CHAPTER 7

"Get out if you have nothing to say" he seethed not looked at her with any familiarity.

"I'm sorry sir. I'm your new assistant and I brought you your coffee" Ria muttered. He clearly doesn't remember her or doesn't even give a damn about her.

How would he remember when she's just a drunk girl he met at a clubhouse and took to a hotel. There wasn't even any thing to remember but it hurts anyway.

She remembered every minute they spent and hoped to see him again but here he was, three days later without even blinking with familiarity. Knowing this prickles her heart.

"Assistant? How come I have a new assistant? Anyway drop the coffee and Leave" He ordered.

Ria nodded and dropped the coffee. Fighting hard not to cry, she turned around and left the office. She doesn't know why his action hurts her but her heart was in deep pain. It was as if a knife was stabbed right into her heart.

Entering her office, Ria blinked off the tears trying to let lose. She wouldn't allow that ruin her makeup. He doesn't remember her so she doesn't mind doing what she was paid to do. Afterall, he forgot about her so she doesn't have to feel pity for him anymore.

Antonio Damon Sinn sipped the coffee his new assistant brought. He wonder why his previous assistant was changed and why such a wierd lady replaced her.

He would ask Chase about it later since he is the one in charge of employment.

The coffee tasted good. Not like the regular coffee his previous assistant brings him so atleast she did a good job other than staring at him wierdly.

Her silver hair reminds him of the girl he met that night and he hoped to see her again. He has been feeling wierd ever since that night.

The scenes that occurred that night kept playing in his head constantly. It drives him crazy. He had tried going back to the club to find her but since he didn't see her face clearly, he wasn't able to describe her thus his search was futile.

A knock landed on his door, it opened and Chase came in smiling from ear to ear.

"What's up cousin? What have you been up to?" Chase sprinted in, grinning from ear to ear.

"I'm good Chase. What's with the evil grin? What mischief have you done or is planning to do?" Damon inquired peering at his friend.

"Nothing new. Have you seen your new assistant?" Chase asked, his lips stretching into a full smile.

"Yes and that reminds me, why the change of assistant? What happened to Emily?" Damon asked flipping through a magazine.

"That lady is too clumsy. She doesn't get anything done. You need a beautiful and sophiscated lady and Miss Gabriel is the right one for you.

"Miss Gabriel? Is that her name? By the way, I didn't complain about Emily she does her job well and I don't want someone else" Damon cleared.

"Yeah! Ria Gabriel" isn't that a beautiful name for a beautiful lady?" Chase grinned trying to avoid the topic about Emily.

"Nothing is beautiful about that. It's a regular name. Anyways, I don't want her. Call back Emily" Damon stated.

He doesn't like the way she acted earlier. Displaying such wierd attitude at her first day in work. He feels she isn't someone who would be serious with her job and he doesn't take unseriousness lightly.

"What? No way you said that Damon. Why are you firing someone who just started working for you?" Chase asked wondering if he missed something.

"I don't like her Chase. She's weird. I want Emily back" Damon declared. He doesn't look like he would go back on his word.

"Huh? No please. It's not your decision Damon. She's now your assistant. Moreover, when did you start sticking to people? Chase asked peering into his eyes. Or do you know Miss Gabriel from anywhere?

No way he would allow Damon fire Ria not when he's also involved in the plans to get him married to her.

Lady Lizbeth came to him and he had to accept to help Ria get Damon's attention. His cousin has been single for too long and it's getting out of hand now. He needs to give love and also received love and Miss Gabriel looks like the right one for him.

"I have made up my mind Chase. I don't want that lady as my assistant. Either get Emily or someone else. I have a meeting with Mr Dart concerning his new product launch" Damon concluded and stood up.

"I don't want to see her when I get back. She's filled with negative energy" he added as he proceeded to go out.

"No Damon! That's not happening. We are not changing her. Atleast not now. You haven't even given her a chance and you've concluded she's filled with bad energy. Have you suddenly become a seer?" Chase pursued after him trying to get him to change his mind but Damon wouldn't bulge.

"That means I have to go?" Ria asked Chase. Her eyes looked depressed. First, he acted as though he didn't remember her and now, he has fired her without her even starting.

Now she believed what lady Lizbeth said about him. He's such a cruel and cold man.

"It looks like it. Damon doesn't change his mind once it's made up. I don't know why but he has never rejected any assistant given to him. He claimed you acted weird and is filled with bad energy. He doesn't believe you should be trusted. He also said—"

"Please stop! I don't know if you realize but your words are hurting me" Ria mumbled. 

"Oh, I'm sorry about that. I'm only trying to make you understand. I don't mean to break your heart" Chase apologized.

Ria nodded. "I will pack my things and go. Lady Lizbeth should be able to understand her son doesn't want me".

"Maybe you should wait for a little while. I would try talking to him again when he gets back" Chase said. He noticed Ria was feeling depressed and he feel for her. Damon just fired the poor girl just like that.

Maybe he would try to talk to Damon even though he doesn't believe he would change his mind.

Damon was going through a magazine and scribbling down on an iPad when the door flew open and the new assistant which he rejected barged him looking furious.

"What are you doing here? I thought I told them to pay you off? Why are you still here?" He asked, his eyes fixed on her.

"Really? I just came in and I'm already being fired. Is that how you run a firm? Do you go around firing new workers who did nothing wrong?" Ria barked.

She went to plead but she lost it when he attacked her. She won't allow him ride over her and treat her like a piece of trash.

"If this is how you treat you staffs then I plead to be an exception. I can't allow you treat me like some trash you use to your satisfaction and dump.

Damon's eyes dilated. Is this lady talking to him? The guts. He kept mute and kept on staring at her.

"I will not leave this place. I did nothing to you and if you feel you don't want me in you company then tell me what wrong I did. I can't get accepted to work here and suddenly get rejected by you just because you are the boss and you don't like me".

"Are you even supposed to like me? Am I working here for you to like me?" Ria yelled. The fact that he's staring at her with no expression while she rants infuriates her.

"Won't you respond? Why are you gawking at me?" Ria muttered. She felt like a fool. A big fool and she just realized she came there to embarrass herself.

"Ok I'm done" she mumbled in embarrassment shutting her mouth. The man's eyes were just watching her while she goes on fooling herself.

He pointed at the door. "Get out if you are done. We don't entertain mad people here" He mouthed without emotions.

What a cruel and cold man. Ria snapped. "I am not mad. You are the mad one if you don't know. Just because you don't like me, you decided to act unprofessional. Shame on you" Ria spat. She glared at him one last time and walked out of the office banging the door as hard as she could.

"Damon sighed immediately she left. At last there would be some peace. What a raving lady.

He picked up his office phone and dialed a number. "Tell Ria Gabriel to stay" he said into the phone and ended it.

Ria got into her office, drew up the window blind harshly. Damon turned to look at her and she rolled her eyes at him then closed back the blind.

"Cruel person!"

She began packing her things. She had suffered to set her office the way she wants and now she would be leaving all because of that ice of a boss.

The door opened and Chase came in smiling. Ria held herself from yelling at him. How dare him smile at her misfortune.

"What?" Ria spat angrily. She was ready to bite anyone who get on her nerve without caring who they are.

"Calm down tigress. You still have your Job. I don't know what you did or how you did it but whatever it is, you did a good job and managed to move Damon's heart" Chase announced.

"Huh?" Ria stood transfixed.
