I set Angel down gently, then turned to Jayden. He was eyeing me warily, his pacifier still in his mouth, but his eyes lit up when I held out my hand.

“Jay-Jay,” I cooed. “Come here, big boy.”

He hesitated for a split second, then jumped right into my grasp.

I lifted him high, kissing his chubby cheek, and he burst into giggles, wrapping his arms around my neck.
