Chapter THIRTY-ONE

Everything was bright. Too bright. It clouded my vision, making it impossible to point out my surroundings. I tried to take in a dry breath, but I couldn't. My throat couldn't function.
There was an insistent pounding in my head. And I couldn't stop it. Everywhere was so bright, yet so dark. I tried to speak, but realized I couldn't find my voice. Everything was so frustrating.
Am I dead?
