Guilt pricked at me when he stopped the car like that just to hear me out.

Has anyone ever listened to me this much? I wasn't even allowed to complain as a child.

I had called him a creep. A manipulator.

Yet, he is reacting this way.

What if I was wrong?

What if I was not wrong?

At my age I am still so vulnerable to acts of service and crave love, affection, which makes me fall for the fake ones.

How can I differentiate them? When they all sound so real at first?

"You were saying?"

Leo cut into my thoughts.

His voice was so soft, like he would stand there forever, waiting for me to find my words.

That almost broke me, making things harder for me.

I couldn't look at him. I looked down as I forced the words. A drop of tear slipped down my cheek.

"Can you help me with something I can eat... Just... fries or something. And wine. I'll pay you back later when I get to my friend's place."

The same friends I've been ignoring their calls? The same ones I swore to av

  • BILLIONAIRE'S PLUS-SIZE OBSESSION    I MISSED HER

My ovulation felt more sensitive this time than ever, I thought, pressing a cool hand to my cheek. Well, when you’re around that particular temptation, what do you expect? Last night, a lot had happened. I’d made it to safety all because of him. He’d been my anchor in the chaos—just like he always was. How could I ever thank him? He always appeared right when I needed help, carrying my well-being as if it were his personal responsibility. A familiar, bitter guilt twisted in my stomach. And yet, all I could think of was running away, because I assumed he was a fake. The thought was a reflex, a defense mechanism I’d honed over the years. But today, it felt hollow. I don’t care anymore, I told myself. The thought was equal parts terrifying and liberating. I just have to be more careful with my heart. I sighed loudly. I hope I’m not making a big mistake. After putting the leftover food away, I went to the kitchen to wash the dishes, only to find the place already sparkling clea

The fog in my head was lifting, replaced by a manageable throb. I was just starting to feel human again when Leo’s phone—distinct and jarringly loud—cut through the penthouse’s calm. Leo, who had been leaning against the kitchen island watching me eat with an amused expression, sighed and pulled the phone from his pocket. He glanced at the screen; his brow furrowed. “Devin,” he answered, his voice shifting into that crisp CEO tone that always sent a little shiver down my spine. “It’s my day off. This better be—” He stopped, listening. A deep groove formed between his brows. “The Tokyo beta? How? Run the diagnostic again.” A pause. He turned slightly away from me, lowering his voice. “No, don’t patch it through. Use the… the emergency protocol. My code. It should bypass the queue.” Another pause as he listened to the speaker on the other end. He rubbed his temple. “I’ve got more important things to attend to. I can't come to the company. Y’all should figure it out, that

Support my dream? I didn’t know whether to laugh or cry at that statement. Why does she always address me like I don’t matter? I sighed. Maybe I really am living in denial. For years, Mother has made it clear that I wasn’t wanted. I should have learned to deal with it by now. I had barely gathered my thoughts when the door opened. I glanced over. Leo walked in carrying a tray of food. The scent of spices filled the room instantly, making my stomach growl. He’s a good cook, so of course I was more excited about the food than I should have been. He set the tray gently on the side table and slid it closer to me. “Breakfast,” he said simply, like it was nothing. I swallowed hard as steam curled up from the bowls—soups, stews, vegetables, all rich and fragrant. “This looks amazing… and delicious,” I murmured. “Wait till you taste it. Then judge,” he replied. I lifted a spoon, but paused—not because I thought he’d poison me, not because I doubted him. It was because… I wanted t

“Don’t push yourself.” He said softly. “I feel like… so much happened yesterday. And yet I can’t…” I squeezed my eyes shut, frustration bubbling. “I hate that my brain feels so stuffy, yet has nothing to show for it.” “It’ll come back gradually. Don’t worry about it.” Saying “don’t worry about it” only gives me more reason to worry. “Did I… get drunk last night?” He tilted his head with a small smile, the movement exaggerated by the sharpness of to soothe the unease coiling in my stomach. I pulled the silken sheet higher, a flimsy shield. What did I do? Did I embarrass myself? Or worse—disgust him? Seeing my distress, he straightened. “I’ll get you food,” he said softly. I nodded. He turned and left the room, the door clicking shut behind him. Alone, I finally let my eyes sweep the room. It was more like a tech lair than a bedroom. The throne-like chair, the monitors, the dizzying city view from the floor-to-ceiling windows—it was a fortress. Surprisingl

  • BILLIONAIRE'S PLUS-SIZE OBSESSION    WHERE AM I?

CHARLOTTE'S POV My eyelids felt like sandpaper as they fluttered open to a sight that made absolutely no sense. I blinked. A wall of screens. Lines of emerald-green code cascading like digital waterfalls. Coupled with relentless keyboard tapping. My blurry gaze followed the sound and found— A man?! My heart stumbled. For a moment, panic flared, clawing up my throat. A shirtless man. His face was focused on the screen, and his bare back looked like a beautiful artwork of muscle to me. My gaze snagged on the tattoo on his left shoulder blade, and yhe one that traced the line his spine. They looked familiar, but I couldn’t place a finger on it. I couldn’t tell if I was still dreaming. My head throbbed and my brain felt foggy. I tried to sit up, but a dull ache pulsed behind my temples. The sheets were too soft, and the air smelled faintly of ozone and male cologne. “Where am I?” I hadn’t meant to say it aloud. The rapid-fire clicking of the keyboard stoppe

She cried loudly taking a moment. My chest ached. I guess it's my turn, now. I filled my lungs, and my shout was not one of pain but of defiance — a truth I needed the universe to hear. “YOU ARE THE STRONGEST PERSON I KNOW. I LOVE YOU! LOVE ME BACK! GIVE ME A CHANCE!” The effect was instantaneous. Her screaming cut off. She turned her head, eyes wide and shimmering with fresh tears, searching my face in the dim light. She cried again, but this time it was a different kind of ache. “She will,” she whispered, her voice hoarse. “She will love you, okay? Don’t cry.” A heartbreaking attempt to comfort me, to absolve me of the pain she was drowning in. It’s you, silly, I thought, my heart cracking. It’s always been you. She whirled back to the water. “JUN! EVEN YOU TOO! I THOUGHT YOU LOVED ME FOR ME! YOU BASTARD! YOU BASTARD! YOU CALL ME FAT! YOU ARE ASHAMED OF ME?” she shrieked, her voice breaking with a bitter laugh. “YOU SAID I AM UGLY? WHO CARES? DOES IT MAKE
