ancestor who was a part of the supernatural community. Mostly, these are witches in particular who decided to mate with humans. Sometimes Magic dies in family lines, especially when they continuously mix with those that are not their kind, in this case-humans. Blood is forgotten and they and their descendants fade into nothing. But of course, magic can never really be completely gone, that's why once every other generation from the descendants of every forgotten ancient blood, a finder, a glimpse, or a hunter is born." "What are those?" "It's not any
Abigail placed the last plate on the metal puddle they used to call a counter."I think we should eat in the dining room today,” Anna suggested taking the plates off before they could slip off the disfigured counter, with a sigh, before walking towards the dining room disappearing from view.Abigail sighed, folding her apron as Anna came back, "they're still upstairs?" Abigail asked but was interrupted when Alessia came strolling down the stairs with a bag pack slung around her shoulder.Anna folded her arms watching her daughter descend the stairs, "Alessia, did you forget we agreed on no school today?" She asked as Alessia kissed her cheek then Abigail's before taking a seat next to the melted countertop."No, of course not. I just thought since we're training all day, I should bring an extra pair of clothes, you know, just in case Azian decides to burn or Drown Khloe and we get scorched a little or wet in the process. I would like to be prepared,
Azians POVWe stared into her concerned pleading eyes.Alpha wasn't for it at all. He didn't like the plan and honestly neither did Omega and me. It seemed easier to just do away with her. Just one blast of fire is all it would take. But deep inside, all three of us knew that Abigail was right. She was much older than us and therefore, wiser. We needed to learn to think a little more like her. She was striving for a more long-term solution than the one of impulse rattling through our skulls at the moment. We really did have to think more of Kaya than of our rage. We were doing this for her.Edwin had taken it upon himself to spend the last two hours trying to discuss things over with me about Kaya and the plan and I had gotten a total of three things from his little lecture.Firstly, Abigail knew I had been seeing Kaya. I wasn't really surprised about this. It just seemed logical that she would have found out sooner or later.
AZIAN'S POVBefore I even had the chance to reply Omega had taken over, my eyes swarmed electric green as I came into eye contact with Abigail, her face morphing into shock as if she could read our minds. She probably could, Omega always left some sort of open connection between the two of them. The ground began to shift softly at first as if it was barely anything, then it began to shake, and shake it did. The trees began to sway as the wind began to blow fiercer.‘Agh well Abigail did say the air element as well right?’‘She did.’ Alpha replied not caring in the least about what Omega was doing. He seemed to be enjoying it actually. The birds began to fly away in flocks dimming the sky, with every shake of the earth. Then the ground cracked..."Uh… Azian!"" Abigail called her face in panic mode.‘Oh she didn't have to worry, she was perfectly safe. I eased rel
