Camila POV

My life had been stolen from me, not just by Daniil’s cold indifference, but by the choices I had been forced to make. I never wanted this life. I never wanted to be tied to him in this way. But here I was his wife, a pawn in a game that I didn’t even know the rules to.

I sank onto the bed, my body exhausted, both physically and emotionally. The silence of the room enveloped me, but it wasn’t comforting. It was oppressive. And then, as if my mind was desperate to escape the present, the past began to creep in.

I saw flashes of my childhood moments of laughter, of innocence, moments before everything had gone wrong. I remembered running through the fields behind our house, the warm sun on my skin, the sound of my mother’s voice calling me in for dinner.

In those moments, life had seemed so simple, so full of promise. I had been so happy, so free. But that was before everything had been shattered, before my world had been turned upside down.

I closed my eyes tightly, willing the memories away. But they came rushing back anyway.

It was late at night when I heard the shouting downstairs. My father’s voice, angry and unyielding, mixed with my mother’s desperate pleas. I was just a child, too young to understand the things that were happening between them, but old enough to feel the tension in the air. The fear. The dread.

I had crept to the top of the stairs, peeking through the banister to see what was happening. My mother was crying, her face streaked with tears. My father was standing over her, his fists clenched at his sides. I had never seen him like this. The man who had always been my protector, my hero, had become something terrifying.

“I told you,” my father hissed, his voice low and venomous. “You’ve made your bed. Now lie in it.”

My mother didn’t respond. She didn’t need to. The damage had already been done.

I had never told anyone what I’d seen that night. I had never even told my mother. It wasn’t until years later, when I was old enough to understand, that I realized the full extent of what had happened. That night had marked the beginning of everything falling apart—the beginning of the man I had looked up to, the man who had been the center of my world, becoming a stranger.

The memories hit me like a wave, relentless and unforgiving. I squeezed my eyes shut, trying to block them out, but they refused to be ignored. The fear, the helplessness, the feeling of being trapped in a world I couldn’t control.

But those feelings weren’t new. They had always been there. They had shaped who I was, how I moved through life. They had shaped my relationship with my parents, with the world. And now, they were shaping my marriage to Daniil.

I couldn’t escape the past. It was always there, lurking in the shadows, waiting to remind me that no matter how hard I tried, I couldn’t outrun it.

I let out a shaky breath, pushing myself upright. I needed to stop thinking about it. I needed to focus on the present, on the life that was unfolding before me now. But how could I? How could I move forward when the past had such a strong hold on me?

The sound of footsteps outside my door pulled me from my thoughts. I froze, listening. The steps stopped right outside my room, and for a moment, I thought I imagined them. But then the door handle turned, and the door creaked open.

I looked up, my heart pounding in my chest. Daniil stepped into the room, his silhouette framed by the hallway light. His eyes locked onto mine, and for a moment, the world seemed to stand still. He didn’t say anything. He didn’t need to. His presence alone filled the space, demanding attention.

I wasn’t sure how to react. Should I say something? Should I stand up and face him? But I couldn’t move. I couldn’t bring myself to make the first move.

He stood there for a long moment, studying me, his expression unreadable. I could feel the weight of his gaze on me, but there was no warmth in it, no care. It was the same detached look he always wore, like I was nothing more than an object to be observed, not a person to be understood.

Finally, he spoke, his voice low and indifferent. “We need to talk.”

I nodded, though my mind was a swirl of confusion. What did he want to talk about? The marriage? The distance between us? Or was it something else entirely?

But before I could say anything, he turned and walked toward the chair by the window. He sat down, his posture straight and commanding, as if he were waiting for me to join him. But I didn’t move. I couldn’t. I was frozen in place, unsure of what he expected from me, unsure of what I even wanted anymore.

The silence stretched between us, thick and suffocating, until Daniil finally broke it.

“You’re not the first person to feel trapped by this arrangement,” he said, his voice devoid of emotion. “But you will be the last.”

I didn’t understand what he meant, but the finality in his tone left no room for interpretation. This was my life now. This was my fate. And there was no escape.

I had tried to hope, to believe that somehow, something would change. But deep down, I knew the truth. This was my reality. And I would have to find a way to survive it.

Daniil didn’t look at me again. He didn’t need to. He had already said everything he needed to say. And me? I had nothing left to say.

The past had come rushing back, and now, it was clear. There would be no escaping it. There would be no escape from him, from this life, from the chains that bound me. And the worst part was, I wasn’t sure I even wanted to anymore.

  • BOUND BY THE RUTHLESS MAFIA BOSS. HIS SINS, HER CHAINS   The Journey Ends

Camila’s POV“Accepted” didn’t feel like victory, it felt like a door closing somewhere behind us while another one opened ahead, and in that narrow space between both, everything we had built, everything we had survived, everything we had refused to lose, finally came into focus. The pressure didn’t vanish immediately, it lingered like breath held too long, like a decision still being processed by something that didn’t think in human terms, and I stood there with Daniil beside me, Ivan steady at our flank, Neomi watching the twins like she already understood what was changing.Because something was changing. Not around us.Within us.The twins stood together in the center of the room, no longer just children, no longer just observers, but something in between what they were and what they were becoming, and I realized with a quiet shock that we had reached the point every legacy eventually faces, the moment where protection becomes release.Daniil stepped forward first, not to command

  • BOUND BY THE RUTHLESS MAFIA BOSS. HIS SINS, HER CHAINS   Daniil and Camila’s Final Vows

Camila’s POV“Selection will not be voluntary” didn’t echo, it settled, and in that moment everything inside me went still because I understood exactly what that meant, not as a threat anymore, not as a warning, but as a decision already made somewhere beyond our control. No one moved at first, not Daniil, not Ivan, not Neomi, not me, because movement would mean reaction, and reaction meant surrendering control to something that was no longer asking permission to reshape our lives. The twins stood in the center of it all, still watching, still waiting, and that silence from them felt heavier than anything else because children shouldn’t be part of decisions like this, but they already were.Daniil stepped forward slightly, not toward the presence, not toward the city, but toward us, and I felt it immediately, that shift in him, not fear, not hesitation, but something final forming.“No,” he said. Not loud. Not emotional.Absolute.The pressure in the room tightened instantly, like som

  • BOUND BY THE RUTHLESS MAFIA BOSS. HIS SINS, HER CHAINS   The Children Legacy

Camila’s POV“This wasn’t a test anymore, it was an attack,” and the moment that truth settled into me, everything else followed faster than thought, because whatever had been observing us had now collided with something human, something reckless, something that didn’t calculate outcomes, it forced them. The city didn’t look different, not at first, lights still burning, people still moving, but I felt it beneath everything, that fracture forming, not visible but real, and I understood immediately that if we lost control here, we wouldn’t just lose structure, we would lose the future we had built inside it.Daniil didn’t hesitate, his voice cut through the tension sharp and immediate, “We split focus,” and Ivan stepped forward before the words finished settling, “I handle the external threat,” but Daniil’s head turned slightly, not disagreement, something deeper, “No, you don’t handle it alone.”Neomi moved closer, her tone controlled but firm, “This isn’t just an attack, it’s timing,

  • BOUND BY THE RUTHLESS MAFIA BOSS. HIS SINS, HER CHAINS   A New Dawn for Moscow

Camila’s POV“Next phase requires full family integration” didn’t feel like a warning, it felt like something had already decided we were no longer separate pieces but one system to be tested together, and I stood there with Daniil beside me, Ivan in front, Neomi close, understanding that whatever came next would not come for one of us, it would come for all of us at once. The shift didn’t stay in the room, I felt it stretch outward beyond walls, beyond distance, like something was reaching into everything we had built, and when the words came, they settled into me with a weight I couldn’t ignore, “Moscow integration in progress,” and my chest tightened because this was no longer contained.I moved closer to the window, my eyes tracing the city below, lights still steady, movement still normal, but underneath it something had changed, something was being measured, mapped, understood in a way that made everything feel exposed, and I realized this wasn’t about observation anymore, this

  • BOUND BY THE RUTHLESS MAFIA BOSS. HIS SINS, HER CHAINS   A Stronger Family Bond

Camila’s POV“Outcome will determine succession viability” didn’t fade, it settled into everything like something waiting to be proven, and I felt it in the way the room held its breath, in the way Daniil didn’t move, in the way Ivan stood exactly where he was as if stepping back would undo something he had already chosen. No one spoke immediately because this wasn’t a moment that allowed noise, this was something quieter, heavier, something that demanded presence instead of reaction, and I realized then that whatever this assessment was, it wasn’t going to be loud or violent, it was going to be precise.Ivan didn’t look at us, not at first, his focus stayed forward like he was already inside something we couldn’t see, and that was what tightened something in me because this wasn’t a fight we could step into, this was something he had to face alone.Daniil stepped closer but didn’t cross into his space, that was the difference, that was the control, and when he spoke his voice carried

  • BOUND BY THE RUTHLESS MAFIA BOSS. HIS SINS, HER CHAINS   Passing the Torch

Camila’s POVI knew we weren’t walking into danger, we were walking into something that had already decided to be there. The twins were awake, not crying, not afraid, just watching in a way that didn’t belong to children, and that was what tightened something deep in me because fear I understood, chaos I understood, but calm awareness like that meant something had already reached them without needing to touch them.Daniil slowed, not stopping but adjusting like he was stepping onto something fragile, his voice low and controlled, “Come here,” but they didn’t move immediately and that hesitation cut deeper than anything else because it meant their attention wasn’t fully ours anymore.Ivan shifted beside him, tension rising in the silence, Neomi’s fingers tightening slightly as she scanned the room, and I stepped forward slower than all of them because I felt it too, that presence, closer now, not outside, not watching from a distance, but inside the moment itself, like it had learned h
