Thirty Four

Zephyr's woke up with a start. His head ached badly. He looked around to get familiar with his environment and calmed down when he realized he was in his room. He reached for the jug of water on his bedside table and downed the whole thing in a go and only then did he feel better.

He remained in that same sitting position pondering on the dream he just had.

In the dream, he saw Bellona and she was desperately calling out to him.

"Mine" She cried. "Help me!"

She looked so tired and worn out and didn't have her usual glow. Her eyes had big bags in them and her body was seriously bruised.

He hesitated for a while and then brought his hands forward to reach out to her but he couldn't seem to get to her. It was as though when he took a step forward towards her, she'd take two steps backward. She was close yet so far.

He tried everything possible to reach her but nothing seemed to work then suddenly, an old lady appeared from nowhere and dragged her away. He could still hear her s
