LOGINGABRIEL'S POV
I looked around the large living room of my new mansion, impressed with how regal the interior designer's work was. He truly delivered. Heading to my room, I met the elderly housekeeper, arranging my luggages and clothes in the wardrobe. "Good evening sir." She greeted immediately she noticed my presence. "Good evening Mrs Spencer. Thank you for looking after my home. It's nice to finally meet you in person." "Thank you sir, for being a huge source of sustainability to my family and I, these past years." She smiled in appreciation. "Welcome back to Newyork. I hope you enjoy your stay here, for as long as possible." "Thank you." I gave a nod. "Please inform my driver we would be stepping out in an hour." "Okay sir." My trip had been a smooth one. Having enjoyed the luxury and comfort of my private jet, I wasn't jetlagged one bit. All I really wanted to do tonight, was go have some fun, and probably get some good sex as well. Quickly hopping in and out of the shower, I brushed my teeth and got prepared to step out. The moment I was done, I put a call across to Carlos, and he picked after a single ring. "Good evening, Boss." "Evening, Carlo." I replied. "What's the best night out spot in Newyork? I mean, somewhere I could get drunk and naughty." I added, making him chuckle at the other side of the line. "I think you'd love 'HAVEN'. The place is insaaanne! Good drinks and hot strippers." "Just what I need." I nodded. "Thank you." "You're welcome, Boss. Welcome back to Newyork. The men and I would drop by tomorrow." "Oh, good." I said, before hanging up and making my way out. My driver was already on standby, and we both hoped into the car as soon as I stepped out. The ride to 'HAVEN' wasn't such a long one, seeing as it was right in the heart of town. I made my way in, quite impressed by the vibe of the place. A couple of scantily dressed ladies walked past me, one giving me a wink and smacking her butt. I gave her one of my killer smiles, blowing a kiss her way. She blushed hot red as she giggled away with her party. I navigated my way through the decent crowd in the club, making my way to the VIP section. There, I had a couple of drinks, while being given a really hot lap dance by one of the strippers. As a man who was trained by a mafia lord, one of the rules I lived by, was 'Never get too drunk to make your way home'. Deciding I had had enough fun for the night three hours later, I dropped some good tips for the stripper and barman, before making my way out. Just as I walked past the bar at the regular section, a drunk lady yelled in anger. "Bastard!" Not sure I was the one she referred to, I halted my steps. On a normal day, I would have went on my way without a care in the world. But then, this lady's voice sounded wierdly familiar. I turned to my left, and the moment I saw her vibrant ginger hair, I was so sure it was she. It just had to be. What was she doing here? Clearly all alone. And drunk. Against my better judgment, I stepped closer to her, eliciting a loud groan from one of the random men seated across from her. "Kayla?" I called, and she turned her face to me. It was really she. "Are you okay?" "I had eyes on her first." The random man whined, making me curse underneath my breath. She truly was alone. "Kayla." I called again, tapping her cheeks, but all she did was sigh drunkenly. Deciding it wasn't any business of mine, I turned to leave. I had taken my third step, when I heard a loud thud. She had fallen off her seat. Quickly rushing towards her, I picked her off the floor, unsure what to do. I didn't want anyone from my family knowing I returned to Newyork a day earlier, so I couldn't call. "You smell so good." She sighed, making me feel good in a weird way. Just how much had she drank? Why did I even care? After our last meeting 8 years ago, I vowed to forget she existed. So why on earth was I in this messy situation now?! An hour later, I walked into my room with a sleeping Kayla on my shoulder. Gently depositing her onto the bed, I released a low sigh. I had to bring her home. It was already late at night, and I had no idea where she lived. Moreover, her husband hadn't called her phone to know her whereabouts so far. So I simply assumed keeping late nights was quite normal in their marriage. Feeling quite tipsy myself, I pulled off my clothes and hopped into shower for a cold bath. What I had just never imagined possible, was a drunk Kayla stepping into my bathroom! I had washed off the soap lather from my eyes, and almost screamed in shock when I saw Kayla drunkenly trying to take off her dress. She was clearly having a hard time pulling off a very simple dress, and the sight would have been really funny, if she wasn't my nephew's wife. "Kayla, stop!" I ordered, not longer caring that I was naked. "Pee." She whispered. Oh... she wanted to pee. Releasing another sigh for the hundredth time that night, I stepped out of shower to help her. Taking off her dress, she whispered her thanks, before going ahead to..... pee on herself!!! Wetting my bathroom floors! How she had the guts to giggle in that situation, was beyond me. "Kayla!!" I yelled in exasperation, and she simply gave that cute smile that made her seem like a child. I hated.... HATED what that did to me. To my cock. Nahhhh.... This wasn't going right. Not right at all. She wasn't supposed to turn me on. She was drunk! And my nephew's fucking wife!! "Stop!" The word flew right out of my mouth, and she gave a frown, her eyes getting teary. Now, I was just confused. All I had done tonight, was try to help her. Not cut out for any drama, I tried to make my way out, but she ran straight into me, clasping her hands round my wasit. "Please love me." She whispered. I felt her hot tears on my chest, a contrast to the cold water I had just showered. "Make love to me." "Please stop." I begged, trying to pry her shockingly strong arms off me. "Kayla, please." Here I was, begging the same woman again after 8 years. Pathetic indeed. "Let go!" I suddenly yelled in annoyance, pushing her off me. My eyes widened in shock, as her back hit the wall. I froze, worried I had hurt her. I watched as she released a long sigh before looking at me, so much sadness in her eyes. "You're rejecting me." She muttered. What?!! I was rejecting her?! She was the one who fucking rejected me first!! The moment she made to leave the bathroom, I rushed at her, pushing her back to the wall. I looked down at her, willing myself to stop, but she was just a witch. Had always been. Leaning down, I captured her lips with mine, kissing her so feverishly and tasting her very essence. The moment she released a low moan, I knew I was a goner.SIX MONTHS LATER.KAYLA'S POVWe were currently at Lisa’s house for lunch, though at this point, we had spent more time gossiping than actually eating. The past six months had changed a lot of things. Some for better, some painfully. My hand rested absentmindedly against my stomach. I was exhausted. Apparently, carrying children in your belly was not for the weak.Gabriel and I had decided not to find out the genders beforehand because we wanted it to be a surprise. Though lately, everybody around us had become convinced I was carrying a boy, especially Aunt Beatrice. That woman had already purchased tiny suits! The longer I got to know her, the more dramatic she seemed to be.Lisa looked offended from across the living room as she held the large bouquet of flowers which had just been delivered to her apartment.“You haven’t even smelled them yet,” I teased.“I do not need to smell flowers sent by satan himself.”Beulah snorted loudly beside me while Lisa rolled her eyes and carefully
A MONTH LATER.KAYLA'S POV I had always imagined my wedding day as something simple, just private enough that every smile would mean something and every face in the room would not just feel familiar but close.Somehow, Aunt Beatrice and my mother had managed to give me exactly that.Surprisingly, my divorce process had been finalized just a week after Gabriel proposed. He had been too excited about it, like I wasn't just married to his nephew a while back. He informed Aunt Bea who flew down alongside Elena to start planning the wedding with mom. Now, I was very glad they did.The entire backyard of the Pearson Manor had been transformed into something so beautiful that I almost stopped breathing when I first stepped outside.Everything was white, warm, and angelic.White roses hung from tall crystal stands. White silk draped around the garden pillars and moved gently with the wind. Tiny golden lights glowed around the trees like floating stars, adding warmth to the calm elegance of
KAYLA'S POVI woke up, the morning rays filtering through the open windows. Then I looked around, getting familiarized with the environment. This was Gabriel's room.Somehow, mom had made me return with Gabriel to his apartment the previous night. It was crazy.I looked beside me to see he wasn't in bed and almost instantly, a smile made its way to my face when I realized he had woken up earlier to make me breakfast in bed.Just then, the door opened and Gabriel walked in with a large tray in his hands. I hated how I was ruining yet another gesture which was supposed to be a surprise. Now I had to act surprised. "Oh myyy... You're so sweet baby," I cooed and he grinned with a huge sense of accomplishment. "I hope you're hungry?""Very hungry." I nodded, subconsciously rubbing my still flat tummy.I was already two months along, and literally couldn't wait for my bump to start showing. It all still felt surreal...I was carrying Gabriel's child, and we were engaged to be married. I
GABRIEL'S POV.Oh wow...I certainly did not expect that.Imagine spending the entire day trying to plan the perfect proposal, and somehow your friends beat you to it.It was both frustrating and funny!"Congratulations, Lisa and Chase. I wish you both lifelong happiness." I smiled."Thank you, man," Chase walked over to me and we shook hands."Thank you, Gabriel," Lisa managed to give me a reply while hugging Kayla who was sobbing uncontrollably. I wasn't sure whether to be worried or..."Is she okay?" Chase whispered beside me, clearly worried too."I promise you guys, I'm just fine!" Kayla pulled away from Lisa, eyeing both of us as she chuckled lightly. "It's just the pregnancy hormones." She hissed.Ohhh, that definitely explained it."Thought as much!" Lisa laughed."Congratulations to you both," Kayla said, looking at Chase now. "You're one quick bastard." She said to him, chuckling again. "You quickly wifed her up.""You can't blame me, I'm greedy." He laughed. Now, I was uns
KAYLA'S POV "Calm down..." I managed to say, my heart beat accelerating. Oh, God. The possibility of a proposal had me feeling giddy, like I didn't just exit a marriage of two years."You can't be sure about that now, can you?" I shrugged, forgetting she couldn't see me.In the same vain, I prayed she'd counter my words and give me more reasons to believe a proposal was on the way indeed. The concept of being married to Gabriel just... made me feel a whole lot of beautiful things at once."From everything you've said, it smells like a proposal, Kay," she said. "It seems like a situation where Gabriel already asked your parents for their blessings and let them in on his plan to propose. But then, mom couldn't help her excitement and made you go shopping as her own way of ensuring you looked breathtaking enough for the surprise ahead. Do I need to also explain the concept of an anxious fiance-to-be, countlessly calling to check in?"Oh my God...She was right!"Actually Beu, he is ca
KAYLA'S POVJoana was pregnant?"Uhmm... I... I don't understand you, Nurse." Mom stuttered. "What do you mean by 'a baby is on the way'?""Ma'am, your daughter is three month and two weeks pregnant.""What..?" I whispered. "Oh my God." Mom rushed out. "Please can we see her now?""Uhm... yes." The nurse nodded. "But I'm afraid, only briefly. She's currently under observation.""No problem at all," I rushed out."Great." The nurse gave a nod and led us out of the room.We all went down the hallway, then came to a stop by the last door at the end of the hallway. It was a large black door. The nurse opened it and we looked in to see that it led to another hallway which looked darker. She ushered us in and we walked in, following behind her. We walked passed several nurses in scrubs, some of them assisting their patients in wheelchairs. As we walked passed some doors, we could hear shrill screams. Mom and I shared looks between each other countless times. We finally stopped at a large
TWO WEEKS LATER.KAYLA'S POVIt was crazy all that could happen in such a short period of time.A few days ago, we had all been in court, because mom had insisted. I did feel sorry for Joana, but going to court to show her my support...? I didn't really want to.But when mom had mentioned that she

A WEEK AGO.THIRD PERSON'S POV Joana quietly slipped back into her apartment in the middle of the night.
