HORRIFIC DAY

Sarah walks down the aisle with her terrible husband standing right beside her, piercing deep into her eye. You can see visible tears almost dropping onto her beautiful face, which is covered in light makeup, which of course suits her well.

She heaved, her eye narrowing toward her soon-to-be husband, whose eye was fixed on the priest. The priest returned the stare, his hand quickly sweeping through his well-fitting gown, which lay boldly on his plump body.

Slowly, the ruthless eye diverts from him as he takes it to Sarah, whose head is still bowed and whose heart is piercing with agony.

"You better toughen up your ugly face because if you give anyone a reason to suspect, I won't hesitate to deal with you after this marriage," he whispers into her ear, withdrawing in a rush and puffing out a fake smile in an attempt to look more complying to the priest, whose eyes are dancing on him probably wondering what the fuck he's whispering to his wife to be.

Getting to the front of the priest, the couples halt, facing each other now.

"It's a great day. A day to be glad and happy over because one of us will be getting married to his beloved, beautiful wife," the priest states, joyfully watching as the congregation cheers.

"One thing I love most is joining two people as one in the presence of God and man," he continues shortly after the cheers come to an end.

"I really don't have time for more sermons, as we are already late and wasting any more time is delaying; everyone is here, especially the couples, so definitely this is the right time to carry on," he says, returning his gaze to the soon-to-be couples once more.

"Miss Sarah, Manuel do you from this day forward take Nathaniel as your lawfully wedded husband in richer, for worse, for better, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and cherish, till death do you apart, according to God's law, this is the solemn vow," the priest concluded, his edged eye dancing around Sarah, who remained calm, a word not escaping her lips making him call her attention once more after further silence.

"Miss Sarah," I'm still waiting for a reply," he reminds, watching as she tilts her head up like someone who has been absent-minded for once, but it seems she wasn't as she replied, "Yes, I do," and unable to fight her tears or pain this time around, she breaks down in tears, making everyone present except Nathaniel believe they are tears of joy.

"Now is your turn, Mr. Nathaniel. Do you, Nathaniel, take Sarah Manuel as your lawfully wedded wife? Do you, Nathaniel, from this day forward, take Sarah as your lawfully wedded wife in richer, for worse, for better, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and cherish till death do you apart? According to God's law, this is the solemn vow," he asks, his wrinkles expanding as his face succumbs to a bright smile.

"Yes, I do," Nathaniel responded quicker than expected, making the crowd cheer up in joy.

The couples walk down the tiny staircase facade smiling at anyone who wishes them well among the crowd, but it wasn't for too long as darkness suddenly overshadows them.

Seeing the room in total darkness, Sarah smiles out through an evil smirk, taking to her heels immediately. Of course she has perfectly planned this out, and now is the right time for her to play her own part. She runs as fast as her straight leg can carry her, ducking into a nearby bush, hoping to be far away before the light finally comes, which she knows will take quite a while.

She panted, coming to a halt as her legs couldn't sustain her any more, but not being ready to return to the ruthless, she forced herself to stand and cautiously walk through the thick bush, hoping to find a resting place since she couldn't use her legs anymore.

"What a life," she mumbles out, placing her dusty hands on her whole floating gown and watching as the touched area held onto the dirt from her hand, making the area a bit dirty, but she cared less anyways, not like she wanted anything to do with the ruthless at first nor the gown.

Gaining a little strength and pulling herself up from the tree branch on which she has been resting for a while now, she continues on her journey, really tired, her dry throat already seeking water. She stumbles through the bush but halts immediately when her eyes finally come in contact with one thing she has been searching for a while: standing not too far from her is a tiny hut, the light emanating from it the first thing that called her attention to it. Without further delay, she runs towards it with what little strength she has left.

She stops right in front of the door, giving a quick knock on the door and hoping for an immediate response, but it seems her hopes fell on deaf ears, as even after her fifth knock, the door remained still and was not cracking a bit.

"What if the devil comes and sees you right now?" her mind torment, causing her to pull the door in a hurry, rushing inside immediately.

"Hello! Hello!! Anyone home?" She stretches out, making little steps in the really scattered and rough-looking hunt; she has never in her life seen a place looking this rough and messed up. Fed up of calling on no one and staring at a really scattered house, she sits on one of the old chairs the hut holds, seeking to arrange the house.

She heaves, wiping sweat off her face, and her eyes dance around a well-arranged house now. She has used the little strength she gained in arranging a really disorganized hut, and all her body seeks now is rest, which she can't get if she doesn't take water. Her throat is already growing impatient, and it is showing it off by increasing her thirst for water.

She has been scanning the room now longer than she has ever before when her brown eyes rest on a black drum. Without delay, she rushes towards it, pulling it open immediately as soon as she's close enough. Her throat is singing in excitement at finding what it longed for a long time, and without further hesitation, she dives her head into the drum, consuming a huge amount of water from it to her satisfaction, but she couldn't close the drum because a cranky voice interrupted, making her eyes fly open in fear.
