MasukMila’s POV“My Lady.”The arena official motioned me forward.“It’s your turn.”Every eye in the arena followed me as I walked toward the second Infernal Beast. The cheers from Elle’s successful ride still echoed around the stadium. She had already crossed the finish line to thunderous applause and now stood near the judges’ platform with a smug smile on her face. She folded her arms as I approached. “Try not to die.”I smiled sweetly. “I’ll do my best to disappoint you.”A few demons laughed and Elle rolled her eyes. The laughter vanished the moment I stood before the beast. It was enormous. Its black scales shimmered like polished obsidian. Two massive horns curled backward from its skull.Golden eyes stared directly into mine.It snorted and hot smoke blasted across my face.Wow I could really get scorched.“Hello.” I said sweetly The beast growled. The sound vibrated through my chest. The handler standing nearby frowned. “Strange indeed”“What?”“It doesn’t like you.”“I noticed.
Mila’s POVThe roar of thousands of voices echoed through the demon palace.I stood at the entrance of the arena, my fingers tightening around the strap of my sword. Beyond the enormous iron gates, I could hear drums pounding in a steady rhythm that shook the ground beneath my feet.Boom.Boom.Boom.Each beat made my heart race a little faster.A demon servant bowed before me. “My Lady.”“They’re ready.”I swallowed. “So am I.”That was a lie.The servant pushed the gates open. Sunlight didn’t exist in the underworld, yet the red glow from the blood-red sky illuminated everything before me.The arena was enormous. Black stone seats rose in perfect circles around a wide field of dark sand.Thousands of demons filled every seat. Some cheered while others booed but many of them simply stared. The noise was deafening.I had never seen so many demons gathered in one place. In the center of the highest platform sat the Demon King himself.nHis throne overlooked the entire arena. His red eye
Mila’s POVThe only thing I saw was a shadow, It stood near the window, perfectly still, its outline swallowed by the darkness of my room.I didn’t hesitate. Months of training took over before fear could hold me down.I rolled off the bed just as something flashed through the air.It was a knife. It buried itself deep into the wooden headboard where my head had been seconds earlier. My pulse thundered.Someone was trying to kill me. I grabbed the dagger hidden beneath my pillow and sprang to my feet. The figure rushed me and I clashed my dagger with his and it reverberated with a sharp clang that echoed through the room. The force of the impact sent vibrations up my arm.The attacker was strong and they wore black from head to toe, their face hidden beneath a hoodie. Not a single feature was visible only glowing golden eyes. The stranger swung again, I barely ducked. The blade sliced through the air above my head before crashing into a nearby table, wood splintered everywhere.I ki
Mila’s POV“I can’t do this.”“You can.”“I really can’t.”“You really can.”I glared at Sera and she smiled sweetly from across the training yard, entirely too pleased with herself. The morning air was cool, carrying the scent of damp stone and flowering vines from the palace gardens. Demon warriors sparred in the distance, their swords clashing rhythmically as instructors barked orders.Personally I don’t know why they sparred not like anyone could attack them here.Meanwhile i was being tortured by Sera again and again. Vaelor stood a few feet away with his arms folded. His expression was as unreadable as ever. “We’re starting over.”I groaned dramatically. “We’ve already started over six times.”“And you’ll do it a seventh.”I pointed my wooden practice sword at him. “I think you enjoy watching me suffer.”“I enjoy watching you improve.”“Those sound suspiciously similar.”A faint smile tugged at the corner of his lips.Sera laughed outright. “I like this side of you, Mila.”“I
Knox’s POVThe corridors were quieter than usual. Most of the palace was still recovering from the previous night’s chaotic ball, leaving only guards and servants moving through the grand halls.Conrad walked beside me, his hands tucked behind his back.mNeither of us spoke. There was no need. We both knew exactly where we were going.“You’re certain?” I finally asked.Conrad nodded. “I’ve been watching him for months.”“And?”“He knows something.”“You sound very confident.”“I am.”We stopped outside a pair of enormous black doors. “This is his office.”I pushed the doors open. The room smelled faintly of parchment and candle wax.Shelves filled with books lined every wall and several scrolls lay scattered across a massive desk.Supreme stood beside one of the windows with a document in his hand. He didn’t even look surprised to see us.“Lord Vaelor.”He smiled politely. “Lord Kaelen to what do I owe this visit .”Conrad folded his arms. “We need to talk.”“I imagined you would.”Su
Mila’s POVThe palace had transformed overnight. Servants hurried through the corridors carrying silver trays piled high with crystal goblets and exotic fruits. Enchanted lanterns floated beneath the vaulted ceilings, casting warm amber light across the black marble floors. Every hallway smelled faintly of roses and sandalwood instead of smoke and ash.It was another strange banquet or as Sera had enthusiastically corrected me earlier… “A royal ball.”I stood in front of the mirror with my arms folded while two maids fussed over my hair.“I don’t understand why this takes three people.” I muttered “Because Lord Vaelor has excellent taste,” one of them replied with a smile. “I don’t think he picked this.” I said “He approved it.”I sighed dramatically. “That’s somehow worse.”Sera laughed from where she sat near the window.“You complain every time you’re dressed.”“I complain every time I’m forced into a dress I can’t breathe in.”“You can breathe.”“Barely.”The maids ignored me.
Knox's POV….Pain.That was the first thing I felt when I woke up.A dull, throbbing ache behind my eyes, like my skull had been split open and poorly stitched back together.I groaned and shifted slightly and I froze.Something wasn’t right.I opened my eyes slowly and everywhere was blurry before
Knox's POV….“This is ridiculous.”Conrad’s voice echoed across the training yard, sharp and irritated.I barely heard him.My mind was still stuck on the conversation from moments ago, replaying every word I had said about Mila. And the worst part?A small, ugly voice inside my head told me I had
Mila's pov…Kreda was draining and annoying, I almost punched her in the face.I reached the palace gates and pushed it open everywhere was dark already except for the torches of fires lining the place. Guards stood at their usual posts, but none of them stopped me as I walked inside. Some nodded
Knox Mercer……. I didn’t want a Luna. That was the truth no one seemed willing to accept. The council chamber was quiet, and I sat in my chair while Conrad and Caleb watched me. Generations of Alphas were carved into the walls, staring down at me like judges waiting for me to fail or slip up.
