08: Luna Roja

"LUNA!"

The doll slipped from my hand when I heard Mom's shout from downstairs. I immediately ran towards my closet and hid there while biting my nails.

I'm doomed. Mom probably saw the scattered cereal flakes on the floor in the kitchen.

My throat dried as the familiar footsteps became louder and closer to my room. My eyes shut on their own when the doorknob rattled. The footsteps stopped, but a shadow was already standing in front of my closet.

"Luna, get out of there," Mom commanded.

The light from my chandelier became brighter as the doors of my closet parted from each other. My eyes were glued on the floor, her aura was scary enough to stare more at her eyes.

"I'm sorry, Mom..." Only a whisper came out of my mouth.

She bent her knees and moved my hair backwards, so she could see my face clearly. Mom gave me a warm smile while holding both of my hands, "Why are you hiding in your closet?"
