Masuk“ You will?”
“ Yeah” Remy replied, nodding slowly to support his answer and Sebastian smiled so widely.
“Thank you, thank you so much Rem. This is the best birthday gift ever” he said.
Back inside the Jenson home, Ramona scoffed and started pacing immediately they got inside.
“ You can see, she's nothing but a shame. She has chased him away. Why will you say she was around?” Ramona asked
“ Please, let me think straight” Taylor said then after pacing, he started heading toward the stairs. Slyvia sat down smiling.
“I am perfect in every sense, why will he even say he has two daughters? I am the only daughter of this family. The only one to be known” Slyvia said
“ She should just go to the convent like he suggested, a Hawthorne can sense a filth when they see one.”Ramona said “She will disgrace this family forever”
Lyra was on her bed, her book in hand when she heard her father screaming her name, he screamed twice, banged two knocks on her door and stepped in.
“ What have you done, Lyra?” He asked and sat looking up at him.
“ I have no idea what you…”
“The young man that was here, what did you do?”
“ A young man was here?” She was confused then she remembered the guy that had banged her door
“ What do you mean a young man was here?” His voice was calmer.
“ He's not my guest, why will he bang my door”she asked and Taylor scoffed, pointing at the door as though he was there.
“ That young man is Remy Hawthorne, your soon to be husband” he said and she furrowed “ he owns several companies and…”
“ Why will he bang my door like that?” She asked interrupting him and Taylor gasped.
“Do you know who he is?”
“ Remy Hawthorne, that's who you call him”Lyra replied “Daddy please, can you get out of my room?”
“ Oh , I can't “ Taylor said “ What did you discuss?” He asked and Lyra rolled her eyes.
“ We didn't discuss anything…”
“ Why did you make lies become your second skin? I have always try to believe you and you…”
“You?” Lyra stood up “ you try to believe me, since when?” She asked “ since when did you ever once in your life try to believe me?”
“Did you think you are trustworthy? All you ever do is lie…”
“Why are you asking me questions then, get out of my room. Get out before I start lying again. Go ,get out”
“ You should get prepared for a dinner by weekend, be grateful I get you a husband and not let you turn into a prostitute”
“ Oh, I'm so happy, I'm so grateful “ she said sarcastically “ get out” she said, slammed the door after him and keyed it. She stood there, her heart hammering. Venting out this much was the best thing she had ever done all her life on earth. She stood there, pushing hair off her face overtime. She was getting married.

~The Bowers home ~
Dorian Bowers took a bit and dropped his cutlery, his parents and brother looking at him.
“ Are you okay?” Mrs Bowers asked and he exhaled heavily.
“No, I'm not” he said then looked at them “ I am getting married” Dorian said and Mrs Bowers gasped.
“ That's good news, my son. Congratulations” she said
“ Congratulations, brother” his brother said from beside him and he picked back his cutlery while they watch him eat.
“ Dorian, to who?” Mrs Bowers asked after a minute of watching him eat as though he hadn't just shared a huge information. He paused a looked at them.
“ The Jenson's first daughter” he said casually before chewing a beef.
“Awwn, that's so cute. I mean, there have always been a chemistry between you both.” Mrs Bowers said, joy filling her face.
“Since when have you been in a relationship?” Mr Bowers finally spoke.
“6 years ago, Father” Dorian said and smiled “She's the only one I can see myself getting married to, I tried relationships over the years and no one feels like her. I will marry Lyra Jenson” he declared, smiling. Mrs Bowers smile disappeared, Mr Bowers stopped in his meal and turned to him.
“ Do you mean that unruly daughter of theirs, the one that seduced you?” She asked
“ But she's the first daughter. It's been years, forgiveness is…”
“ What are you spewing? You want to marry someone so uncouth, so dirty, at 15, all she goes about is sleeping around, someone so…”
“ Father, don't speak like that.”Dorian started but was interrupted .
“ Oh you could have said that, you could have said this when she came to my house, went to your room, seduced and raped you” Mr Bowers said and dropped his cutlery “ I will not approve of such dirty lady in my house” he declared standing up .
“ Father, I did not remember asking for anyone's approval. I will marry Lyra Jenson and I am only informing you”
“ You've been back for how long, a week, five days…” Mr Bowers slammed the table “ you will not marry that bitch, try me and watch me” he said and stormed away.
“Sweetie” Mrs Bowers stand up to go after her husband but turned to Dorian “ of every woman in the woman in the world, you choose a rapist”
“ Mother, I was 19, she was 15, she was young”
“ Cut me that lame excuse. She was young but she went up to your room. She stripped herself. She raped you” she spat out and went up after her man. Dorian remained at the table with his brother, his father was supposed to speak to Mr Jenson on his behalf but since he was against it. He will have to go by himself.

~¥~
Lyra looked up at the mirror, a gorgeous lady in a body hugging indigo dress, slitted to her thigh was staring back at her. Deep big blue eyes shaded by her long curvy and black lashes.
“ You are gorgeous” the makeover artist her father had assigned to her for the night said, Lyra turned to her and gave the prettiest smile.
“ Thank you” she said and took her bag. She was going to meet her future husband. If he was ugly or not, she can't remember but he was her passkey out of this family. Maybe she would live a different life with him. That was all that matters. She took a last look at herself, knowing she couldn't love the person that stares right back at her enough then she walked out of the room and down to the living room. Her father looked at her, they hadn't seen each other since the afternoon of their beef and he just looked away. He had sent the dress over and she got it that all he needed was for her to look good for their host. Since he mentioned him having numerous companies, it was obvious there was something to gain aside him wanting to get rid of her.
Ramona walked down the stairs chatting with Sylvia and they stopped immediately when they saw her.
“ Mom, that is the gown I am talking about” Slyvia screamed immediately when she saw Lyra. “ You are not wearing that to the Hawthorne, you can't outdress me” Slyvia said rushing toward Lyra.
“ What are you doing?” Taylor stepped in her way.
“ Don't stop her, let her rip that off her. Why will you do that? Why will you get a Ralph Lauren for her ? Is it because she's the daughter of your first wife?” Ramona asked getting pissed.
“ Ramona” Taylor was perplexed “ why will you say that?”
“ Am I wrong? Of course not”
“Fine, I don't like troubles” he said and turned to Lyra “ go and change, be fast time is gone already”
“ I should go undress?” Lyra was surprised
“ Yes” the three of them said in unison and she scoffed disappointedly.
“ I won't” she said
“ Then I will rip that” Slyvia said and took a step forward when the sound of their gate opening stopped her. Taylor exchanged looks with his wife and children, they were the only one that know the pass key, they switched their attention to the door and started walking out when the door opened and Dorian Bowers entered.
“ Good evening, Mr and Mrs Bowers” he said, his eyes flicking over them.
“ Dorian” Taylor exclaimed “ when did you return?”
“ Some days back
and I came to check up on you” he said, his eyes settling on Lyra.
Early the next morning, a ringing phone woke Lyra. She sat up thinking it was Slyvia, but it was the Samsung by her bedside ringing. She took a glance at Slyvia; she was lying on the bed, her eyes on her.“Pfff,” Lyra puffed and got out of the bed before picking the call as she walked away. She didn't know who her caller was, but definitely, she didn't want Slyvia to hear her conversation.“Hello.”“Walnut, how are you?” a masculine voice came through. She paused. Walnut?“Who am I unto?” she asked. Then it clicked before he responded. She got into the bathroom and locked the door behind her. “Remy, how did you get…” she paused. How did he get the number he bought for her? That was stupid. “Good morning,” she said.“That's more like it. Good morning. I hope you slept well,” he said. She didn't. She woke up multiple times to Slyvia going through her stuff. She had vexed, they'd quarreled, and still, once she closed her eyes, Slyvia still went through her stuff.“Yeah, yourself?” she li
Lyra sat down after Slyvia left and stared at the phone. As the minutes passed, she opened the pack, brought out the phone, and inspected it. It looked like every other phone, and she turned it on. Soon, she became so invested in inserting the SIM he had added to the pack and setting up the phone that she didn’t notice how time flew...until her door stormed open and her father came in.He looked at her in surprise, as though she were a ghost.“Lyra,” he said slowly.Lyra looked up at her father, wondering why he looked so surprised to see her. Oh, he had expected her never to return home. He was, in fact, happy with his little family.“Who’s he?” Taylor suddenly charged toward Lyra. He stopped when he noticed the phone in her hand and smirked. “He got you a phone? Is that what you’re whoring around for?” he asked.Lyra stood up from the bed, dropping the phone.“Leave my room, Father,” she said.He paused and looked at her. “I will not leave,” he said. “I own this house. This building
Sebastian stared at Remy, wondering what was over his grandson.“Rem, did you have knowledge of where she was… wait, you kidnapped her?” Sebastian suddenly exclaimed. Remy laughed at his grandfather's surprise. “You shouldn't do that. Her parents were worried, I was worried,” he said.“I didn't kidnap her, Grandpa,” Remy said. “I am not going into details, but start preparation for our wedding. We have limited time,” he added. He was more than excited to get married, something he had dreamed of years back. Sebastian took out his phone and started strolling through his contacts.“Mister, are you doubting me?” he asked, and Sebastian stopped.“Have you returned their daughter to them?” he asked.~¥~Lyra got down from the taxi and watched it leave before turning to her house. Finally, a time to die peacefully. She walked to the gate and punched in the passkey, walking through when it opened before heading right in. The butler appeared at the sound of the gate opening, and she saw the cl
Mark pulled apart the curtain of the hotel on the top floor. His phone started ringing, and he brought it out from his unpacked bag on the bed. It was his boss, Cedric Huxley.“Yes, Boss,” he said immediately as he picked up the call.“Mark, where are you?” Cedric asked through the phone in a low, menacing tone.“I’m out of town, Boss.”“Get back now,” he commanded.“I’m sorry, Boss, but I’m running the Chairman's errand,” Mark replied very calmly.“Do it quick and get back here,” Cedric said and ended the call. Mark sighed and dropped his phone on the side table. Pictures of the lady who had bumped in front of their car several nights back, captured by the dashcam, were on the bed. He had limited time to source out one person in the whole of city A, and he'll start walking from tomorrow.¥“Is that all?” Lyra asked when the doctor came back into his office; her prospective husband had personally dropped her off at the hospital for the full-body checkup.“Yes, ma,” he said with a poli
“Wow, congratulations. When are they getting married?” Dorian asked.Ramona cleared her throat lightly. “It’s still in process,” she replied, a small smile forming on her lips.“Congratulations once again.” He watched her as she settled into the seat opposite him before asking, more carefully this time, “Ma… what about Lyra? Is she back home yet?”Ramona scoffed.“That one? She ran off to her man,” she said dismissively.Dorian’s heart dropped. Her man?“Her man?” he repeated, his voice lower now.Ramona waved her hand as if the very thought irritated her. “Yes, her man.”Dorian went still, but he was pissed by the thought of her with another man.“Lyra has a man? Who is he?” he asked trying to remain careful.“Who knows?” Ramona shrugged. “Some mysterious man she’s always sneaking off to meet.”She didn’t notice the change in his expression.Sneaking off to meet him…So she didn’t just leave, she ran to someone. And suddenly, the thought settled heavily in his mind.It was that man. T
“Who would believe that ungrateful girl decided to run away with a man, despite all my efforts on that lady? I raised her,” Ramona said as she chewed on a sliced apple. Slyvia was at the table with her, busy on her phone. It had been days since the dinner incident. “We couldn't even have dinner with Hawthorne, and did you even see the eyes of that grandson....?”“So pretty.”“So scary.”Ramona and Slyvia said at the same time, and Slyvia smiled.“Yeah, he can be scary, but he's so handsome, and even when he's angry, it only gives him a cuter side,” Slyvia said, and Ramona breathed in.“What do you think about getting married to Dorian Bowers?”“Do.... Dorian?” Slyvia coughed. “No, Mom, I can't get married to Bowers.”“But he's a nice person, and you both would work out so well.”“No, Mom, I can't marry Dorian. I mean, I would rather live in the kitchen, mopping the floor every day than....”“Slyvia, this is a respectable man. He studied well, he comes from a reputable background, and
“What the actual fuckkkkkk!” Dorian screamed, clearing the whole desk with a swipe of his hand in anger. He stormed through his penthouse. Two of his men were found dead by the road in Los Angeles, and the third one was missing. The lady they claimed to have found was gone. Who the actual fuck is L
“What was that all about?” Taylor asked the moment their car drove out of the Hawthorne gate.Ramona rolled her eyes at her husband and scoffed. “Shouldn’t you be worried about your kidnapped daughter?”Slyvia turned in her seat from the front and looked back at her parents. “Dad, was she really ki
The doctor stiffened as Remy walked in, and Lyra saw it. He stood up straight. “Mr. Hawthorne, I would be leaving now,” he said. “Goodbye, Doctor,” Remy replied, his eyes fixed on Lyra Jenson. He watched as she watched the doctor leave, and something crawled in him. Why would she stare at another
~ City G ~Cedric Huxley walked out of the airport in City G, Mark pulling their bag after him. There was a grey-coloured Bugatti awaiting them.
