Chapter Nine.

I heard Olivia talking in the phone, so it means he picked up. I didn't really hear any part of the conversation, i fell asleep. I was woken up when i felt my body being put down and a seat belt strapped around me.

I went back to sleep, and slept all through the ride home. When i woke up next i was in Alex's arms in the elevator being carried.

"Where am I?" i asked drowsily as i rubbed my sleep filled eyes.

"We are almost home," he said tensely. For the first time he didn't seem smug or playful or seductive at all.

I looked up at him smiling, "Why the long face, you will get wrinkles in that handsome face of yours. Be happy." i said as i touched his soft cheeks. "God! Are you always this soft?"

"Maya, i haven't even been gone a week and you are already in trouble." he said with the same serious tone he had used before only this time a little softer.

"Am not in trouble," i said making gestures with my hands. "I was just trying to live, have some fun. Did someone say am in trouble?
