“Have you seen Selene?”

I asked Astrid, we decided to take a stroll together to just talk, weird I know and it shocked me as well.

Something was wrong.

My wolf was restless beneath my skin, ears perking, and tail twitching in agitation. I was restless and that only happened whenever something was wrong.

"Astrid…" I said, halting. "Do you feel that?"

She paused, brows furrowing. “What?”

“Something is not right… I can feel it”

Then, like a blade slicing through silence there was an extremely loud scream.

“Fuck!”

Both of us bolted.

The world blurred past as we sprinted toward the source. I didn’t care that the wind was clawing at my face or that my legs were screaming.

Mindy’s voice shredded through my bones like it belonged to a nightmare come alive.

I pushed myself faster than I ever did in my life but I still wasn’t fast enough.
