Aelfred POV

This week has been a nightmare. I wanted to see her to spend time with her, but the Elf council swamped me with bullshit.

Those elder fuckers are sneaky bastards that I am sure will give me a fucking hard time once I bring my mate back home.

Storm is a force to be reckoned with, and I am sure she will achieve great things and improve the livelihood of all of our people. But the council is stuck in its old ways. For years, I have been trying to raise the bar and bring progress and technology into our lives, but they refuse. With every step I take forward, they push two backward.

After I saw her in the cafe, they kept me swamped in the council meeting after the council meeting. My best friend and second in command Vamir, helped me keep every single thing straight becuase he already knew I wanted to take my time with my mate, but the council pushed back, making it almost impossible for me to be with her on her birthday.
