I held on to my spear tightly, closed my eyes for a moment, and took a deep breath. The sound of our spears clasping reverberated throughout the basement as Dimitri and I engaged in a fierce battle; I knew I was skilled in combat, but he was really good; his technique, his handling of the spear, and the way he handled it as if it were an extension of himself rather than just a tool were all perfect.

I froze, gasping for air, but I retaliated by striking his spear aside after Dimitri’s initial blow, which just stopped the tip of his spear in front of my heart and demanded my capitulation. With our spears clashing, we both started over, and although I fought harder this time, it was just too difficult to hit him since he moved so swiftly and gracefully. With a heavy sigh, he pulled away from me as his spear struck my neck, causing me to freeze. Dimitri pulled his spear back, and we resumed our battle. I was much more focused this time, avoiding and deflecting all of his attacks. He near

I sobbed while holding his lifeless body close to me. Lance fell to the ground and knelt in front of his dead Alpha. He sounded a long, melancholy howl, and the other wolves bowed to the fallen Alpha King, joining him in the sky with their own cries. “The end??” I muttered, “This can’t be our end, Dimitri,” with a low, savage snarl. “This couldn’t be the end we deserved!” I sobbed, transforming my suffering into a renewed resolve. “I won’t let our story end this way, Dimitri. This is my last promise to you.” We weren’t doomed! ~~~~~~~~~~ ***AFTER A WEEK*** Location: Damascus, Syria He passed away seven bloody days ago. It had been seven brutal days since sanity had deserted me, replaced by a primordial, all-consuming hatred that drove my every action. Finding a method to revive Dimitri had turned into a singular fixation of mine, an unrelenting quest that had no boundaries. I have been traveling across the entire continent for the past couple days. In an attempt to revive Dimitri, I

My greatest love, Dimitri, was my mate, and I had to find him! My father hurried after me and asked, “What is wrong, my dear?” I kept a close eye on him since I sensed that his motivations weren’t entirely good. I said, “This isn’t real,” my voice trembling with conviction as I shivered out of his icy clutches. “None of this is.” Panic flared in my mother’s eyes as she tried to pull me in. “What do you mean?” she asked, looking into my soul with an emotionless face. I mumbled, “Mom, I watched you die,” my voice choked with a mix of outrage and agony. I tell her and all the witches in the room who are watching, “I watched all of you die when I was only four. This can’t be really happening?” My mother bluntly said, “We are your family, Isabella,” and as she sought to bring me into her arms, I resisted. As the shattered fragments of my recollection solidified into an astonishing clarity, I screamed, my heart pounding, “No, there is an important part in my memory that I was missing….” “I

I snarl and charge at Alpha Hessimir, tearing his fucking skull from his body before he could get his claws on Isabella. Namek smiles and tells me, “I knew you would protect me.” I needed to get the Darkness out of Isabella since I detested seeing her like this. “Isabella, you need to fight this, come back to me.” I attempted to connect with her but was unable to do so because of a large wall separating us. Namek replied, “Isabelle doesn’t want to come back to you.” I could feel Isabelle resisting, and she gasped aloud as hereyes brightened. “We must now cast the spell, Dimitri. Diego said frantically, “Namek is getting all of her powers from the prison world.” As they attempted to exorcise the darkness within Isabella using the Jade stone, Celeste, Dixie, Alexa, and a few witches formed a protective circle around her. Diego used the blazing Jade stone in his palm to chant while forming a magical shield around Isabella. He continually screamed, “Incervica le mer ra demonica…” and the

“A location spell is cast by Celeste! The others should disperse and locate your Luna. I gave the order, and my whole pack bowed in obedience, all of them carrying out his instructions to alert me first if they saw her. With a look of anger on their faces, alphas from the other packs that were still there entered the war chamber. Whatever they had to say could wait; I didn’t have time for this. Alpha Valerian said, “Supreme Alpha, we need to discuss about what happened.” “I don’t have time for this, Valerian. I bite my teeth and start to go, but his next phrase stops me cold. “I need to rescue my mate.” Looking to the other Alphas for support, Valerian said, “About that, we shouldn’t be trying to rescue her.” “No, Supreme Alpha Dimitri, you are no longer mate with that woman. I felt Luca struggle for control as another Alpha remarked, “She is totally overcome by darkness, she cannot be saved.” My hand curled tightly into a ball of fists. Alpha Valerian shivered where he stood as my bl

Indeed. I smile and respond, “I am now.” I was at last at home, where I belonged. As he brought me to a table where Aunt Maggie, Diego, Mom, and the rest of the family sat, he said, “Let’s go and join our family, this is where you belong, Isabella.” They all gave me warm smiles and invited me to join them. I join them at the table and respond, “Okay, let’s go.” Here, with my family, was where I belonged. “YES ISABELLA… KEEP ON DREAMING… YOU ARE HOME NOW—-” The final Elder was still asleep when I entered his room and stabbed him in the heart with a silver sword. He was so perplexed and unable to comprehend why I was do ing this to him that his eyes widened as he gazed in amazement at the face of Isabella the Luna of the Blood Moon pack. “What a miserable old wolf! I said to him carefully, “Don’t be so confused, your sacrifice is for the greater cause.” With a sly smile on my lips, I drove the knife deeper into his heart, and he sucked in his final breath with a feeble moan, which gave

This was pleasant. I felt calm. I gradually give in to the Darkness with each breath.I could feel the darkness within me rise to the surface as midnight descended even further, taking up everything I could see and making the air feel deadly calm. My gaze shifted to the opposite side of the bed, where the lycan king was still asleep. The notion of him being so exposed to me now made me smile nefariously. You could hear the cheers and the mirth from the celebration going on downstairs. They were smiling, laughing, and generally happy. If only they realized that I was going to put an end to their happiness so quickly. Silently, so as not to wake the lycan, I got out of bed and walked across to the window frame, nude, and gazed out into the night, feeling a sense of oneness with it, for the sky had been overtaken by darkness. The darkness had a lovely appearance. ‘Kill a demon today, face the devil tomorrow’ is a phrase that circulates around the Santacruz family. But even as we dance on t
