After about an hour of scrolling through social media platforms, I became restless and frustrated.

How long will I continue waiting for him?!

I sighed and stared around the room.

He owns the house and decided to build a small kitchen inside a room? Or is this like a visitor's apartment.

I should go look around the house to keep myself busy.

I opened the door and peeked down the corridor just to make sure I was the only one in the house.

The whole building was quiet.

I guess I am really all alone.

Suddenly, the silence was broken by a voice.

“If you're trying to be sneaky, Ms, it’s not working. You walk like a duck.”

I squinted at the ceiling, searching for the AI screen.

“How did… you..? Why are you still watching me? Aren't you supposed to be at the door?”

“Sweetheart, let me repeat myself again. I am House AI. I see and monitor everything around this house...”

“Whatever.”

I rolled my eyes and walked down the hallway.

My mind went back to the AI's speech.

  • BILLIONAIRE'S PLUS-SIZE OBSESSION    GOODBYE

The phone was still pressed to my ear, the speaker on. I fumbled, but in my panic, I couldn't manage to lower the volume. A hot flush of shame washed over me. But then, I’ve broken up with him. What is left to hide? Angela’s voice returned. “...I told him about the house you bought with that asshole’s money and he said he’ll pay him back twice as much as it costs and even get you a better one. Charlotte, I like him. He’s a cool guy. I know you’ll like him too. He is really down bad for you. Leave that Leo, or whatever his name is. I’ve always had this feeling about him, anyway. He might be gay. He looks beautiful, not handsome, you know? He looks better than most women, which is not a good sign. He might be gay; don't let that height and body blind you." I squeezed my eyes shut. Oh, God. Why is this so awkward? He was hearing every damn word. He hated being referred as such. His childhood trauma too, I had to stop Angela from making this more awkward. “Angela, please. Let’s t

Tears clouded my eyes."Yes... I am."A beat of silence. I turned and ran back into the house to get my stuff. The instant I left the beach, I had my mind made up to leave the island.Yes, I broke up with him.Like Gwen had said, I am the older, I should know better. With a shaky breath, I powered on my phone; the screen came to life. As if it had been waiting to be switched on, it began to vibrate and ring simultaneously.ANGELA flashed on the screen.I swiped to answer, bringing the device to my ear.“Hello?”“Finally!! Oh my goodness! Do you have any idea how many times I’ve called?" she joked.A sob I’d been stifling broke free.“Can you… can you call back?”Then, Angela's tone shifted from excitement, morphing into concern.“Charlotte? Are you crying? Don’t tell me you’re crying because of Leo. Please, girl, quit acting like that.”“We… I broke up with him,” I managed, the words scraping my throat raw. The admission unleashed another wave. My legs gave way, and I slid down the si

Then she sighed. "Seriously, I am not good at giving relationship advice." Obviously, I thought. "But..." she continued. "Don't be mad, can you tell me what happened before that? Did he just snap out of nowhere?" "I assured him, I told him not to listen to Marcus..." "Who is Marcus?" she asked. "He is a nobody! Yet Leo let him get under his skin, and because of this Marcus he almost killed me." "What did Marcus say?" "Does it matter? I told him not to listen, but he didn't!" "You are the older one, ain't you?" I stabbed her with my red eyes. "What is that supposed to mean?" Gwen put her hands up. "Nothing wrong with that. Just that...maybe you should look at his age...maybe he is not living up to your expectations because of his age. I know this must be the first time you've seen him behave in such a way. That means he is a human who can make mistakes...Think about the good times. Don't you think you are overreacting? Are you perfect? You never did something to make him r

  • BILLIONAIRE'S PLUS-SIZE OBSESSION    MY FAULT?

"I am happy you are alive." I concluded sadly. The stupid Flu didn't stop me from going crazy then. Silence followed. Eventually, we were off the yacht, and Rico went back with the motor yacht towards the beach house across. “I’ll make breakfast. You need to take your medicine.” Charlotte finally spoke. She didn’t look at me. Not once. She just turned and walked away. It should’ve felt hopeful. She was alive. We were safe. The worst had been avoided. But it didn’t feel better. Not even a little. Gwen cleared her throat. "Did you really force yourself on her? How...I don't see you as that type, were you possessed or something, Mr. Priest?" She was trying to lighten up the tense atmosphere. I turned to her. "Oh my goodness, are you crying?" I hadn't realized I was. "I think I was indeed possessed, Gwen." She was silent. "I don't believe in that...what happened...did you just act like that... something must've happened." "It doesn't matter what happened! The truth

  • BILLIONAIRE'S PLUS-SIZE OBSESSION    YES BUT...

Oh, God!! No!! I coughed and held my breath as I dove under, my eyes stinging. The icy water was nothing compared to my fear and adrenaline. The morning sunlight barely penetrated the churning darkness inside the water. I searched and can't see anything. I came up again. "Charlotte!!" I cried, my throat dry. Then dove back into the water. Then, fortunately, I saw a flash of her fabric and then a hand. My eyes widened and heart raced at the hopeful sight. I swam towards her and grabbed her hand. She was a dead weight, limp and heavy with waterlogged clothes and terror. I struggled and kicked for the surface with everything I had, my own lungs burning. We broke through, gasping and coughing, but a wave immediately crashed over our heads, dragging us under again. The undertow was fierce. I fought it, one arm locked around her chest, the other clawing toward where I thought the surface was. My strength, my size—it meant nothing against the ocean’s strength. I felt my s

  • BILLIONAIRE'S PLUS-SIZE OBSESSION    CRAZY GIRLFRIEND?

I almost hoped she would. Hate would’ve been easier. She didn’t. She looked at me with something far worse than hate. Without a word, she moved past me, one hand still pressed protectively to her neck, her shoulders shaking as she cried. She picked her clothes up from the floor, then she dressed with her back to me, shutting me out completely. Not once did she look over her shoulder. I stayed frozen where I was, afraid that if I moved, I’d make things worse. Afraid that my presence alone was already too much. When she finished, she went to the door. It opened, spilling a thin blade of hallway light across the floor, then the door closed. She was gone. I didn’t move. I couldn’t apologize. The words felt filthy in my mouth, useless and small compared to what I’d done. I don’t think I deserve to be heard. This has never happened before. I’ve never felt rage like that—never felt it swallow me whole. I never believed I was capable of hurting someone I loved so deeply. But I d
