Getting back to my cell, I began to pace up and down while Grace and Amaya glanced at each other wondering why I returned only to look worried.

Ruto is right.

Men are scum! I was feeling the same rage she felt over her boyfriend's betrayal and I wished for nothing but to put a bullet into Maverick's skull.

A drop of his thought in my mind makes me effuse angrily. I hate everything about him, his face… his fucking scent!

Grace stood up with the cigar clipped between her fingers.

“Who came visiting and why are you suddenly looking worried?" She asked worriedly.

I gritted my teeth, facing the wall, my chin raised. I turned back to Grace with an eyes red with anger and reached out for the cigar in her hand. She didn't resist but she had a surprising look on her face as I took the cigar to my lips.

“I thought you said don't smoke?" She glanced at Amaya on the bed.

I drew the content of the cigar and puffed the smoke out in the air. I coughed loudly, the cigar choking me.

Grace tried to collect the cigar but I waved it away from her and straightened up, my eyes redder. I drew it again and blew out the smoke.

Grace glanced at Amaya. Both wondered what was going on with me.

I knew this was the beginning of the change I never thought would happen to me.

I knew I said smokers are bad but I don't care anymore if I'm the worst girl ever…and as for Maverick. I swear he'll pay for his betrayal in a hundred folds.

It was night yet I didn't say anything to my cellmate. I laid on the upper bunker, my eyes wide open like a hawk while Grace and Amaya were fast asleep.

A gentle knock on the gate woke them up.

I sat up and looked at the gate to see a warden opening it.

“You..come out." She pointed at me and without thinking twice, I jumped down from the bed.

Grace and Amaya stood in my front, stopping me from going further.

“She's going nowhere with you!" Grace spread her arms defensively.

“Yes. She's not." Amaya spoke up too.

I just stood behind them with a rigid heart. It was as if the cigar had wiped away my fear hormone.

“Let me just follow her. I'll be back girls." I said with less concern, my voice deeper than usual.

Grace turned to me, worries written all over her face.

“Listen Olivia, we're not letting you follow her. It's dangerous here! This is the time prisoners hunt one another. We don't know why she's taking you out so we're not allowing you to take a foot out of this place! If you're going, we're going with you!!" She said defensively, her tone filled with confidence.

“Step aside. She's the only one coming with me." The warden warned.

Grace turned to her. “You heard me well bitch. She's going nowhere!! Do your fucking worst!!"

I was amazed at how bodly Grace was defending me as if I'm her long time friend.

The warden was visibly angry. She gripped her baton tightly.

I held Grace and Amaya on the shoulder and said.

“I'm going to be fine, girls. Let me go with her. Trust me, I'll have whatever it is under control." I said, trying to diminish the tension.

Grace turned to me with reluctance in her eyes.

“Alright. If you're not back after 10 Mins. We'll come for you." She said and I nodded.

I stepped out of the cell and followed the warden behind, our Shadow reflecting on the floor of the passage.

I could hear some prisoners in deep slumber snoring as we moved while some were awake in their cell. Faint moaning sound added to the sound which made me shake my head.

Getting to cell 100, we stopped at the gate which was already opened and the warden stepped aside leaving me at the door.

I saw the woman I saw earlier who spanked my ass with her three girls behind her. She sat in their front on a chair like a boss.

“Come in baby girl." She gestured at me with a smile on her face.

“I'm not a baby girl." I said, my tone deep and firm.

She frowned slightly as if noticing a little change in me.

“Do you smoke?" She asked.

“It's none of your business!" I snapped.

She laughed softly and stood up. She had pulled her jumpsuit in a way only a black bra remained on her body, compressing on her breast which looks like they'll pop out from the top.

She walked to me and walked round me in 360°, her face a few inches away from my body. I could feel her breath raking on my neck.

“Yummy." She whispered romantically and stood before me at a close proximity. “I want you as my sugar girl." She said straight on.

I scoffed. “I'm not into girls." I said.

She laughed. “Oh..did I make it look like I'm requesting? I'm not asking girlie. I'm only letting you know that henceforth, we're fucking partners and we'll be fucking." She said,

I glared into her eyes. “Over my dead body! I decide who can have my body!"

“I have control here, girl. No one turned me down. You should be happy Gianna has interest in you." She said,

I scoffed and took a step closer to her. A confidence I didn't have before overwhelmed me. I inched close to her and looked into her eyes boldly.

“Listen Ginna or whatever you're called..." As I began, her girls wanted to attack me but she raised her hand, stopping them. I continued. “..I don't care about whatever you think of yourself or what fucking authority you have here but I'm not a doll to submit to your will! Stay off!" I said and turned away, walking out.

“You're mine. You can do nothing about it hottie." Gianna said.

  • BEHIND THE VEIL   Chapter 3: Trouble brewing.

I wondered what Jack must have done to warrant Ruto thinking about killing him and the relationship she has with him. “No matter how gruesome the offence he committed, it shouldn't be worth taking a life.“ I said in my thoughts.“Who is Jack and why do you want to kill him?" I asked, walking beside her.“He's my boyfriend. He betrayed me but he'll pay with his life. Even if he escapes and hides 1000 ft deep in the earth, I'm going to find him and put a bullet into his heart." She said, her voice emitting anger and she quickened her steps towards a telephone booth.I shook my head, my innocent heart processing the whole thing she said.“Betrayal hurts but is it actually worth taking someone's life?" I said rhetorically before following Ruto to the telephone spot. Her finger typed on the buttons of the telephone as she input a number.“Who are you calling?" I asked her.She didn't respond. Rather, she put the phone to her ear and I looked away, observing prisoners moving along the pass

I held the dislocated arm and forced a smile at girl sitting on the edge of the bed.She glared at me, her expression unreadable. She had her jumpsuit pulled to her waist and tied it around her belly, revealing her navel which the white top top hugging her body couldn't cover. She pulled out a fat cigarette and lit it. She clipped it between her lips and stood up. I took a step backwards fearfully, watching as she puff the smoke from the cigar in the air.“Hi." She gave a deadly smile. I forced a smile. “I'm Olivia." I said with a trembling voice. She nodded and puffed out the smoke again which coiled lazily in the air.“So what do you bring for us Olivia."
