LOGINMila's pov…..
The days after the rejection were a haze of pain,Rina didn't speak to me and I was all alone with a full ache. I had to ignore the whispers and stares that followed me as I went about my daily activities, I was like an orphan, my mum was dead and my father was very sick and in need of constant care and suppourt. And since I was an omega I had to do some chores in the pack, it was all very humiliating. I was taking supplies to the store room, when, some girls saw me and started whispering. “She really thought the Alpha would mate with her” the blonde one said “She finally found her prince charming” the other one said and they all chuckled “Why don't you all find something better to do” Jenna said from behind me “We didn't say anything” the blonde one said “You don't need to, your face says it all" I stifled a laugh. They glared at her and walked away, giving me dirty looks as they passed. “Why do you put up with that, Knox rejected you yeah big deal” she mocked I couldn't help but laugh, she always found a way to make me feel much better about everything that was going on with me. We spent the day packing supplies to the store room while I did my best to not run into Knox , and it seems he also did the same cause I didn't see him either. Every morning, I woke to the same emptiness, the same hollow ache in my chest, the same whisper of the broken bond. My father was weak and sick. I stayed by his side whenever I could, cooking, cleaning, tending to him quietly in our little room at the edge of the pack. The mate bond was very powerful, my mum died while giving birth to me, and people say it was slime a curse, so I came out weak and fragile. While since my dad lost his mate, he fell very I'll and I had to take care of him. I was done giving my father his drugs when the Luna of our pack, Knox's mother came to my house. Isobel Mercer was a picture of perfection, she was beautiful and always impeccably dressed , she was wearing a white short dress and black stiletto heels. “Luna" I bowed And my father tried to bow, while she just looked at him with a bored gaze She raised a hand to signal him to not bother, while he coughed out blood a little. “What brings you here, Luna,” I said softly, keeping my head bowed and my voice barely above a whisper. Isobel’s lips curved into a faint, dangerous smile. “I hope you are taking care of your father,” she said. “It would be a shame if something… unfortunate happened to him under your care.” My stomach twisted and I nodded. “I do my best, ma’am.” She stepped closer, her heels clicking on the floor with each deliberate step. I could feel her power, her presence, and the way the aura of Luna was radiating of her. She crouched slightly, lowering her gaze to meet mine — not warmly, not kindly, but with precision, like a predator assessing prey. “I know about the bond,” she said quietly, so quietly I almost didn’t hear it. My heart stopped. I froze. “You do?” I whispered, no one except the students at the party were supposed to know it. She nodded. “Knox told me about it, you will not speak of this. You will not draw attention to it. You will stay away from Knox. Understand?” “Yes… ma’am,” I whispered, barely daring to breathe. Her eyes narrowed, and she leaned back slightly. “I am warning you, Mila. Step out of line. Make a scene. Let anyone else know of this bond, and you, along with your sick father, will be sent out as outcasts and rogues do you understand me?” “Yes… ma’am,” I repeated, my throat tight with anger and shame. She gave a sharp nod and walked away, her black stiletto heels clicking as she turned and left the room without another word. The door clicked shut behind her, leaving me in silence. I sank to the floor beside my father’s bed, pressing my face into my hands. My wolf, Rina, stirred, agitated and restless. She growled softly, her voice low in my mind. They can’t hurt him. We must survive. We must hide. We must obey. But… I hate them. I whispered back, I know, Rina. I know. The following days were a blur. I moved quietly around the house, cooking, cleaning, running small errands. My wolf’s presence was always at my back, a soft constant thrum of energy, sometimes nudging me, sometimes holding me back. She sensed everything — Knox’s absence, the pack’s scrutiny, Isobel’s cold eyes watching even from afar. When the Royal family announced that Knox would be leaving to Florida to continue his studies, the pack gathered to see him off. I stayed hidden in the shadows of the hall, barely breathing as dozens of pairs of eyes observed the Alpha in the making, the future leader of the Crescent moon pack. Knox looking handsome and intimating as always. without moving, stood tall among his peers, commanding attention effortlessly. His gaze swept over the gathering wolves, that were wishing him goodbye. He looked back but never looked at me, not even once. ***Knox’s POVThe courtyard was empty after she bolted away like lightning. I stood exactly where Mila had left me. The practice sword she’d dropped still lay on the stone floor.I stared at it for a long moment before bending down to pick it up. The metal was still warm from her touch.I let out a slow breath.“So close and yet so far”I had been so careful for over a year I’ve tried not to blow up this plan, I’ve tried not speaking like Knox.Never smiling too much and never calling her the nicknames only we shared. Never reaching for her when every instinct screamed at me to pull her into my arms.Yet…The mate bond had begun fighting against the disguise. She’d looked at me as though she’d seen a ghost. She didn’t know why and I was making her feel bad. I gripped the sword tighter.“Damn it.”Unable to contain the frustration building inside me, I swung my leg and kicked the air with enough force to create a burst of wind that scattered leaves across the training grounds.A few near
Mila’s POV“Mila wake up.” A firm voice cut through my sleep.I frowned and buried my face deeper into the pillow. “No.”There was a brief silence then the blankets disappeared and cold air immediately rushed over me.My eyes flew open. “Vaelor!”He stood beside the bed, already dressed in black training clothes with his arms folded.“It’s morning.”“I noticed.”“You’ve noticed nothing.”I glared at him. “The sun isn’t even up.”“There isn’t a sun in the underworld.”“Exactly.”I grabbed the blanket and pulled it back over my head. “So let me sleep.”A moment later, the blanket was tugged away again.I sat upright with a groan. “I’ve decided I don’t like you.”“I’ve gathered.”He tossed a folded set of clothes onto the bed. “Get dressed.”“Why?”“We’re training.”I stared at him. “I’m sorry?”“We’re training.”I blinked several times. “I don’t remember agreeing to this.”“You didn’t.”“So why are we doing it?”He looked at me as though the answer was obvious.“Because if someone chal
Mila’s POVThe moment Lady Vesper, the instructor, clapped her hands, the chatter inside the hall gradually died down.“Ladies,” she announced with a warm smile. “We’ve covered etiquette, household management and court protocol.”A collective sigh of relief spread through the room.I wasn’t the only one. Good.“Now,” Lady Vesper continued, “we’ll discuss one final custom before today’s gathering ends.”I leaned toward Sera. “Please tell me it’s about desserts.”She smiled into her teacup. “I’m afraid not from the books I’ve read.”I slumped in my chair. “Of course.”Lady Vesper gestured for everyone to listen. “As noble ladies, it is important to understand courtship traditions.”Several women immediately straightened. Some even looked excited. I, on the other hand, wished I could quietly disappear beneath the table.“The demon realm has always valued strength.”She paced slowly across the front of the room.“Because of that, affection alone has never determined who stands beside a no
Mila’s POV“If you keep staring at that book, you’re going to burn a hole through it.”I looked up with a sigh. Sera stood in the doorway with one hand resting on the frame, dressed in a flowing emerald gown that shimmered whenever she moved. Her hair had been pinned into an elegant braid, and unlike her usual carefree self, she looked every bit the noble demon lady.“I’m trying to distract myself.”“From what?”“Living in Hell.”She snorted. “Fair enough.”I closed the ancient book with a soft thud. “So, why are you here?”“The Lady’s Circle.”I frowned. “The what?”“The monthly gathering for noblewomen of the demon realm.”I stared at her. “That sounds unbelievably boring.”“It usually is.”“Can I stay here?”“No, you have to go.”“I’ll be quiet.”“No.”“I’ll organize Vaelor’s books.”“No.”“I’ll clean your room.”She folded her arms. “You’re coming.”I groaned loudly.“You demons really don’t know how to have fun.”She behaved just like my friend Hansel, seeing that bright red hai
Hansel’s povI lay back on the rumpled sheets of my bed, heart racing as Conrad’s body settled over mine. He had pushed me to the bed after our intense kiss. The room was dim, lit only by a single lantern flickering on the nightstand, casting warm shadows across his broad chest and the hard planes of his abdomen. “Been thinking about this all day,” Conrad murmured, his voice a low rumble that sent shivers straight to my core. His hand slid up my thigh, pushing my nightgown higher until it bunched around my waist. I was bare underneath, already wet from the way he’d kissed me earlier, powerful and fierce, like he owned every inch of me.I arched into his touch, my breasts straining against the thin fabric. “Then stop teasing and fuck me, Conrad.”He grinned, dark eyes flashing with hunger. In one swift motion, he yanked the nightgown over my head and tossed it aside. Cool air kissed my skin, making my nipples tighten into hard peaks. Conrad’s gaze devoured me lingering on my full b
Hansel’s POVThe demon realm was an interesting place.Even at night, red light spilled through the palace windows, bathing the endless corridors in an eerie glow.Did I mention everything was crimson red here? Outside, strange winged creatures soared between towering black spires while distant bells echoed across the capital.I stood on the balcony outside my room, staring into the endless red horizon.I guess it’s been a year.According to the books in the library, a day here was equal to a month in the real world, crazy, no wonder the day felt like it was never ending. The wind carried the scent of ash, nothing ever smelled fresh here. “Thinking again?”Conrad’s voice came from behind me.I turned to find him leaning against the doorway with two steaming mugs in his hands. “You do that too much.”“I learned from Marcus.”A sad smile tugged at my lips. “I guess you did.”He walked over and handed me one of the mugs.I took a cautious sip and of course It wasn’t tea. Some strange
Knox's POV….Pain.That was the first thing I felt when I woke up.A dull, throbbing ache behind my eyes, like my skull had been split open and poorly stitched back together.I groaned and shifted slightly and I froze.Something wasn’t right.I opened my eyes slowly and everywhere was blurry before
Knox's POV….“This is ridiculous.”Conrad’s voice echoed across the training yard, sharp and irritated.I barely heard him.My mind was still stuck on the conversation from moments ago, replaying every word I had said about Mila. And the worst part?A small, ugly voice inside my head told me I had
Mila's pov…Kreda was draining and annoying, I almost punched her in the face.I reached the palace gates and pushed it open everywhere was dark already except for the torches of fires lining the place. Guards stood at their usual posts, but none of them stopped me as I walked inside. Some nodded
Knox Mercer……. I didn’t want a Luna. That was the truth no one seemed willing to accept. The council chamber was quiet, and I sat in my chair while Conrad and Caleb watched me. Generations of Alphas were carved into the walls, staring down at me like judges waiting for me to fail or slip up.
