I didn't want to admit it, but it felt good—the warm hug, those soft words felt so nice to hear.

And the way his cologne swept through my nostrils, it reminded me of the first time we met.

He literally saved my life back then, and I couldn't say thank you. I was so rude to him back then because of my own fears.

I envy girls who had it all their life.

Their daddy calling them princess, their mother kissing their wounds and attending to them with affection.

I envy those who can trust someone without being afraid or being humiliated.

I envy those who can tell the real ones from the fake ones.

Back then I wished I could stay in his arms and trust him fully, then the usual fear kicked in.

"You'll get hurt. You always get hurt."

I squeezed my eyes shut, as if I could block out the voice in my head. But it was relentless.

You'll get hurt. You'll get hurt. You'll get hurt.

I know that... I am that unlucky.

A flashback of my happiness when I met Jessica came

  • BILLIONAIRE'S PLUS-SIZE OBSESSION    WHAT ARE WE?

His eyes, the same stormy grey as the tie, were dark with an emotion that stole the air from my lungs. They were no longer soft with tenderness but blazing with a focused, heated intensity. They held mine for a long, heart-stopping moment before dropping, slowly, deliberately, to my lips. The world narrowed to this point, and the space between our mouths felt like a magnetic field pulling us together. My hand was still resting on his tie, and I could feel the rapid, strong beat of his heart beneath my palm. It mirrored my own frantic rhythm. Wait. I know that look. In movies, the couple always had this type of look before a kiss. He wanted me to kiss him?! Should I? What if I calculated wrong? I swallowed tightly. He leaned slightly. That’s a clue! My heart was hammering so loud it could’ve had its own solo in a rock band. I shut my eyes, puckered my lips, and tilted my face up, waiting for impact. Any second now. Any— My hands clenched the jacket th

  • BILLIONAIRE'S PLUS-SIZE OBSESSION    WAITING FOR YOU

“I don’t think I have the time to eat,” he said, his voice low and thick. He closed the distance between us in two strides. “But when I get back, I promise I will.” He reached out, his fingers gently caressing my hair, tucking a stray curl behind my ear. The touch was electric, sending a shiver straight down my spine. Then a smile—so tender it felt like a physical ache—touched his lips. “Okay?” I swallowed hard and could only nod, mute, still holding the empty tray like a shield. I set the food back on the tray, turned, and finally walked toward the kitchen, leaving with my skin still tingling where he had touched me. What… what just happened? It felt as if something serious, something profound, had passed between us in that quiet exchange. The way he’d said it, so softly, so sincerely, made my heart not just flutter, but somersault. I slowly raised my own hand to my hair, feeling the messy knots. It’s tangled a lot because I didn’t sleep with a bonnet. I cove

He looked from me to the suit laid out on the bed, then to the tie I’d just dropped, his expression unreadable. “What are you doing?” he asked, his eyes amused. “I, uh…” I stammered, my face heating rapidly. “I thought… since you were in a hurry… I’d just…” I gestured weakly at the clothes. “And the tie… I was just figuring it out.” He stepped further into the room, his gaze fixed on the suit. He didn’t say anything for a long moment, the silence stretching thick with unspoken things. Then, he walked over to the bed and picked up the tie. Finally, he looked at me, his grey eyes dark, intense, stripping away all my flimsy excuses. “You picked the blue suit with this tie,” he said, his voice quiet, deeper than usual. I nodded like a child being scolded. I wondered if it didn’t match. What the hell did I know about suits? Jun wasn’t a suit person. Neither was my stepfather. “Do you not like it? I apologize.” “Don’t… I think I just found my favorite outfit.” He

  • BILLIONAIRE'S PLUS-SIZE OBSESSION    I MISSED HER

My ovulation felt more sensitive this time than ever, I thought, pressing a cool hand to my cheek. Well, when you’re around that particular temptation, what do you expect? Last night, a lot had happened. I’d made it to safety all because of him. He’d been my anchor in the chaos—just like he always was. How could I ever thank him? He always appeared right when I needed help, carrying my well-being as if it were his personal responsibility. A familiar, bitter guilt twisted in my stomach. And yet, all I could think of was running away, because I assumed he was a fake. The thought was a reflex, a defense mechanism I’d honed over the years. But today, it felt hollow. I don’t care anymore, I told myself. The thought was equal parts terrifying and liberating. I just have to be more careful with my heart. I sighed loudly. I hope I’m not making a big mistake. After putting the leftover food away, I went to the kitchen to wash the dishes, only to find the place already sparkling clea

The fog in my head was lifting, replaced by a manageable throb. I was just starting to feel human again when Leo’s phone—distinct and jarringly loud—cut through the penthouse’s calm. Leo, who had been leaning against the kitchen island watching me eat with an amused expression, sighed and pulled the phone from his pocket. He glanced at the screen; his brow furrowed. “Devin,” he answered, his voice shifting into that crisp CEO tone that always sent a little shiver down my spine. “It’s my day off. This better be—” He stopped, listening. A deep groove formed between his brows. “The Tokyo beta? How? Run the diagnostic again.” A pause. He turned slightly away from me, lowering his voice. “No, don’t patch it through. Use the… the emergency protocol. My code. It should bypass the queue.” Another pause as he listened to the speaker on the other end. He rubbed his temple. “I’ve got more important things to attend to. I can't come to the company. Y’all should figure it out, that

  • BILLIONAIRE'S PLUS-SIZE OBSESSION    BREAKFAST

Support my dream? I didn’t know whether to laugh or cry at that statement. Why does she always address me like I don’t matter? I sighed. Maybe I really am living in denial. For years, Mother has made it clear that I wasn’t wanted. I should have learned to deal with it by now. I had barely gathered my thoughts when the door opened. I glanced over. Leo walked in carrying a tray of food. The scent of spices filled the room instantly, making my stomach growl. He’s a good cook, so of course I was more excited about the food than I should have been. He set the tray gently on the side table and slid it closer to me. “Breakfast,” he said simply, like it was nothing. I swallowed hard as steam curled up from the bowls—soups, stews, vegetables, all rich and fragrant. “This looks amazing… and delicious,” I murmured. “Wait till you taste it. Then judge,” he replied. I lifted a spoon, but paused—not because I thought he’d poison me, not because I doubted him. It was because… I wanted t
