Chapter 4

Lucinda Orlok

It was a cold evening and as usual the cafeteria was already filled up with families and friends who came to enjoy themselves.

The music from the club couldn't disturb people at the cafeteria because of the walls and doors.

I had noticed a shaky bulb just a few steps after the canteen and I had no option than to get a stool so I could go change the bulb.

The stool had lifted upward which made her fall in a backward manner as she lost her balance.

"Fvck! I'm crashing down!!" She panicked within as she shut her eyes tightly. Both the faulty bulb and the new bulb had fallen alongside her.

For a moment, she felt like her world just got paused as the terrified sound of people yelling as she was falling down instantly ceased.

She had opened her right eye like she was trying to peek on someone and for the first time after four years she lost her womanly composure.

She had fallen straight into the strong arms of an insanely handsome young man whose hair were very thick like darkness itself, it was oily and a bit curly and it glowed. His eyes were also black as darkness too which gave him this demonic appearance. His eye lashes were long and thick as well.

His face was completely blank, like one who had no human emotions. She found it completely weird but she loved his dark aura still.

She smiled faintly trying to ease the moment as she noticed people's attention was now on us. She was completely stunned when she had seen him reciprocate her smile in a brisk manner which sent butterflies to her stomach immediately.

He had helped her get back on her feet as he let go of her waist. That was when she had to realize how tall he was. "He should be about a 6'6 feet tall if I'm not mistaken!!" She sneered underneath her breath.

His was fvcking sexy and hot. His figure was like that of a mannequin. He was wearing a black shirt underneath his black suit.

He looked extremely wealthy. She was lost as she kept on scanning him from head to toe like some detective. His jewelries glittered, from his neck chains, bracelets, rings and his wristwatch.

She noticed something strange. She felt something odd about his jewelries which all had the skin texture of a dragon snake which also fitted his tattoo that drew from his neck down to his chest where her eyes could access. His tattoo was that of demons in the great inferno.

Stefan had tapped me on my shoulder, bringing me back to my senses.

"Um...fvck!!" She groaned within as she squatted to park the pieces of the broken bulbs. "Thank you so much Mr." She mumbled as she stood up.

"You're welcome." He replied in a coarse, and appealing voice.

She had walked away from the scene, heading to the truck at the back of the building. She had allowed him to proceed to the canteen.

Rebekah had dragged her inside the kitchen as she was heading to the backyard.

"O..M...G!! That dude there is fvcking hot!!" She gasped out in full excitement as she peeked on him.

"Shhh!! No one better hears you!!" Lucinda scowled as she gave the parker to one of the workers to help her go dump it.

One rule that guided us here at the TRENTON'S Bar was, "Never fall in love or get attached to any of the customers that visited the cafe or club."

The rule was made in order to protect the secrecy of the secret house. It was kept as a secret for years through black magic. And it was named after Elisabeta's father, Trenton. Associating with humans could make us vulnerable into exposing ourselves and that would spell only doom.

The vampire's existence remained a myth and nothing more to humans.

"I can't believe that San Francisco has such a cutie." Rebekah mellowed as she covered her mouth with her hands like she was trying to keep it cool just between her and Lucinda.

"I have to return to the canteen before Madamé Elisabeta starts looking for me." She snapped, leaving Rebekah to her wild thoughts.

She returned to the canteen to still see the young prince charming unattended due to the people who were placing their orders.

She had walked past them all as she arranges her hair neatly behind her back. She was nervous and shy as she catches glances with him.

"Ummm… s - sorry sir for the time wasted!!" She whimpered. "P... please wha-tt can I get for you??" She stuttered sheepishly making her look like a moron before him.

He picked up the menu which was on the canteen as he looked at the list again. "Umm," he mumbled as he ran his fingers through the menu slowly. "Two Sand dabs, two bay shrimp, an abalone but you should wrap that in a pack and a hot coffee." He muttered as he looked at his wristwatch like time was against him.

"Umm, s-sir??" She stuttered.

"Yess!!"

"We just exhausted abalone for tonight, got a lot of orders tonight!!" She mumbled, wearing a bright smile. "You could pick another if you don't mind!!" She added.

"Chicken pizza??" He responded after a minute of going through the menu again. "Do you have it??"

"Oh yes sir, we do!!" She replied just immediately.

"Get me two mini sizes then and you could also wrap a dungeness crab as well if that is still available." He responded, trying not to look at her.

Should I really say, "Look at her??" or I should quickly state how alert he always was whenever he was out of his house.

He knew so well he was highly wanted and hell could break loose anytime just to capture him and bound him in the darker realms.

Lucinda had lost full control of herself. She had hurriedly gotten what he ordered for and a man also on black had come to take the tray to a table where a young girl was seated all alone.

"Oh!! She's your…"

He had interrupted her immediately, he never wanted to hear her say girlfriend, "She's my sister, only sister!!" He mumbled as he brought out his card to pay for what he had bought.

"Awwn… she's an angel in human form." She whimpered, wearing a broad smile.

"Oh mine!!" He mumbled as he sipped the coffee I had hurriedly made for him. "I think I've gotten a new spot to get my morning coffee from!!" He sneered as he smiled briskly.

"Is he actually flirting with me??" I scowled within. "I felt happy after all knowing that he couldn't stay without praising my coffee.

"You mind telling me your beautiful name??" He smiled.

"Umm.. Lucinda Orlok!!" She replied.

"Wow, I knew you would have a beautiful name because beauty is boldly inscribed in everything you do. And I do know that you'd be sweet just like the coffee you make!!" He smiled faintly and alluringly.

He was about to tell her his name before his phone rang. It was a call from the coven. "Just call me Orpheus!!" He muttered as he dropped some thousand bucks for her as a tip and he left the canteen with Dawn.
