HOURS EARLIER I grabbed my worn Draco from the desk, slid a bullet in, and slung it over my shoulder. The cigar hit my lips as I turned to face my fifteen kneeling staff, trembling and drenched in sweat. Black and white, broken, pathetic—most barely clinging to life after I'd begun. I drew on the cigar, walking slowly past them. Some of my men were stationed nearby, guns trained on the kneelers, watching. On the side, my sister Imani stood stiffly, silent. "Now. I'mma repeat myself one last time." I puffed out smoke. They shuddered. "Where. The. Hell. Is my son?" I demanded. Silence, only shudders. I cocked the gun, unloaded a burst of bullets into the kneeling fools. Screams filled the hall. When I finally paused, maybe one or two remained. "You three—talk, or join your colleagues," I said, cigar smoke curling. The lone woman stammered, "W-we... we don't know, sir..." I shot her. The men screamed. One begged. I shot him too. The last male panicked, sprinting for the exit. My men raised their guns, but I whistled—stopping them. I aimed, fired, and he collapsed, chest pierced. "Tyrell," I called. "Yes, boss?" "Take as many men as you can to the hood. Khalifa and his boys are suspects. Force the truth. My son comes home, alive." "Yes, boss," he replied, heading out. "Clean this up," Imani ordered. "Yes, ma'am," one of the remaining men answered, moving towards the blood-filled bodies, with a few men. Imani professional stance, the skirt hugging her curves—whatever. My eyes moved to the girl behind her. "I still think your baby mama, Isadora, is responsible for Jamal's disappearance," Imani said. "I have always told you that Hispanic hoe is worthless." "She's the one," Imani said. I didn't say a word but kept staring at the suspicious little bitch behind her who seemed to be avoiding my gaze. "You need to torture her and get the truth out of her," Imani suggested. "The bitch behind you," I said, ignoring her suggestion. "Isn't she one of the staff?" Imani looked over her shoulders momentarily and then looked at me. I raised my brows, awaiting an answer. "She is." "Why wasn't she kneeling with the other staff?" I asked. "She wasn't in the mansion when Jamal went missing. She accompanied me to complete the task you gave me," Imani explained. I scoffed. "Seriously?" She stared at me. "Since when did you start taking maids with you to do my tasks, Imani?" I asked. She didn't respond but kept staring at me. I moved my gaze to the girl. She quickly took her eyes away from me. "What's your name?" I barked. She trembled. "Na... Naomi, sir." I raised the gun. "Where. Is. My. Son?" Imani stepped forward. "Kai—no." "Move," I said. She hesitated, then reluctantly stepped aside. Naomi cried silently, trembling in a dress that wasn't a uniform. I cocked the gun, shot her shoulder. She screamed, collapsing. I handed my gun and cigar to Caleb and turned to Imani. "Take me to Isadora," I ordered. She followed silently, heels clicking on tiles. I walked along the hallway, wind biting my tattooed shoulders. Whoever dared take my son would pay. Big Kai doesn't forgive. The "cell" came into view. Isadora lay inside, on the floor. Imani explained: "I had no choice." I glared. "Why lock up my baby mama?" "She got... crazy, Kai. This was safest." Isadora lifted her head, grinning. "Big Kai! It's really you!" "What the fuck happened to her?" I asked. "I met her like this," Imani said. "She left Jamal, probably using drugs. That's how they took him," Imani added, igniting my rage further. "Shoot her now," she suggested. "No," I said, lowering my gun. "Guards—take her to her room. Chin her up." Imani hesitated, but I didn't wait. "Do it now," I ordered, walking towards the entrance. "But...." "Do as I fucking say!" I ordered, heading out of the cell area. I took out my phone from my pockets and dialed a number as I walked. I placed my phone close to my ear, and he picked up at the first ring. "Yo, OG," Reeko's ever-cheerful voice filled my ear. "Lil Kai is missing," "Say what?" "Someone is messing with me," I said. "Just say the word, OG. They'll be gone." "Tyrell and the boys are on their way to Khalifa's. You know the motherfucker has been a fucking threat to me since I left the hood," I said. "Shiit. I did tell you to end that motherfucker and his goons back then." "The moron didn't pay me my money then. But now, I want him six feet under," I demanded, heading towards my room. "Don't you think you are wrong? I mean, no one would dare cross you. Not even Khalifa. The kidnappers might not be from the hood," he said. "That's the reason I called. You and the boys, find me answers outside Bricktown. I need my son found and brought to me alive." "Yes, boss. What do we do to the motherfuckers that took 'em?" "Undress their skulls and bring them to me. I need new cups for my Martini." "I got you."MIA Big Kai got out of the car, taking my attention as my heart kept pounding. Shuddering, I slowly raised my head but.... "Fuck you, Big Kai!" BANG! I flinched, ducking instantly as terror washed over me. Someone was shot. Big Kai. The silence messed with my sanity as I thought of the worst. Slowly, I rose, staring ahead. Some boys are on their knees with their hands up and Big Kai is standing in front of them but has his gun pointed down at the dead body on the ground. I swallowed as I felt relieved within. I thought he was shot. "Anyone else wanna fucking speak up?!" He yelled. I flinched. No one answered. The place is filled with cars on both sides, bodies littered on the ground, and the few men shuddered as they stared at Big Kai. A familiar man walked towards Big Kai, saying something to him that I can't hear. Big Kai looked at him as he spoke. It is the man from Bricktown. He is one of Big Kai's men. The dead men and the ones kneeling must
MIA My heart raced faster as he stared at me with his dull eyes that were getting more bothersome. He hasn't recovered yet. It is written all over his face. Why is he doing this? I hope he picks the first option. His eyes lowered on my body momentarily and then back to my eyes. "Fine, the pajamas are trustworthy. At least you won't catch a fucking cold." He said, starting his car. I furrowed my brows. "Wha....are you seriously picking the second option?" "Do me a favor and put your seatbelt on," I scoffed. "Come on, Shawty," he said, placing his other hand on the head of my seat and driving towards the gate. I shook my head as I grabbed my seat belt and strapped it on. We drove out the gate and hit the road. I fiddled with my fingers as I stared at him. He has one hand on the wheel, the other still on the head of my seat, and his eyes are focused on the road. How could he be driving? He is sick. Where does he want to be so bad that he doesn't care about his health? Wh
BIG KAIFuck, I love it when she says my name. "What are you......are you supposed to be..." "The stutter sounds like fucking music, baby." I retorted, smirking. She stared at me nervously. My eyes moved further to her pajamas. It's my first time seeing her in those. "You look fucking sexy despite being covered up in pajamas," I said, reaching to caress her face but she moved away instantly, making me furrow my brows. "Don't touch me, please." She said, looking everywhere but me as she folded her hands and let out a sigh. "What's wrong?" No response. I walked towards her and grabbed her arm gently. "Shawty...." She moved her hand out of my hold. Gently but it felt cold. The fuck did I do? I stared at her as she kept staring away. "Tell me what is....." I trailed the minute my dizziness picked up."Tell me what is wrong, shawty." "Nothing. Just go to your room and to your girlfriend and...." I furrowed my brows. "And leave me alone." she completed. "What the heck are
BIG KAIMINUTES EARLIER..... The familiar sound of my ringtone pierced slightly into my ears, making me open my eyes. The ceiling greeted my eyes as I felt the weight of my fever lessening but my taste buds were a bit sour. I felt a weight on my chest and belly, making me lower my gaze. A feminine hand on my body. I turned my head to the left and I saw dark hair. What the...Sharp dizziness struck me, making me close my eyes and rub my forehead. "Fuck." My phone rang again. I reached for it lazily on the nightstand and took the call without looking at the dialer. "Who the fuck is this?" I barely whispered. "OG," Reeko's familiar voice came through. "Reeko," I breathed, still feeling dizzy as I closed my eyes. "It's them Marcel boys." I opened my eyes. "What?" "They entered the hood a few minutes ago. Destroyed another mall and some properties in the hood as well." I gritted my teeth as I rose and put my legs down, earning a addition to my dizziness and a movement on th
MIAGosh, why didn't I check it earlier? Now I will have to go to the kitchen and get a new pack. Jay Jay will definitely wake up for his midnight snack as always. Sighing, I walked towards the door and out of the room. The hallway is quiet and lonely just like a typical night. Since I left the kitchen hours ago, this is my first time coming out. Coco had to bring us lunch and dinner to the room. She said nothing about Big Kai coming out of his room. I didn't even bother to ask. Why am I thinking about him now? I stared in the direction leading to his room. What if Coco was right about Brenda wearing his shirt as a misunderstanding? I let out a scoff. Stop this, Mia. Really. I took the direction leading to the stairs but stopped in my tracks, closing my eyes and letting out a sigh. Fine. Let's go check up on him.I rubbed my temple slightly as I turned towards the direction. Not long later, I got to his room door. I let out a breath and I reached to knock on the door
MIAShe is dressed in only a black shirt that looks familiar and her hair looks messy. My heart picked up at the possible reason. I shared a look with Coco as she placed the orange juice on the island. "The white girl and her kids. I wasn't expecting to see you here though," Brenda said, walking around the island and moving towards the fridge. I looked at Coco again as I put down the glass of juice Jay Jay was drinking from. Coco moved to the cooker as Brenda stared at the open fridge. I rested my eyes on the shirt she is wearing. Why does it look like the same one Big Kai wore from last night? She took out a bottle of water and closed the fridge. She grabbed a glass and moved to the island. She placed the glass down, opened the bottle, and filled up the glass. She picked up the glass and began drinking. I couldn't take my eyes off the shirt. Regardless of how it is messing with my head and heart. That is Big Kai's shirt. Why is she wearing it? She let out a fulfilling b
MIA Slowly, I reached for it and picked it from his palm. I lowered it and my gaze as well. "Put it in your hair." I clenched the stem again as anger filled me. Why does he keep telling me to do that? What is wrong with him? "Put the damn lily in your hair, girl." His voice was picking up. "I
MIA "Everybody out!" I almost flinched at his command. I looked at him. He is staring at everyone boldly. I furrowed my brows slightly, recalling this same act in the gym at his place. I looked at the others, and they are sharing confused looks. "M...Mr Kincaid," Imani called. "What do you....
BIG KAIShe is still awake, but still in the same position close to my kid. I took my drink as I continued staring at her.I know she is my new obsession. But I didn't expect to miss her that much in just forty-eight hours. I just came in and her room was the first place I went to. Rowland was th
MIA I held onto Jay Jay as I stared at the spacious room. Spacious and luxurious. It reminds me of Axel's place. The tall red curtains, high ceiling, rose ceiling in the middle and a small chandelier hanging down from the rose ceiling. My eyes moved further and I froze at the sight of a black CC
